Initial Discoveries

Adam was just amazed at what was in front of him.

A blue portal had suddenly appeared in his basement. This isn't something that happens on a usual day.

"What the hell?"

Adam, after calming down, had walked towards the portal. As he walked closely, it seemed a bit... odd to him. For starters, it was completely blue. No other colors were on it. Usually, there's white along with it. Secondly, it wasn't a cylinder. Usually, these portals would have a cylinder-like appearance. Like the Boomtubes in the DC Universe. Thirdly, it had this surreal energy to it. Like it was drawing him to it.

"Son! Stay back!" Called a voice.

Adam then turned around, seeing his parents behind him. His father then ran to him, pulling him from the portal.

"I don't want you near this thing. For all we know, it could have nazi rats on the other end."

"Nazi rats?" Adam asked.

Adam's mother then hugged her boy and looked at the portal.

"W-What is it?"

"I don't know, honey. Looks to be something from a movie." Answered the father.

The father then went to the backside and saw that it is flat. He then went back to the front and stuck his hand inside the portal.

"Honey!!!" screamed the mother.

"I'm fine. There's some tingling." said the father.

A little girl then came into the basement and saw the portal. And the fact that the father's hand is in it.

"Daddy!" yelled the little girl.

The other three then noticed the little girl as she began to run to her father. However, her mother had stopped her.

"Amelia! What are you doing up?" asked the mother.

"I heard big brother screaming and came down here," said Amelia.

"Hey. I was NOT screaming. I was just... notifying everyone that this is happening," countered Adam.

"Right."

The father then removed his hand from the portal.

"So, Dad. How'd it feel?" asked Adam.

"It felt... tingling. Like I had a thousand people poking at my arm"

"Was it painful?" asked the mother.

"Surprisingly, no. It actually felt a bit... nice."

Adam then got up from the ground and looked at the portal.

"So. What should we do with this thing?"

"I'm guessing we should report this to the CDC. They might know what to do," said the mother.

"Would they even believe us?" asked the father.

"I don't know. They'd probably think we're crazy," said the mother.

Adam then looked at the portal.

"I think we need to explore it. It has to be here for a reason," said Adam.

"Okay. But who'll help us. We can't go into it alone," said the father.

"I... have a plan," said Adam.

Both parents then looked at their son, wondering what it'd be.
