Chapter One

One night, Eve's mother was in the kitchen preparing dinner while her dad was watching TV. She was somewhere close but felt like she was really far from them. She could see her parents doing their usual routine but somehow it felt like she was not there at all.

Suddenly, two men in fairy costumes armed with swords broke into their home.

What the... Are those swords?, Eve said to herself.

Before her parents realized what had just happened, something unbelievable happened.

They killed her father. Her father was not even given the chance to defend himself. It had happened so quickly.

When they turned towards Eve's mother, she attacked with her kitchen knives. Swiftly, like a skilled warrior, she killed every one of them except the one looking like he was their leader. The leader seemed too skilled to be taken down easily.

Eve's mother did not hesitate to attack him as hers and her daughter's life depended on it. She fought fiercely, matching his attack with a brilliant defence and then retaliating with a vigour she had never displayed in front of her daughter before. She seemed to be on the winning side of the fight.

Alas, she managed to stab him in his gut. She tried coming to her daughter to escape quickly but could not. A sword was stuck in her chest. Eve saw her mother stare right at her, mouthing something but Eve could not figure out what she was saying.

" Mom!" Eve screamed as she ran towards her mom. But her mom pushed her away, leaving Eve to fall to the ground. There was blood everywhere. Eve realized in horror. It looked like one of those scenes you would see in horror movies.

Eve looked up to see who had hurt her mother. The crazy Psycho paid no attention to her, but to her mother.

"All these deaths just for a child." He chuckled looking at the woman who had once been the Queen of Faeland. The woman he had stabbed without a second thought. "If you had just handed over the child to be exiled properly, you would have lived. instead, you chose to die." For years now, he had been tasked with the mission of executing the cursed princess and anyone with her. He had hoped that the former queen would be compliant with it. But instead, she had escaped with that wretched child cursed to be all of faeland's doom.

As if remembering his original task, he turned to face Eve. The man's pair of green eyes stared at her so intensely that she woke up with a gasp.

"It's just a dream... it's just a dream... it's just a dream..." Eve kept chanting to herself immediately she woke up. But deep down, she knew it was not just a dream. It felt too real to her like it was already happening at that moment.

Mom ... dad!

She needed to assure herself that it was only a dream. She checked the time and it was only seven in the evening. She could not believe she had slept through out the afternoon only to have a horrible nightmare. She ran out of her room and into the kitchen.

"Mom!" Eve shouted in desperation as she entered the kitchen. That was when she saw her mom fighting so fast like a warrior. Like the type you would see in movies.

Wait a minute...

It was real! Eve's dream was really happening right in front of her. Looking around, she could see dead bodies and one of them looked like her father.

"No..." Eve mumbled to herself, "This can not be happening." She was thoroughly terrified.

When her mom got stabbed, she could see her mouthing something. But this time, she heard exactly what her mom said.

"Run!"

But Eve could not move. She was just standing there shocked and confused.

Bang!

Something hard hit Eve's head and fell unconscious at that spot.
