Chapter 7

Sage lay in the small cave, trying to rest his exhausted body. But as he closed his eyes, he was once again transported to the void world. And this time, the memories that flooded his mind were more vivid and haunting than ever before.

He saw himself standing in the midst of a once-thriving town, flames engulfing everything around him. His teammates lay motionless on the ground, their lifeless eyes staring up at him accusingly. He could feel their anger and disappointment in him, their voices echoing in his mind.

"Why did you do this, Sage? We trusted you!"

"How could you betray us like this?"

Tears streamed down his face as he relived the pain and guilt of that fateful day. He remembered the rush of power he had felt, the uncontrollable urge to destroy everything in his path. And he remembered the fear and horror that had consumed him when he realized what he had done.

He tried to fight back the memories, but they only grew stronger. He saw the faces of the innocent people he had killed, heard their screams of terror. He saw the destruction he had wrought, the ruined buildings and charred remains.

And then, just as suddenly as it had begun, the vision faded away. Sage gasped for breath, his heart racing in his chest. He was covered in sweat, his body trembling with fear and shame.

He knew that he couldn't stay in this cave forever, hiding from his past and the horrors that awaited him in the outside world. He had to face his demons, to make amends for what he had done.

With a deep breath, he stood up and stepped out of the cave. The sun was setting, casting a golden glow across the barren wasteland. In the distance, he could see a group of infernals, their fiery bodies illuminating the darkening sky.

Sage knew that he had to fight, that he couldn't let his guilt and fear hold him back any longer. He closed his eyes, summoning the flames within him. And this time, as they surged through his body, he felt a new power awakening within him.

His hair turned white, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination. He was no longer the scared and guilt-ridden boy he had been before. He was a warrior, ready to face any challenge that came his way.

With a cry of defiance, he charged towards the infernals, his flames burning brighter than ever before. The memories of his past still haunted him, but he refused to let them control him any longer.

For the first time in a long while, he felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could find redemption and forgiveness. And with that thought in his mind, he plunged into battle, determined to face whatever lay ahead.

Kaito watched Sage disappear into the cave, his mind racing with questions. Who was this man with white hair and flames that burned as bright as the sun? Why was he traveling alone? What kind of power did he possess?

As Kaito pondered these questions, he realized that he couldn't simply stand by and do nothing. He had to find out more about Sage and the world he lived in. With that thought in mind, he set out on a journey of his own.

Over the next few weeks, Kaito traveled from town to town, asking everyone he met if they had heard of Sage Shinmon. Most people had never even heard the name, and those who had only knew him as a mysterious figure who occasionally appeared to battle infernals.

Despite this lack of information, Kaito refused to give up. He was determined to uncover the truth about Sage and his powers, no matter how long it took.

Finally, after months of searching, Kaito received a tip that led him to a small village on the outskirts of the city. There, he met an old man who claimed to have once known Sage personally.

The old man's stories were a treasure trove of information, and Kaito listened intently as he described Sage's incredible abilities and the battles he had fought. But even as he learned more about the white-haired pyrokinetic, Kaito couldn't shake the feeling that there was still so much he didn't know.

With a renewed sense of purpose, Kaito set out once again, determined to find Sage and uncover the truth behind his incredible powers. And as he journeyed across the wasteland, he knew that no matter what dangers he might face, he would never give up until he had found the answers he sought.
