Guardian of the Pacific: The Incredible Adventures of the Giant Turtle

The boy woke up as a giant turtle in the Pacific Rim. This is a story about a guy with a good moral compass. If you want to read how MC destroys cities and sinks ships, then this fanfic is not for you. There will be no magical transformation back into a human. This is my first fanfic. English is not my native language, so I used a translator. In the first chapters, I used GPT for some paragraphs of text, but the result is not satisfactory. Then everything is manual work. I do not own the rights to the universe and characters in this story.

POV: Dr. Newton

In Alaska, at the Jaeger base, many people were engaged in various activities. There were not only people who served the Jaeger and people who produced them. A factory was built near the base to produce parts and repair broken robots. In order for the base to work, thousands of people of various professions were involved. There were even dozens of cleaners and cooks here.

Also, a research complex was built here, where more than a thousand people worked. Perhaps such a large number will surprise someone, because it would seem that these people do not produce anything new and they should not call themselves scientists at all. But not everything is so simple.

Crafting or repairing a Jaeger requires a lot of intelligence. Even creating one cog requires a lot of effort. You need to know what material to make it from and what load it can withstand. After everything is calculated, someone will come and say that bolts should not be used at all. And so many people worked here for such questions.

Technology was not the only research that was conducted here. The world was changing very quickly, and people were studying these changes. Although these studies were mainly carried out by various institutes, here at the base in Alaska there was also a department for the study of the Kaiju and the impact of Torterra on the world.

In one of the rooms Dr. Newton was sitting at his desk. He looked into the microscope and dripped a drop of "water" onto the glass. Dr. Newton was very careful to record everything he saw under the microscope. Next, he took out a tube of red blood and used a pipette to drip one drop onto the glass.

"Another successful attempt. It seems there aren't as many side effects as I thought," the doctor said quietly.

HA HA HA

Outside the door of the laboratory, Newton heard the laughter of many people. He became interested in what was happening there, so he decided to take a break. He got up from his workplace and went to the door. Quickly opening the door, he was greeted by the sound of conversation and laughter.

There was a large plasma monitor in the hall of the research department. Many young people gathered in front of the monitor, and they were all drinking beer and having fun.

"Why are you making such a fuss? It's working time, and you're disrupting work." said Dr. Newton.

"It's 1 a.m. now! Relax, have a beer with us. You will become a turtle before the end of your work," after these words, the people around laughed.

"I will not become a turtle! And I do my job for the military!" Dr. Newton defended himself. From time to time he was mocked because people did not understand how you could mix your blood with the blood of an animal. Although it was the blood of a Titan, not an animal.

"Yes Yes. We believed you. You even have Kaiju-shaped slippers," looking at Dr. Newton's feet, the people noticed that he was wearing soft Kaiju-shaped slippers with blue round eyes.

HA HA HA

"It's hard to work all the time in hard shoes!"

"We know. We're all wearing slippers now, but we don't have the same style as you."

"I have Torterra slippers." Someone said sitting in the back. This person raised his foot and revealed his Torterra slippers.

"Just shut up. You're just as bigoted as he is."

"People, look, look, he doing something again!" Someone pointed a finger at the monitor, and everyone immediately turned their heads there.

The monitor showed Torterra digging up a stone and placing it on top of another stone. A moment later he finds another stone and carefully places it on top of the previous two. Then another and another stone and so on until he had a strange structure as tall as himself. This structure looked very shaky. It would seem that if a butterfly sat on top, this structure would immediately fall. But, fortunately, there are no butterflies on the moon and there is no wind there. Therefore, this tower of stones will stand until a meteorite hits it.

"Unbelievable. He's just having fun there. Such freedom! He doesn't care about the lack of atmosphere, he doesn't care about the +130 degrees C heat. He can do whatever he wants there." People around were delighted.

"aaaa-ha-ha. He's scratching his ass again. Moon dust is pouring out of him, he didn't need to dig so brutally."

Torterra kept scratching himself because there was a lot of dust stuck in his armor. Every time people made fun of him.

"Doesn't he know that everything he does is broadcast live?" asked Dr. Newton. He knew about the events that were happening now and followed them, but he didn't have time to watch it all day.

