Chapter 132: Ron's accusations

The students lined up and came forward to hug Professor Lupin. They all hugged the werewolf.

Such a seemingly simple action not only represented their great courage, but was also a sign of trust.

They whispered to Professor Lupin and spoke words from the depths of their hearts.

Many students were moved and burst into tears.

Only the Slytherin students and Ron stood there turning their backs as if they had nothing to do with them.

"This is touching and all, but what does this tell us?" said Lucius quietly. "All I saw was a bunch of fools who weren't afraid of being killed by a werewolf."

"You just said you needed proof Here it is!" Harry looked at Lucius and shouted, "What more do you want? Professor Lupin is obviously innocent; he didn't attack us at all. He's safe."

"Tut-tut, you stupid boy, if I were you, I wouldn't believe him. Werewolves are not to be trusted." Lucius looked disdainfully at Harry and said with a smirk, "So far he hasn't bitten you. Probably because it's crowded, or..."

"Or because there are so many people here that it affects his appetite." Snape followed Lucius, grimly. "We all know that, like a true wolf, werewolves have a habit of killing solitary prey."

He looked at Lupin mischievously, and his small black eyes glittered.

"Severus...," Dumbledore reminded him softly.

"I know you trust him, Headmaster!" Snape did not look at Dumbledore. His gaze was fixed on Lupin, and he said in a most disgusted tone. "But he has betrayed your trust, even though he took the Wolfsbane potion tonight, due to the nature of the werewolf, he couldn't help but attack the students, Weasley can prove it."

At that moment, Ron said in a monotone voice, "I can prove that this werewolf tried to attack me..."

"Ron! Do you know what you're talking about?" Harry looked at Ron angrily, clenching his fists as his body trembled.

"I'm just telling the truth, Harry!" Ron didn't look into Harry's eyes. He turned his head to the side and continued in a dull, monotone voice. "That werewolf is not to be trusted. He might hurt us We can't risk it!"

"Unlike other werewolves, Professor Lupin is innocent!" Harry shouted, Ron's words made him shudder, he gasped heavily. "We proved it, we embraced it. We..."

"Just a bunch of brave fools!" Lucius sneered, "You may not even know that there's a werewolf riot going on outside the school tonight. You may not realize the seriousness of this incident. As she spoke, she turned around and looked at Ron standing in the corner.

"Mr. Weasley?" asked Fudge in an uncertain tone.

"Yes, this werewolf attacked me!" Ron whispered back, "I will formally file a complaint with the Ministry of Magic."

"You're lying, Professor Lupin is innocent!" That was the straw that broke the camel's back; Harry's voice was violently raised. He mumbled reluctantly, his tears spilling out of control.

Ron said in a bored voice, "As I said before, I'm just telling the truth."

"Very well, Mr. Weasley! Regarding your accusations, formal acceptance from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement will be sent to you tomorrow. Now we must hurry and get back. Tonight has been really terrible," Fudge continued, "there is still a werewolf riot waiting for me to deal with. Fortunately we caught one of them."

"No!" Harry quickly stopped Fudge and tried to make a final effort.

Fudge stepped back and glared at Harry and the other young wizards standing in front of Lupin.

"Get away, Potter, you've caused enough trouble!" Snape shouted. "We're saving you from this werewolf!"

"I'm fine, I don't need your rescue!" Harry gasped, shouting reluctantly: "I don't know what happened to Ron tonight, but I can prove that Professor Lupin is innocent. He had a hundred chances to hurt me this year! I've been alone with him many times and learned from him how to resist Dementors. If he wanted to bite me or kill me, why didn't he do it then?"

"Don't ask me about a werewolf's mind." Snape drew his wand and said dryly. "I repeat, stand aside, Potter!"

Harry did not speak. He stood with his arms outstretched in front of Professor Lupin and showed his determination with actions.

Ivan, Hermione and other young wizards also stepped forward and glared at Snape.

"All right, Snape!" said Fudge frantically. "Don't blame them. These children have experienced some very terrible things today. Greyback has just struck in Hogsmeade. Now they find themselves before their most trusted teacher transformed into a werewolf. These things will surely upset them..."

"Hold on, Minister!" Ivan hastened to say. "I think Ron's allegations are invalid. It may be because..."

"Ivan, on that matter, I want to speak to you alone," Dumbledore said suddenly, interrupting Ivan's words.

Ivan blinked and looked at Dumbledore in astonishment. He clearly hadn't said anything yet. What did the headmaster want to talk to him about?

Or rather, did he already know that Ron was being controlled?
