Past and profit

Keith had returned home, not exactly home as he was staying in his office for a bit.. planning for this kind of a heist took time and effort, more importantly Keith had promised something he wanted to deliver.. luckily he could simply wait for his gear to arrive..

Just like with his bikes, he had gotten most of his own possessions out of the police bust, with them the blueprints for a jammer, more specifically the jammer his former crew had used during their attempt at getting in to a national reserve..

Their attempt was valiant, but flawed.. just something that went to shit really.. he could remember the day that it happened..

-

Keith who was still running with the name Vince had gotten his crew together, they had planned for weeks if not months, and finally their time had come.. they had placed the jammers in the national reserve, and would enter with the help of a fumigation problem they had created.. the masks would hide their faces while they worked, and the baggy clothing and equipment hid their gear equally so..

The plan was to get in and get to the vault unnoticed, they weren't foolish enough to not have a contingency, but even if they were noticed they could get in.. the alarm didn't prevent the vault from opening, it just send out a signal to the team of armed security in the building and outside of the building… alerting them of a attempt on the gold reserve..

The bank didn't just hold gold, it also had normal cash flow that they could get inside and outside the main vault.. lockboxes and stashes of cash were all around the lower floors ready for grabs, but only if they had time..

The beginning of the plan went without a hitch, they had gotten in, knocked out the guards to the vault and were now waiting for their hacker to complete the final task for them to get in..

It was the hackers task to get the signal to open the vault, sadly the key couldn't be generated before hand as it changed every thirty seconds or so, thus they had to get him in and allow him time to crack security and get them into the vault..

The hacker had promised them that he knew of the way in.. and that he would be able to get them in within a couple of minutes, sadly that was not true.. the moment he had started problems arose.. he was biting his tongue and sweating even before he begun, but truly began to panic the moment he saw the system he had cracked many times before..

"Shit!" the hackers voice was low, but easily picked up by everyone around them

"What is it!?" Keith had turned to the hacker looking on his screen..

"They have updated the security.." Keith wasn't to sure why it happened, but suspected that their hacker had been to confident, leaving behind traces from his practice attempts, thus resulting in the bank increasing security, or it had been simple bad luck..

"Can you still crack it?" His crew had heard them of course, all beginning to get stressed at the notion that they couldn't get in..

"I think so yes.." It turned out he couldn't..

Soon after they had reached the vault, the bodies they had left behind were found, resulting in the alarm being sounded.. luckily no alert was send out to anyone outside of the building so only the trained security personnel would come to them..

The shootout took around twenty minutes, with the hacker still not being able to open the vault, one of the crew members got injured in that time.. all lead Keith to decide to retreat.. if they could make it out of the bank then they were save..

He made a plan to let the injured guy go with the hacker and the others, leaving him and his best shooter behind to hold them off.. if they could get out and get a car then the escape would be a success..

Once they were gone, he and his longest standing crew member, Barry fought for their lives eventually getting to a room with some daily cash stored.. they decided that it was better then nothing and packed it up.. the money was close to one hundred thousand, but not nearly enough to cover the cost of everything they had put into this..

Luckily Barry and him were eventually able to escape, the crew they had send out didn't contact them again, so they just went to their safehouse, once there they watched the news and learned that the three guys that went with the hacker had died, and only the hacker still lived, being captured alive and taken to be questioned.. that revelation caused panic to spread between them…

Barry grabbed the bags and other things, while Keith grabbed some of the equipment he had worked on.. his fingerprints were on most of the guns he had, furthermore the equipment was mostly used without gloves..

As he was clearing everything he heard Barry flee, Keith had decided not to chase after him and instead clear everything out and put in in his van..

Keith remembered how the save house looked when he was done.. almost everything was tuned upside down with everything that was of importance either being destroyed or in his car, finally he decided to destroy everything that remained, by placing some c4 charges inside of the building, blowing them up once he was outside the blast radius..

While he drove he called Barry, connecting to him he heard Barry's voice clearly in somewhat of a stressed state..

"Barry, where are you going.. we can work this out together.." Keith was driving to his house while he talked..

["Listen Vince.. I cant do this anymore man… I.. I a.am leaving.."] Barry hung up the phone… leaving Keith with somewhat of a view as to where he would be going..

Barry had been in his crew the longest, a true friend.. he was a good shot, being one of the best.. but he lacked courage and confidence in himself.. also being quite skittish around people, Barry had talked about these problems, but Keith trusted him to hold it together on a job.. but now.. everything had fallen down.. all of their work had turned to shit.. and there was nothing they could do..

Keith wanted to blame Barry, but he understood it in the end..

After hiding for a while and preparing to leave, Keith had collected everything he needed in one garage.. in boxes of stuff were his equipment and other plans, also some guns he had collected.. furthermore there were his bikes.. a collection he had worked hard on and one he promised himself to bring with him..

