Lifting The Veil

[POV Mason's Room]

A young brown haired teen with skin as white as snow, watched as a drop of blood fell of his right index finger into a open candle flame that rose up for a second surprising the boy as it seeming rushed towards him for a mere moment.

"Ανοίξτε τα μάτια μου για να δω το πέπλο που έχει τοποθετηθεί στα μάτια μου, σε αντάλλαγμα δίνω το αίμα μου για να αποδείξω την αφοσίωση."

The boy uttered these words without hesitation once he finished speaking the flames turned blood red and rose up in a flash striking his eyes causing him to fall back and writhe in pain his hands clenched to try to cope with the pain he bit down on his shirt.

5 Minutes Later...

The boy was drenched in sweat his eyes glowed a bright blue as he haggardly breathed in an out. The mental and physical toll that the boy took was apparent. But his eyes looked on with amazement as if he was observing something breathtaking.

I*Deep Exhale* never want to do* Deep Inhale* again." The boy muttered in between breaths; slowly but surely his breathing was becoming more stable and less frantic.

"I should probably go to bed I'm feeling extremely tir..ed." The young teen mumbled as he tried getting up, but before he could he passed out due to his apparent exhaustion sleeping silently and soundly.

Meanwhile two metallic marionettes began to clean up the mess made by the boy disposing of any evidence of what he did even bandaging his finger. One of them picked up the knife he pricked his finger with and began to clean off the blood on it and then proceeded to put it into a drawer. While the second Marionette put the books laying next to the boy on the book shelf.

12 Hours Later...

A teenage girl with brown hair and light brown eyes much like the sleeping teen boy who laid upon the floor of the room she just rushed into. Her skin was as pale as the boys yet she did not have the bags that were under his eyes. She wore a violet skirt that went past her thighs, while wearing a pink sweatshirt with a fairy on the front with sparkles all around the fairy, she was wearing plain white socks on her feet.

She rushed to the boy and began to shake him awake while shouting.

"Wake up Dipper!"

"C'mon dipper wake up already!"

"Mom made bacon pancakes if you don't get up we'll eat it all!"

All the while shaking the teenage boy who had opened his eyes drowsily which then became extremely wide with surprise or some other emotion. All the while his eyes were glowing blue ever so slight his eyes left trails of blue light that was only there for a few seconds as he went back and forth

"I'm awake."

I spoke all the while getting shook yet she kept shaking him while saying.

"Dipper wake up!"

"Damn it Mable I'm awake!"

Which finally got her attention and she finally stopped shaking me I felt slightly dizzy with how much and how fast she shook me. His eyes lost their glow a few seconds after he stopped being shook and once he looked up at his sister they were the light chocolate brown that anyone who knew him were familiar with.

"Come on sleepy head you've been asleep all morning ."

The boy seemed annoyed when he heard the girl act like she didn't shake him more than a soda can. The boy glared at her yet she never lost her upbeat attitude.

The boy sighed and seemed to give up on making the girl realize she went overboard.

"I'll be down in around ten minutes, I want to get dressed at the very least."

"Alrighty! I'll let mom and dad know. Seeya in a few minuts!" The girl spoke out while the boy closed the door behind her.

Then he headed to his intricate dark oak dresser, He opened it to reveal various sweatshirts hung up and a few dress shirts and even a black tuxedo. He grabbed a plain black sweatshirt with a pocket in the front that was open on both sides perfect for fitting his hands in. He then picked out a black puma shirt to go with a black pair of shorts. His clothes were somewhat baggy due to not being tight fitting clothing.

[POV Mason Pine's]

'I should probably brush my teeth after I finish eating.'

I thought to myself as I picked up butter bot and them headed to my door immediately opening my door when I was close enough and began to head down the stairs.

'I can't wait to finally get to learning some magic, I wonder what kind of cool spells I'll learn. Though nobody will care anyways just like always.'

'But who cares in the end if I can find out why everyone's been ignoring me that's only a plus. And I shouldn't show people my magic anyways chances are the government will probably try kidnapping me legally by telling my parents I've been selected for some kind of program.'

"Good morning my lil Dippy."

The familiar voice of my mother quickly snapped me out of my dark thoughts and brought a smile to my face.

One of the few people who seemed to care about me, my mom I then looked to my dad who was smiling aswell.

'I can't imagine how I'd be if I didn't know these two were concerned about me, it's a good thing I heard my mom talking to dad about how I seemed to be depressed.'

