Junior Spring Tournament.

We had reached an agreement where both teams could practice. Our victory had spread around the school, encouraging more students to try out for volleyball. We currently had a squad of nine players.

Yukigaoka Boys Official Team:-

Hinata Shoyo - Ace/Captain

Kaze Kyota - Setter/Vice Captain

Sato Jun - Middle Blocker/ 2nd Vice

Kinisa Mori - Libero

Kimura Akio - Outside Hitter

Yamamoto Sota - Outside Hitter

Sasaki Kenzo - Middle Blocker

Ishii Minato - Wing Spiker

Hayashii Yuto - Server

Regarding the court situation, both boy's and girl's teams had equal say and got assigned similar time for training.

Now, We had the Spring tournament coming up in 5 weeks. We had requested Itori-sensei to take a month-long training course to make us as strong as possible. We had also been playing together a lot, developing different strategies.

We practiced our personal skills and team skills together. We even played matches by dividing the team, a 3v3 or a 4v4, sometimes a 4v5 to make it interesting.

The coach had us do drills every day, He wanted us to know the basics as if they were a part of us. Receiving was the most important, If we couldn't keep the ball up, We could never pose a real fight.

The 5 weeks breezed past before we knew it, it was surreal walking on our first Volleyball Court. We were about to have our first match.

Yukigaoka Junior High vs Izumitate Junior High

Yep, We were fighting Captain Sawamura's team. Apparently, they were to face Furusan North Middle, but the school did not qualify this year, instead, we did and now I have to be the one who shuts down Daichi's last year in Junior High.

It's not like I'm gonna back down.

Hinata was right, courts smelled amazing, there was something soothing about it.

"Hello everyone, We will be beginning with the first match of the day and the tournament, It's going to be Izumitate Junior High a school that has never qualified for knock-out rounds versus Yukigaoka Junior High a team that has just been established, a team full of first years. Let's see who wins today!"

"Look at them openly disrespecting us." I said as I walked up to my future captain.

"Huh, Hahaha. Yeah, they don't seem to care. Let's have a good match today."

"Call it when you're ready." Said the Referee.

"Tails, unless you wanna go first." I said putting my hands up.

"No, I'm good with heads, Thank you." He said with a chuckle.

"Alright, Heads for Izumitate and Tails for Yukigaoka." The referee said as he tossed the coin.

I looked up as it turned in the air, 'Why is it that this moment feels longer than it should?' I thought as I felt this every time, I could almost see every flip of the coin.

*Clink* The coin fell to the ground.

"Heads it is, Would you like to serve first?" The referee asked Daichi.

"No, they may serve first." Daichi said with a smile.

'A depressing choice, to have to shut him down so early.' I thought as I smiled too.

"Sure, go easy on us Senpai!" I said as I turned around.

"We lost the toss." I said as I approached my team, I picked up a volleyball as everyone assumed positions.

"Hey, you said we lost, right?" Asked Jun, loud as ever.

"Yep, they chose for us to serve first." I said.

"So, we lost the toss but still won? This is weird." Said Jun.

I have been practicing my Spike Serve for the last 5 years, I may not have the most power due to my age but in skill, I had them beat.

I looked at the team in front of me

The final team was:-

Hinata Shoyo - Ace/Captain

Sato Jun - Middle Blocker/ 2nd Vice

Sasaki Kenzo - Middle Blocker

Ishii Minato - Wing Spiker

Kinisa Mori - Libero

We even gave Jun a title, after he threw several tantrums. I was confident, and that was all I required. The rest, I had practiced enough.

I took a deep breath and tossed the ball up.

*Bam*

The ball planted itself right in the center. It was fast, too fast, I could understand from their faces, that they hadn't seen something like this before after all they never made it past round 1.

"What!? Did you all see that, A No-Touch Ace by Yukigaoka's Ace and captain, Hinata Shoyo!" Said the commentator, "It's only one point, the first point but that definitely shook all members of Izumitate" He continued.

"Alright, Alright, Let's stop the next one." Said Daichi.

They were not all No-Touch Ace's but I got 5 points before they could stop me.

The scoreboard showed [0-5] as their libero finally got the ball up, they had two hitters lined up front, and the setter had to choose one.

"Left!" Called one out, and on my gut feeling, I yelled. "Stop him Akio!" The response was 2 players on the left with one staying on the right.

*Bam*

The setter surprised everyone with a dump attack.

"Nice Kill!" Yelled one of the hitters.

[1-5] showed the scoreboard.

The rest of the match went on quite well, they soon realized I was the only one who was difficult to stop. Jun, Mori, and Kyota were amazing but physical limits were a pain.

We won the set, [15-25]

I too realized that this was going to be a good day, we were going to win 2-0, straight sets on our first game. Losing the first set to a team of freshies with little guidance and practice would definitely put some pressure on you.

"As the teams take a break, let's shower some attention to the game next court, Yako Junior High vs. Yurisei Junior High, where the Miya twins seem unstoppable and have brought home the first set, [19-25]."

'Ahh, The Miya Twins vs. The Future Little Giant. That would be a great match!' I thought as I drank some water.

The remainder of the match was not really interesting, we won [18-25].

We also found out, we'll be up against Sakumoto Junior next, they were probably a background team.

Kitagawa was up against Yurisei, Miya twins vs The Great King.

These 2 matches were going to take place tomorrow, on side by side courts.

I'm finally going to meet some of the main cast tomorrow. I'll even get to see Kageyama.

Yukigaoka might have gotten 2 easy opponents but after tomorrow's match only monster teams will remain and we will be one of them.
