Chapter 3

It's been a week since I woke up. I ate the fruits from trees in the outer layer of the forest and drank water from the river. Luckily my now Devil body didn't need that much food to function otherwise I'd have starved by now.

I had been trying to figure out my Destruction Magic. This is hard since Rias herself had problems controlling her power. But i got my results at least. I could now shoot projectiles of destruction. I had done a number to the trees and the environment around me. This Magic destroyed everything it touched. Luckily, I was an exception.

I was trying to create a chidori like attack with the Destruction Magic, but it just wouldn't listen to me and stay in my hands. It was difficult to control the Magic as it felt like it had a head of its own.

**ROAR!**

When I heard the sound I quickly looked towards the source. It was coming from the bushes nearby. Luckily because I had a High Devil body that had cultivated, my senses were quite enhanced.

Coming out of the bush was a red lion with a flaming mane. According to my memories this was a flaming demon lion, a low-middle rank demon beast. It was very common in the Azure Dragon Empire. It very prideful and arrogant. It usually announces its presence to its prey so that the fight is fair. But it had reason to be arrogant. It takes 2 Ki Gathering cultivators to subdue one.

It was staring at me. I could see pure confidence in its gaze. To it I was obviously a puny body strengthening cultivator who was about to become a meal.

I quickly activated the boosted gear. I couldn't hold back. After all this was my first fight. Although Zhen Lin had learn some martial arts, she also didn't have experience as she didn't use them in an actual battle.

*BOOST!*

Listening to this the lion pounced at me. I jumped to the side and luckily evaded the attack. It's speed was no joke but I wasn't gonna be killed by a cat.

It was clearly surprised that I dodged its attack. I gathered Magic in my hands and shot projectiles at the lion. It jumped the side and evaded the attack.

I quickly analyzed how ineffective my attack was and started to think of better ways of using Magic other than simple projectiles.

Seeing me lost in thought, the lion pounced again but this time with more speed. I instinctively swayed to the left dodging the attack. It turned out my body instinctively dodged some simple attacks.

I gathered more energy into the boosted gear. I obviously couldn't rely on my magic. I could feel that something was about to happen to it so I continued my supply of Magic. The boosted gear started to glow green. The lion took this chance to pounce again.

But it was a bit too late. A green aura enveloped me and the boosted gear released massive amounts of energy pushing the lion to a nearby tree. It had finally awakened and it wasn't a twice critical anymore.