The moving company he used was one that the mafia owned, so they wouldn't keep records of the stuff, but it did cost extra..

He had prioritised the bikes to be delivered, but moving them across the country took time.. but looking at these reports revealed that the mafia he had employed went down in a bust.. explaining the lack of bikes that were coming in… the best way to handle this was to, of course..

"Stacy!" Keith shouted for his assistant, in his mind SecuroServ would do a competent job at delivering his assets across America..

"Yes boss?" Stacy appeared around the corner, wearing her usual black professional suit with white blouse underneath..

"I want you to get some of my assets moved from New York, to Los Santo's.. can you do that?" It wasn't as much of a question as a task..

"Of Course boss.. what kind of assets are they?" depending on the size and the kind of asset it was the price and difficulty would increase..

"Guns, explosives, designs for jammers and most importantly motor bikes.. it total it will be around 8 bikes and say 4 boxes the size of a big fridge.." Keith figuratively measured out the size he was referring to..

"Ah.. of course.. how would you like to have them moved?" it didn't really mind Keith how his things got here, he just wanted them to arrive before they would hit the bank.. maybe test some of the jammers out before hand..

"Just get the assets here fast.. by train or by plane… just as long as the assets get here.." Plane would be the fastest, but would likely be checked by security before boarding.. a train would be somewhat saver..

"I will look into it sir.." Stacy left to go back to her desk.. forgetting to get the address and other details before doing so..

Keith sighed writing down everything she needed.. he had stored everything in a garage, the key to the garage was a electronic code that changed every day.. he had a app that tracked it and messaged him and a friend of his in the mafia.. so he would need to lend his code to his assistant..

As he confirmed everything he needed he got a text from Devin Weston's assistant, or as she revered to herself Lawyer and chief advisor of Devin Weston, Molly Schultz.. in the text she confirmed that the time was right to move the cars and to get himself ready along with anyone else that wanted to deliver the cars..

Keith didn't mind driving alone, but there was no fun to it and more importantly somewhat dangerous, as he would be driving a truck with stolen vehicles on the back of it.. thereby making him unable to flee from the possible cops that would likely pursue him..

Stealing cars was easy.. but the unique once they had would likely be recognised my someone or the other.. so the chances of a cop getting at them were there.. not extremely likely, but you could never be to careful..

Texting both the three others, he asked if they all wanted to deliver the truck together.. getting no response from any of them.. he wasn't quite sure what they were doing, but still didn't expect none of them to reply..

Keith just forgot about it.. they were all probably busy with something at the moment, he had given a time for them to meet if they wanted to, and was planning on going even if the rest were unavailable..

Finishing up at his desk he got up from it and walked to the front placing down a piece of paper on his assistance desk..

Biding her goodbye, Keith went down to the parking lot, getting into his car and starting her up.. he still had sixteen hours before he would need to go deliver the cars for Devin.. so until then he would go manage his business..

He had confidence in his cab business, he had already seen most of it, but had promised to come by at the end of the week to review their profits.. while at it he could even check how his cinema was doing..

The cab company had been generating around five thousand dollars in profit every week, with some weeks doing better than others.. the business had been operating for a couple of weeks by now, but still needed to be active for around two years, before it would become a positive investment..

Keith didn't mind the time it would take.. as the investment was his own money, so he would get two hundred sixty thousand each year.. and he knew that there weren't enough VIP clients interested in their services, yet..

Confirming that everything was running properly Keith left, going towards his second business. The doppler cinema.. he had infested more into the business than with the other, but if everything was going well he would be getting back more than ever..

He had already seen his money increase weekly, but wanted to check if everything was operating properly.. receiving money while doing nothing was nice, but if he could get more, wouldn't that be even better..

Stepping into the cinema he walked towards the managers office, inside was Richard, the manager..

"Richard, how has the cinema been going as of late?" Richard looked up, surprised by the sudden visit of the owner..

"The business.. well it has been doing good, profits are up ten precent with the inclusion of your investment and you should be going green in.. " Richard tipped something, eventually turning his computer to face Keith.

"Approximately one year and three months.." Keith smiled hearing it.. on the screen the income and expenses were shown.. but most importantly the profit..

"That's great, I trust no other issues have come up?" The cinema was making one hundred and fifty thousand each week, nearly as much as what the cab business did in a year..

"Well I have noticed a slight decline in people going to some movies, but we are scheduled to get the premier of a up and coming movie from Solomon Richards, the movie producer.." Keith liked watching movies.. but even he noticed that the quality of some of the new productions was no where near some of the older classics..

He had heard the manager, nothing was really wrong so Keith could enjoy himself "That's great.. listen, keep me up to date if anything else comes up.. we don't want to let problems grow.. am I right?"

"Of course sir.." Richard smiled nervously as Keith exited his office, going towards the ticket booth.
