Nick finally started to open his own presents after that while Ron and Harry watched curiously to see what he got. First up on the list was his own sweater made by missus Weasley that was cobalt blue in color. Nick put it on with a smile before moving on to the next package that was from Hermione. Much like the other two he received candy in the form of chocolate frogs which he immediately ate one of. Next was a small package from Daphne that contained a small box that contained a tiny white spark that Nick recognized immediately as a cold fire flame seed.-
Cold fire was a strange magical fire that formed in extremely frigid environments when a magical flame goes out in just the right way. It was however amongst the easier fire's to obtain thanks to a wizard that discovered how to create the flames artificially. Nonetheless it was a wonderful gift to receive for Nick and he stored it away in Greed immediately. Tracy's gift was merely more chocolate frogs but Nick was still happy to get them. Flitwick also sent Nick a gift in the form of a tome of crafting related spells.-
This was extremely precious information and Nick was eager to dive into it but held off and stored the tome in Greed for later. Hagrid had also sent Nick a gift in the form of a bundle of demiguise fur which confused Ron and Harry until Nick explained that the fur was used to create invisibility cloaks similar to Harry's. Nick knew that much like Harry's gift his wasn't something bought by Hagrid but collected himself , likely from the forbidden forest that had a small population of demiguise within it. Contrary to what it may seem Hagrid was very wealthy from all these years collecting and selling the discarded materials of the forbidden forest.-
The final gift after that was a gift from Dumbledore that surprised Nick quite a bit considering how tense the relationship between the two of them was. It was a simple quill made from a red and gold feather that he recognized as Fawkes's. There was a note attached to the quill that Nick read quietly. {Fawkes and I wish you the happiest of holidays and hope to see the marvels held in your future. -Sincerely Albus Dumbledore.} Nick cautiously checked the quill for any unusual magic but there was none.-
It was a simple quill made with the feather of a phoenix which was anything but simple for anyone other than Dumbledore himself. He stored the quill away before finally standing up "hurry up and get dressed so we can go get breakfast." he said with a grin as his friends scrambled to find a proper pair of pants to wear. The twins were already in the common room waiting on Ron and their older brother Percy. "Oh? Would you look at that our favorite firstie and Harry both have Weasley sweaters and even ronikins has his own on." Fred said with a surprised expression.-
The reason Nick knew it was Fred was because that particular twin had a ring on his left hand and the letter G on his sweater. The twins had this habit of swapping identifying things between them to the point that if you figured out which of them was which you could rely on this to find which of them was Fred and which was George. "I take it you both were pleased with your gifts?" Nick asked with a knowing smirk. "Very much , oh the things we will accomplish!" George said excitedly.-
Ron looked suspicious of the conversation since he knew his brothers well and the only thing that got them so excited was pranks. Still he was distracted from this when Percy finally showed up without wearing his sweater despite holding it. The twins pretty much forced the older boy into spending the day with his family rather than with the other prefects. To be fair he didn't exactly argue with it either so it didn't take much effort. Breakfast was a special time as the entire great hall had been decorated in christmas themes and even the enchanted ceiling has christmas lights floating overhead.-
Everyone was in a good mood as all of the professors even Snape seemed slightly receptive to the cheer of this day. It hadn't been mentioned previously but for the potion professor Nick had created a book that contained nothing save for potion recipes that had been lost to time that he found in the "ancient" section of the library. This gift clearly pleased the man as he wasn't even half as moody as normal. Flitwick was happily flying loops overhead with his chakram while Mcgonagall had an audience as she used her playmaker ring with great joy.
