17 Chapter 17 We need to talk

"Where's she?! asked Feng Shufen anxiously and before she could reply, he said," Don't lie to me that you don't know. I know you do." Daiyu sighed before saying," The truth is that I know where she is but I can't tell you before she agrees." "Alright tell me. Who is the guy she ran with?" came the next question. "Guy? What do you mean?" she asked confused. "Don't play damn. I know that she eloped with her lover. Do I know him?" She frowned and asked," Who told you that?" "I got it from a trusted source," he replied leaning his back on the seat.

"I don't know about that. Tang Ning is at work," she said. "Where's she working? Is it here in Shanghai?" "Yes," she replied. "Give me the address." "I already told you that I can't do that without asking her first," she stated.

"Alright. At least give me her contact," he said.

The moment she left the office, Daiyu called Tang Ning. "Hey girl." "I just spoke with Feng Shufen," she said. "Oh! How is he?" asked Tang Ning. "He wants to see you. He asked for your address."

"Why? Don't tell me that you gave it to him Daiyu," she replied. "Well, no but I gave him your number," she said. "Why would you do that?" "Because he is my boss now. And perhaps, he got rumors that you eloped with a man," she reported. "Eloped with a man? Where did he get that from?" she asked. "I don't know. He's really dying to meet you and I'm sure that soon, you two are going to rekindle your love," said Daiyu.

"Stop that Daiyu! And don't give him anymore information about me," she said.

During the whole day, Tang Ning was receiving calls from the same unknown number and she refused to answer, clearly knowing who it was. By the time it came to evening, she was fed up and decided to answer and talk to him at once.

"Hello?" she spoke. "Tang Ning?" he asked. "Um. It's me." "This is Feng Shufen How are you? Where are you?"

"I'm alright," she replied. "Where are you?" he asked again. "I'm at work," she replied. "Where are you working? Send me the address." "No Feng Shufen. I won't do that." She heard him sigh before asking, "Why?"

"Because I need to focus on my job. Welcome back from the States. When did you come back?" she asked. "A week ago. Tang Ning, we have to talk. Let's meet."

"I can't. My job requires my presence full time," she replied. "So then, it's true that you ran off with a man," he remarked. "Listen, you can think whatever you want," she said.

"Tang Ning, you know that we have a lot to talk about. Four years ago- " "We should let things be, Feng Shufen. Please don't look for me. Good bye," she said. "Wait- " He couldn't complete what he was saying when she hung up.

She threw herself on the bed as she felt her mind in total chaos. First, she didn't think that she was ready for a relationship as she had a number of things to accomplish. And secondly, she didn't want to worsen the relationship with her sister which was already bad. "I don't know what to do," she murmured and then she entered her bed.

The next day as Tang Ning was still sleeping, she woke up to her phone ringing. Looking at the caller, she sat up immediately. Moyu was calling her! She picked it up quickly before it would end.

"Moyu," she called the moment she answered. "Tang Ning, how are you?" she asked. "Uh, I'm alright. Is everything okay with father?" "Yes father is alright. I called to tell you that I want to talk to you about something," said Tang Moyu. "Yes go ahead."

"Not over the phone. In person," she said before adding," You can give me your address."

She was yet to give it to her but she remembered that her boss might not like it if he ever gets to know about it.

"I will come home tomorrow. I had planned on coming to visit father," she said instead. "Alright. I will wait for you tomorrow then," she said before hanging up.

Tang Ning smiled hopefully. Giving the fact that Moyu has never taken the initiative for them to talk, she didn't know what to expect.

Hopefully, they were going to settle their differences and go back to being the sisters they were in the past.

The next day at around ten in the morning, she informed the butler that she was going to the pharmacy to get some medicine

Reaching their home, she immediately hopped off the cab and walked towards the house.

She found the caretaker cleaning the living room and greeted her before asking for her sister. "Ms Moyu is still sleeping," she informed. "Alright. Is father awake?" she asked. "Yes. I left him reading newspapers when I had gone to clear the plates," she informed and she nodded.

"I will go see him. Thank you for taking care of him," she said before leaving.

"You've grown all fat," Tang Rong commented as she sat besides him on the bed. "Come on father. Don't you know that the word fat is an insult to a woman?" she said. "Sure? Maybe I meant to say that you look healthy. How is everything?" he asked. "Not bad everything is alright. Everyone is good to me. The twins are just so adorable. How is the caretaker?" "I haven't seen anything wrong with her," he replied before adding," And Moyu, hasn't left the house in a couple of days. Maybe she is changing." "I think so too. And guess what, she called me saying that we had to talk. I'm hoping that maybe, we shall get to settle our differences," she said. "That is good then," he replied.

After spending some time with her father, Tang Ning went to Moyu's bedroom and knocked on it.

"Come in," she heard her say and opened the door then walked in. She found her sitting on her bed, still in her night wear.

"I'm happy to see you. Take a seat here," she said tapping on the bed and Tang Ning did as told.
