Bringing in the gang

John Noble Goodwin High School.

A pretty good school in the Tuscon Valley. While it is not a A-grade school, it is still a place of worthwhile education in the state of Arizona. It has, at least, 5 buildings for different classes of education. One for science, one for math, one for English, etc.

It is also the place where Adam goes to school. He was heading to his homeroom, which was his US history class. Going in the classroom, he sat down at his desk and got out his history textbook. Two kids, a blonde guy and a black guy, had come to him.

"Hey, Adam. How's it going?" asked the blonde guy.

"Yeah. Everything doing alright?" asked the black guy.

"Yeah. It's fine. Wanna come to my place?"

"Sure. It's the weekend anyways. Mike? You in?" asked the blonde guy.

"I'm in. Hope it's something fun," said Mike.

The teacher then walked in and calmed down the class.

"Alright, class. Settle down. I know you're excited for the weekend. But the lesson must go on. Now then, can anyone tell me the name of the US general who invaded Mexico City?"

The trio are then seen walking to Adam's place. It was a two-story house that was yellow in color. They then stepped in, and Adam's mother had called out to them.

"Hey, Adam. Oh, Mike and... uh?" asked Adam's mother.

"Drake, Mrs. Banner," answered Drake.

"Drake. Right. I... should've known that" said Adam's mother.

"Hey, Mom. Where's Dad?"

"Oh. He's in the basement. Checking on... it," answered Adam's mother.

"Thanks," said Adam.

He then led his friends into the basement and found his father with the portal down there. Drake and Mike were surprised to see it in the basement. He then turned around and noticed his son and his friends.

"Hello, boys. Adam, don't you have homework to do?" asked Adam's father.

"No. Finished it in class. What'd you find?" asked Adam.

The boys then set their bags down and looked at it.

"Not much. Just figured out its measurements," said Adam's father.

"W-Wait a minute! Aren't you going to tell us what's going on?" asked Drake.

"Yeah. Why is there a blue circle thing in your basement?" asked Mike.

Adam and his father just shrugged at them.

"I don't know. I just discovered it last night."

"Is it dangerous?" asked Mike.

"We don't know. We were planning on investigating the other side," said Adam's father.

The boys just took in all that information.

"Dad. You said something about measurements?"

"Yeah. From what i could tell it has a diameter of 200cm and a radius of 100cm," informed Adam's father.

"That's big, right?" asked Drake.

"Yeah. That would be about 2 meters," said Mike.

Adam then looked at his friends.

"My dad and I are planning to go into the portal tomorrow. I don't know when we'll be back, but...," said Adam.

"Hey. Don't expect us to just let you go alone. Right, Mike?" asked Drake.

"Well. I mean, we could encounter some Chinese velociraptors...," said Mike.

Drake just glared at his friend, frightening Mike a little.

"Fine. I'll go. However, we'll need to be prepared."