'I'm thankful for the fact I at least have a loving family, even if my sisters been getting all sorts of attention in school.'

I them saw what was on the table which put me an even better mood it was bacon pancakes, the best food ever! It combines two of the best breakfast foods to make an even better meal.

"Wow you made my favorite food, thank you so much mom!"

I then noticed a pitcher with what appears to be freshly squeezed orange juice. In an instant I knew dad made the orange juice with grapefruit just how I liked it.

"Wheres my thanks Dipper, I went through all that effort to make you freshly squeezed orange juice."

My dad spoke out in mock pain, as if his feelings were hurt.

"Thank you too dad, I can't wait to eat."

"Then sit down already you dork." Mable remarked.

I just smiled in return and then sat down and set butter bot on the table. Interactions like this is what keeps me going now a days.

I began to dig in slicing open the pancake that had melted butter mixed with syrup the mixture oozed into the incision I began to create, I heard the satisfying crunch of the bacon breaking as I finished cutting through part of the pancake and then I moved onto the next with my fork in my right hand and knife in my left. I cut away until I finally had a section of the pancake removed and then I stabbed my fork into the seemingly perfect wedge and placed into my mouth and began to chew away as I felt the bacon crumbling apart as I chewed on it. The taste was just as amazing I remembered I loved the sweetness of the maple syrup and that nice maple flavor that went so well with the hickory smoked bacon, that was then cooked in a frying pan.

"Hey butter bot could you pass the butter?"

My dad asked which caused butter bot to come to life.

"It'd be my pleasure Mr.Pines."

The rectangular robot the picked up the butter and made it's way to the other side of the table with a stick of butter in its version of hands.

"Thank you butter bot."

My dad spoke out as he buttered a slice of toast he had.

"So Dipper, and Mable we've been thinking about going on a cruise for the summer about one week after school ends give or take. And so we thought it'd be the perfect time for you two to get out of town and get a change of scenery maybe make some new friends." My father said bluntly not even trying to use a conversation starter.

"It'll give you two a chance to meet your uncle Stan, I'm sure it'd be a blast." My mother added.

"That'd be amazing! I'd love to go on an adventure! Oooh I could maybe even get a grappling hook."

My sister spoke out excitedly reacting very positively to the news though I feel as if she wants to leave this town for some other reason beyond the one she stated.

'Hmm it's not like I have much of a choice on the matter, though a change of scenery could be nice maybe I could start fresh and have some actual friends besides the people who I think are my friends on discord. Plus if its forested it could prove easier to practice magic without getting noticed, that would be ideal. I should definitely ask where we would be going since that is somewhat important if I'm going to stay there for months.'

"I'd love to go it'd be nice to meet some more people, but where does our uncle Stan live, because I really want to go explore a forest and see all the cool animals there." I spoke out hiding my actual reason but the excitement I portrayed wasn't faked I was actually excited and hopeful it'll be like I want.

"Well your in luck then kiddo, because your Uncle Stan lives in the forest somewhat and it's not that far away from the town there, so you could still meet plenty of people." My dad responded.

'Yes! now I can definitely practice more magic without anyone getting in the way.'

"Then it's a definite yes from me." I responded.

"What did I say bonnie, I told you were worrying for no reason again."

"It was not for no reason, what if they didn't want to go?"

My dad seemed to be struggling to come up with a rebuttal.

"Well it all worked out that's all that matters in end, right?"

"Yeah, what matters is these two are happy."

Which brought a smile to my face aswell as my sister I enjoyed the little play arguement my parents had, they were never actually serious from what I could remember maybe they weren't always like this.

I finally finished my food and I figured I might as well excuse myself.

"Mom and dad I'm going to head to my room I've got this book I really want to finish."

"Go ahead and read your book Dippy, your dad has to go to work soon anyways just make sure to be down for dinner ok?"

"Alright mom I'll see you guys at dinner time, holler if you need me or if you see one of my Marionettes get one of them to get me."

I said while picking up butter bot.

"Ready to go butter bot?"

"Of course Dipper, I'm always ready."

Then I headed up the stairs to my room.

"Dipper do you plan to study the book you got from your successful ritual?" Butter bot inquired quietly.

"Yeah I do, I'm hoping to learn some magic or at the very least learn more about how to eventually be able to use magic." I responded quietly as I closed the door behind me.
