I'm just unlucky

POV: Ren

As I walked the busy streets alone, there were many weird people walking by as well. Judging by the way it looks, everything is just the same as my world. The geography and technology is the same as well. The only difference is superpowers I guess.

Well first I need to figure out those stupid conditions or I'll be stuck here forever. And second I need to find a person I can easily fool. I don't want to get in any trouble so I should just play it safe.

"Kyaaaaaaaa! A thief!" Some lady shouted somewhere.

"Huh!"

A person was dashing in hurry pushing people away and police where after him as well. And he just happens to be running my way.

Just before the police could catch him, he grabbed a young boy and pulled out a knife. That young boy just happens to be me as well.

Damn! My luck is just downright bad since the day I found that book. My specialty was supposed to be blending in the background but that ain't working now. I'm just so freaking unlucky now!

"Don't move a step! I'll cut his throat of. Don't you care about a normal living citizen." The sweaty guy was grabbing me too tight for me to free myself. The knife wasn't far from my throat as well. But too bad I wasn't a normal citizen.

The people around me went silent not moving a step. The police froze as well. He must have a quirk as well. So I may be in a serious trouble.

But I wasn't that scared of the outcome. If I were living normally back home and this happened then I would surely be crying for help. But after all that has happened I couldn't care less now. Maybe that's because I died and think I will survive again. I don't even know if I'm a human anymore so death doesn't feel scary now. But I must get out of his grip even so.

The man was scared more than me. I could just feel him shaking.

*Baamm!

The sound of a gunshot. Apparently someone shot him down in his legs which should have made him fall immediately. But he was standing still now smiling.

"That didn't work?" The police shouted from.

His quirk was maybe self healing. That's a really overpowered quirk if you ask me. But he couldn't possibly kill me as well. He would be captured immediately if he killed me. I was probably safe for the moment.

His power may have prevented him from further pain and too much bleeding but the bullet was still stuck in his leg. That must have hurt a little. So I used this opportunity to strike myself.

I kicked his leg in the wounded area. That must have hurt, huh? Then take this!

I kicked again in the same are but this time with all my power. And then I slammed him in the ground.

"Take that you bastard!"

The police moved right after he fell on the ground and captured him. He was apparently a murder who had killed two people already during robbery. If a hero had come then I wouldn't have go through this trouble but they wouldn't take their time to capture a thief I guess.

This experience wasn't completely meaningless though. I really got something out of it. When the robber was so focused on the police, he wasn't clearly paying attention to me. At that moment I snuck out the wallet from his pocket. Nobody noticed a thing and robbing from a robber isn't bad anyway, right?

I was pretty hungry and money is plenty useful for me at the time. I had never done this in my entire life but I guess this is some specialty of mine or something.

A/N: So the couple of chapters won't be anything major. It will just focus on Ren as he gains more knowledge about the world. I hope you will like it though.
