Ch.52 Recording Pt.1

I woke up early and sat upright on my bed and took a deep breath and sighed, today wasn't like any other day. Today we start our recording session and it makes me anxious as hell, because once I do this, I'm doing it for real there would be no turning back now. I will either soar through the sky or be like Icarus flying too close to the sun and burning and crashing down in glory. I shook my head and shook off the thoughts, why am I thinking like this? Everything will be fine.

I sighed one more time and got up from my bed and stretched a little. I got dressed and started my morning work out routine. That really helps me feel better about myself. After my exercise was done. I got dressed in something more comfortable. I wore a grey t-shirt and joggers and made my way down stairs to get some breakfast.

As usual I found Florian but Bella wasn't there, I sat with Florian and he smiled and asked, "Ah, How's my little star doing?" I looked at him with an eyebrow raised and he cleared his throat and gave me a glass of Luke warm water with honey and some ginger. "Drink this it will soothe your throat."

I shrugged and drank it and he asked, "So, Jon excited for today?"

I nodded and said, "Yeah and nervous, I keep having thoughts what if doesn't go well and all you know?"

He softly chuckled and nodded and said, "Yes, I understand that this is quite nerve wreaking but I'm sure that everything will be fine." I sighed and drank the water and he said, "Now, finish your breakfast we have a long day ahead of us."

I looked at him and he said, "Well, this is a big thing you are doing so I want to be there to show you support."

I smiled and said, "Thanks." He chuckled softly and ate his oats.

After the breakfast was done which was pretty bland if you ask me, Florian made sure that I didn't anything that would cause any problem to my voice. We went to the studio in his car, which makes me keep wanting my own bike or something. We walked into the studio and Ed was already there along with some other people. They were musicians that we hired for the songs… they were wizards.

Ed saw me walking in and got up to great us, "Hey, it's Little Rock and Boss man." Florian was very happy with that nickname, me on the other hand not so much. He patted my shoulders and said, "Big day today huh?" I sighed and he said, "Come on bruv, you weren't that nervous when you played those songs in front of the muggles. This thing is no big deal."

I looked at him and he asked, "What something on my face?"

I shook my head and he realised and said, "Ah, muggle thing… don't worry buddy, Im a squib. I know stuff, why do you think Florian hired me?"

I looked at him and shrugged my shoulders and said, "I don't know because you are talented?"

He and Florian chuckled and he said, "Well, that helped my case with boss man sure. But he wanted someone who was talented and could keep a secret… so."

I nodded and said, "Then it wasn't a good idea to give me a card then."

He looked at me and said, "I mean I'm allowed to record for muggles. How else would I cover for some random people?"

I nodded and he said, "Well, we are here should we get started?" 

I nodded and said, "Yeah let's do it."

(Daphne's Pov)

I was getting ready to go to the studio, I'll have to take Astoria with me since, Mom is busy with work and all. I woke up a little late and still felt sluggish, I don't know how that jerk wakes up everyday even in this cold and work out on top of it. I quickly got a shower and was standing in front of the closet thinking of what to wear, I wanted to look good. After trying many outfits I landed on this one. I wore a black jacket over a washed out AC/DC t-shirt a red checkered skirt and black combat boots.

I looked myself in the mirror and did a little twirl and smiled, he'll like it. I shook my head and said, "Focus, Daphne." I took a deep breath and went to check on Astoria. She was ready, she just wore a blue dress and was covered in a large coat and a hat. She looked at me and tilted her head and asked, "Aren't you cold?"

I shrugged my shoulders and said, "Nah, how do I look?"

She looked me up and down and said, "You look like Veronica when she started a band."

I looked at her with confusion and she said, "You look good."

I smiled and said, "Thanks."

She asked, "We should go now, it will be lunch time soon and we still have to pick up Victoria. I want to see brother singing." I nodded and took her hand and called out to Frody, he appeared before us quickly and I said, "Take us to the Potter's house." He nodded and snapped his fingers and we appeared before their door. I quickly knocked on the door so that we could leave soon.