"Apparently not. There is no sound in space, the drone flies silently and quite high, so I don't think he noticed it. We're even betting when he notices it's being filmed."

"He's drawing something... What? Is this a flower?"

"This is so cute," said one of the girls here.

"HAHAHAHA! He wiped it out! Looks like our rough guy is soft on the inside."

Jokes and laughter filled the room. Some were drunk, and some were just dozing on the chair next to them. Dr. Newton returned to his laboratory with irritation. He had a higher status than the people here and was spoken to with respect during working hours, but outside of work he was considered an oddball.

'All you can do is envy him. Worthless people! When I'm done, I'll be able to walk on the moon without a spacesuit and you'll all look like underdeveloped apes in my eyes,' thought Newton.

Along with the opportunity to become a half-titan came to him many dreams and wishes. All doors will open before him and he will become the strongest being. As humans dominate animals, so the demi-titans will dominate humans. With human intelligence and the power of Titan blood, he will be able to become a superior being.

POV: Torterra

I was in no hurry to return to earth. First, it was necessary to find a large enough solid rock. Secondly, the results of scanning the earth by new satellites were not yet ready.

Taking my time, I decided to get creative. The first drawing on lunar dust or the first sculpture, the first house built from molten dust: you could do anything. It was only necessary to have a good imagination.

However, after a whole day of travel, I felt a discomfort inside me. The feeling was not strong, but the longer I was in space, the stronger it became.

I didn't have enough oxygen. It was not expected for me. I haven't even been in the vacuum for three days and I've already felt the lack of oxygen. I felt the urge to exhale, and I instinctively did so, but there was no filling.

At this rate, in a month or two, it will be difficult for me to be here. It seems that even when underwater, I still get a tiny amount of oxygen, so I could live underwater for years. But there was nothing here to sustain life.

'You can forget about long journeys to other planets...' I thought disappointedly. Earlier I had an idea to fly to the asteroid belt in search of resources, but obviously this idea is not possible yet. The distance was too great and the resources would not be able to be delivered to Earth due to gravity and the atmosphere.

The best option is to deliver asteroids to the moon and then transport already processed ore on ships. But why fly so far when you can get everything you need in moon? I'm sure the moon has a lot of useful stuff like gold or platinum.

BBRRRR

I felt the communicator vibrate on my arm and looked at his monitor. The first scan results have arrived. On the monitor was a map of the earth, on which blue spots were visible. These blue spots were places infected with blue blood.

"It's time to do what is planned. We are suspending the live stream for "technical reasons" to maintain confidentiality." I read the message from Marshall and I was surprised.

'Live broadcast?' I started to look around a little shocked. I had the feeling that I was being watched. Looking up, I noticed a device that looked like a quadcopter with 4 jet engines. I noticed him when he was flying towards the lunar base.

'Are you saying that I've been watched this whole time?' I asked a rhetorical question to myself with a depressed look.

The reason we had to go off the air was so no one would see us drop a fireplace on Antarctica. The map made by the satellites clearly showed that the largest concentration of White Thorns was precisely in Antarctica.

Even with the fact that I spent a whole week killing Kaiju there, there were still a lot of them. It felt like I hadn't reduced their population at all.

Unfortunately, there were other nests at the bottom of the ocean in the world, but more than 80% were located at the South Pole. By dropping an asteroid there, it was possible to destroy them all in one blow without contaminating the planet with radiation. It was the best option people had right now.

The rest of the nests can be dealt with by humans using non-nuclear deep-sea missiles or by Torterra clones. In a word, no one will allow other nests to live peacefully.

Now that people had the blue toxin card, they would be able to protect themselves. There will be no more surprise attacks and the White Thorns will not be able to hide.

"Broadcast has been interrupted." Another message came on the communicator.

That meant it was time for me to go back. It's fun in Moon, but I can't live here forever.

"Earth is still the best place to live. If a person wants to live in Moon, then he can close himself for a couple of years in the basement - it will be almost the same. But for tourism, this is without a doubt the best place.' Having made this conclusion, I went to look for a rock of the right size.
