The Meeting

"The meeting will start in the absence of Superman," Batman declared to the rest of the League who quickly settled down.

"He has not yet recovered?" a hologram of Hal Jordan asked.

"Wherever that girl did to him, his healing has been halted to a crawl. The wound is not life threatening but it sent him to a coma!" Martian Manhunter answered, making the other suck in cold breath.

"For a small girl, she packs a kick, huh?" Flash joked only to be stared down by Batman.

"She is on the agenda but not right now. Right now we will speak about our sidekicks and their little adventure to Cadmus," Batman introduced the topic.

"What they did was reckless and it endangered their lives and everyone in the facility," Captain Atom started. "They should have called in the moment they found the place suspicious."

"Let's not forget that they came out unharmed and with an unknown clone of Superman. If they hadn't gone there we would never have found out," Green Arrow jumped in.

"Let's also not forget they ignored protocol. If they were careless, they would have been captured..." Red Tornado was saying before Batman cut in.

"They were captured. The clone took them out but they then convinced him to release them, which ended well for them, for now. It is true, they were reckless and undisciplined. But, she heir actions brought to light a conspiracy against one of our own," Batman said. Everyone was silently listening to him, subconsciously treating him as their leader. "Due to their actions, they showed bravery, recklessness and heart to be a hero on their own, albeit with us showing them the way once in a while."

"What do you want them to do?" Wonder Woman asked.

"They are not ready to face bigger threats out there like Luther or Darkseid, but they can work in covert operations, if the rest of the League agree," Batman suggested.

"Aye!" the others joined in.

"I would also like to include my protege from Mars in this team. She is new to Earth and she might find good company in people her own age, mentally," Martian Manhunter added, showing a picture of M'gann on the large screen.

"As long as she is potty trained I have no issue," Flash said, making everyone glare at him and he to slink away.

"She is aware of Earth's customs and laws and is ready to obey them. She will be no trouble," Martian Manhunter said.

"We trust you, Jon and if you can trust this protege of yours to behave while on Earth then she is welcome," Batman lied through his teeth, not that anyone noticed. Dealing with Jon had made him be able to hide his intentions quite well to psychic alien. "Now, onto our next agenda. Cadmus! The screen behind him changed to a picture taken of the destroyed building of Cadmus. Not far from it was a huge hole on the ground.

"That is a huge hole!" Shazam exclaimed, making some of the members to nod in agreement.

"The hole will come up on our next agenda. For now, we will focus on Cadmus," Batman reminded them.

"What they did was unexpectable. Cloning one of us is an attack to all of us," Captain Atom spoke up.

"I thought appointing the Guardian to keep an eye on it when Amanda Waller was out would stop something like this from happening but it appears it was willful thinking," Wonder Woman said while looking at the screen with slight hatred.

"The fact that Cadmus is back to their old tricks means someone or an organisation has wormed their way inside it. Shutting it down right now would make them seek their itch elsewhere. I would suggest we pretend to have overlooked it while in actuality keeping a closer eye on the project and investigating everyone that is involved," Green Lantern Hal Jordan said. "Oh, shoot. I'm sorry to do this but the Guardians of the Universe have just called us back. Something big just happened and I have to be there."

"Safe travels, Lantern," Batman said before Hal Jordan's hologram died out.

"What Green Lantern said makes a lot of sense. Been to hasty about this will not yield results. We need to be patient and sneaky," Black Canary added.

"Since there are no more suggestions I will take it everyone agrees to watching Cadmus closely for now," Batman said while looking at everyone. He nodded when no one disputed it and then the picture behind him changed to Lucille's.

"Last item on the agenda is this young girl," Batman said, half turning to look at the picture. "A girl that could injure Superman with one kick. There are no records of how in every system on Earth; she is a complete Jane Doe."

"Quite young too, probably 16-18 years old. Her clothes are all Cadmus issued which means she might be an experiment clone, but for whom I haven't the foggiest idea," Flash stayed seriously.

"She's had martial arts training. The way she turned and attacked Superman, so instantaneously, the way she kicked out and composed herself, she might have received high levels of martial arts training. Then the way she analysed each and everyone of us in a second then gave up..." Black Canary was interupted by Dr Fate.

"Her eyes lingered on me for longer than the others. Somehow, she recognized I was the biggest threat to her and she quickly surrendered. She has a sharp intuition," Dr Fate said, sounding almost smug. The others looked at him weirdly before turning to Batman.

"For now, we will not speculate who or what she is but observe and ask questions. But, she is not leaving the Watchtower until she answers all the questions to our satisfaction. If any of you have a problem with that they can leave not to be implicated," Batman said.

"We're fine where we are," Wonder Woman answered almost immediately.

"Very well. Our priority for the time being is solving the mystery of this Jane Doe!" Batman said as he got up.

A few g star systems away, a green light was cruising towards Earth in lightspeed. Everything in it's way was reduced to smithereens, as if the light was not in the mood to be messed with. In the middle of the light was a green ring with the symbol of the Green Lantern Corps