I heard quick footsteps and Victoria's voice as she said, "I'll get it." She must me excited and there it was again that feeling. It's so odd. Victoria opened the door and she just stood there looking at me like she saw me for the first time. She asked, "You look so good. Where did you get those?"

I quickly answered with a smile, "Jon, took me shopping." I don't know why but I wanted to say this to her. 

She looked at me and looked bummed out and that made me feel sorry and she said, "I don't have anything as good as that."

I looked at her and she was wearing a yellow sweater over a white skirt and some very cute shoes and I said, "No, you look cute." She shyly smiled and said, "Thanks." And muttered "I hope he likes it." And that again made me feel some stuff and I said, "We should go now." 

She nodded and said, "Yeah, just one second." She went inside and we walked in and I saw Potter sitting there on the stairs in his pajamas playing with his gameboy and looking at me sneaking glances. I sighed and called out, "Tori, come on we'll be late!"

She replied from across the room, "Yeah, just a sec."

Potter finally got up and asked, "Where are you guys going?"

I just gave him a condescending smirk, "None of your concern…"

Potter became silent and Tori finally came and said, "Yeah, let's go!" Potter again butted in and asked her sister, "Where are you guys going?"

Tori looked at him and said, "I have mom's permission to go and I don't want to tell you… dork."

I chuckled and snapped my fingers and Frody appeared again and I said, "Let's go, girls."

Potter sighed and just waved her sister goodbye and we disappeared with a pop.

(Jon's pov)

We were now taking a small break for now, we had recoded 3 songs as of now and I think I could do three more today. Everyone was having lunch while I was just sipping on tea and munching on scones. I really wanted to eat something but that would happen after we were done for today and that wasn't happening anytime soon so.

I looked at Ed and Florian eating Chinese and I felt really envious. That orange chicken looked good. After the lunch was done or more like I was done. I went inside the boot to continue. Ed said it was fine he could do it while he ate and Florian sat there watching me while eating. He was happy with the songs so far.

I put over my headphones and the music started to flow in my ears and Ed looked at me and gave me the okay to go ahead and took a breath and started to sing while looking at the sheet.

Ed and Florian stopped eating and started to listen to the songs and they felt the lyrics of the song and Florian said with a satisfied smile, "Ah, this kid… it's hard to believe he is a kid."

Ed chuckled and said, "Yeah and his range is just terrific." Florian hummed and just enjoyed the music.

I looked at Ed and he just signalled me to go on and I nodded and continued.

There's a time that I remember, when I did not know no pain

I stopped and said, "We need to add some vocals here." He nodded and took a note and I continued. I looked at Florian and I could see his eyes pooling. I smiled and went on.

Florian chuckled and said, "I need to call some old friends after this." Ed chuckled "Same boss man."

I opened my eyes and all this time Ed hadn't paused me to stop so I didn't and I saw three people walking in and I looked at them and they all waved at me and looked excited to be here even Daphne, but the most excited was Astoria.

There's a time that I remember when I never felt so lost

Tori looked happy and clasped her hands together and slowly swayed her body while Daphne looked at me like she was trying to find some meaning behind my words.

Florian took Astoria and placed him on his lap and she clapped while the two stood there and looked at me and slowly danced even Daphne.

I stopped and Ed gave the thumbs up and I took my headphones off and asked, "How was it?"

Everyone started to pour in their praises and I chuckled and said, "Well, there is more."

Florian looked at me with concern and asked, "Are you sure? We have done 4 songs for today I think, that enough."

Daphne looked at me with anger and said, "4? I thought you said, you'll start after lunch."

Tori also looked concerned and disappointed but Ed said, "Don't worry guys, most of the songs took like 2 takes. He'll be fine to do one or two more."

I looked at Ed and he gave me a slight nod and I nodded back at him and he asked, "Which one we doing next?"

I thought about it and looked at two girls and smiled, "Oh, let's do the dumb song."
