In a circles, The Sisters gathered. They were up to sixty witches in the room. They had left the study to a spell room close to the study.
As they stood in circles with their queen at the middle, they chanted a spell. A spell that that would unite their energy as one under the queen witch's control.
The wind blew harshly as they kept on whispering the spell. The atmosphere changed, the candles that had been lit in the room were blown off.
Soon, the harsh rush of air around the room became harsher. But, The Sisters stood their ground with their queen at the center, chanting vehemently. The spell needed great concentration and great persistence to form. It required their energy flow to have the same rhythm and bond as one.
"Et moé fui! Et moé fui! Et moé fui!" They chanted with their voice getting louder each time, their voices raised as one, their rhythm beating as one. Their energy emerged.
Like a floating light bulb, their energy rose from each of them. It moved to the center where it gathered as one. Filled with such immense power, the queen witch rose in the air.
Just as she reached reach a certain height in the air, she smiled before saying those words. "Et moé fui!!!"
The queen witch's voice echoed in every part of Melas. It was loud enough to wake every witch in the town.
Soon, dark silhouettes creeped out of the ground, growling like troubled creatures. Those silhouettes grew claws sharp enough to claw through anything.
The fae warriors that had been trying to break the protection spell turned frightened at the sight of those creatures. In horror, they stared at what would be their deaths. They knew what those creatures were.
They were shadow creatures from a hellish place called Njabír. They were usually asleep unless woken up. They were legends that had already turned myths because no one in the last thousand years had seen them. They were creatures told in stories to scare little fae children from going against the rules.
Seeing the shadow creatures crawl out of the ground from different sides, a fae warrior asked Sir Greenfield. "General, these creatures are everywhere! Shall we retreat?"
"Retreat? Retreat?" Sir Greenfield yelled in rage before throwing the fae warrior to a corner filled with shadow creatures. "Retreat is for the weak! Fighting till death is for the strong!"
The fae warriors around watched in horror as the their fellow warrior was torn to shreds by the shadow creatures.
"There is no retreat! You either fight or die!" Sir Greenfield yelled as he charged forward to strike a shadow creatures. Soon, other warriors joined the fight. But, it was a hopeless fight. Those creatures couldn't be killed.
No matter how many times those creatures were struck, they did not die. Instead, they grew stronger and killed more fae warriors.
At a time, some fae warriors abandoned their general's command and ran for dear life. They were not ready to die. They would rather be a coward than foolishly fight a hopefully battle.
As many of them tried to escape, some of them got killed.
In the midst of the fight, general Greenfield was pulled to the ground by a creature bigger than the rest of the dark creatures. It was a cursed one who fed off the soul energy of everything alive. Along with the shadow creatures, it had been woken up from a deep slumber. And like them, it was restless and hungry. It had not eaten off any living being in a thousand years.
Sir Greenfield was the first living being he had caught. It smiled at his meal. As it dragged an angry Sir Greenfield, it licked his non existent lips. Soon, Sir Greenfield was reduced to nothing but screams.
In the mansion, the queen witch stood right in front of her huge windows in her study. She watched as every fae died. She did not watch alone. The sisters stood right behind their queen, watching the demise of their enemy.
Seeing the arrogant General who had murdered her daughter and was going to murder her granddaughter get eaten by a cursed one, the queen witch smiled.
"Et non moé fui." She whispered to send all those creatures back to Njabír.
Meanwhile, Eve and Andrew were still in a part of the mansion arguing. Alex was still searching for them when he felt a presence watching him.
