37 Birthday party starts

The next day was the start of my birthday party.

I was more or less ambivalent about how to feel. On one side, it would be the occasion to meet the future generation and thus, some future leaders and customers. So a good way to make some contacts. But on the other side, I would have to meet the dregs of the underworld. And by this I do not mean the poor or the ones living in the slum of the capital, Lilith. No, I'm talking about the heirs that thinks of themselves above all overs. The one that would look down on me and insult me just because I did not master the power of destruction.

I knew they would be kids, but still... Getting despised and insulted is never a good feeling. But I decided to go there with the objective of being the better person. I would ignore them and prove myself of great character...

That was the plan.

And as they say, the plan never survive the encounter. Stupid Murphy law and all that.

Anyway, Celina and mother forced me to try clothes until they found something 'nice' enough. It was some kind of 16th century suit or something in some sombre green (it goes well with my eyes and hair apparently). I even had to wear one of those stupid white foulard. What I do to please them sometimes...

Once my dolling was finished, I had to wait alone in some room with Rias since we could not come with the other guests, it would be considered gauche... We were meant to have a grand entrance.

So we had some small talk, in which she explained she would use this party to find her true love or something, not that anyone would give me a chance since I was a looser... I couldn't wait to hear about the news of hers and Riser's engagement. It might be petty, but I was really anticipating her despairing face.

I was honestly wondering how Riser was in real life. He is actually rarely show in the story, and we only have the picture depicted by Rias and Sirzechs. Not some truly objective people here.

It also made me realise that Rias had power over time. What should have been like half an hour felt like two eternity. She was that good at boring someone to death.

Then Celina came and finally told me it was time.

We descended the stairs from the first floor so that everyone could look at us. I decided to let Rias take the lead, this way people would bother me less.

What surprised me were some faces I recognized in the guests. Especially Rossweisse and her Grandmother Göndul. I could also see Ajuka surrounded by a bunch of fans (or bootlickers) accompanying Serafall. Weird. That's what I though at the time since I saw no reason for him to be here.

Several adults were also present, but were mingling amongst themself in the background.

Rias : "Hello and welcome to the Gremory manor, I wish to thank you all for coming to my birthday party tonight to celebrate my 10th anniversary. I hope you'll all have a nice evening." She said while doing a nice bow. The fact she completely ignore that it was also mine was not ignored if looking at the people face was an indication. Not that I cared that much.

Alexander : "Good evening guests from the underworld and Asgard. Unlike my sister I had yet to formally introduce myself to the finest of our society for various reasons, so using this occasion let me do just that. My name is Alexander Gremory, second son of lord Gremory. I will also directly confirm that I am NOT the heir, since I neither possess the Bael power of destruction nor the Gremory power of luck. As some of you have already heard, I was also personally granted citizenship of Asgard by king Odin All-Father, and must thus also be considered an Asgardian. Please take it into account during our future interactions. All this being said, I want to especially thank Lady Leviathan and Lord Beelzebub for granting us their presence to this event, and I wish you all a good evening."

At least with that, the leeches would leave me alone, and the cocky young masters would think twice before being little bitches. Well, the one that could understand subtlety at least. As for the the idiots... Nether mind them.

I did see some adults looking at me weirdly. What did they expect ? That I was gonna fake being the heir or something ?

Once my greeting was done I went directly to greet the two Satans. Even if I didn't really care about the high society in general, it didn't mean I was dumb enough to ignore my manners in front of the overpowered devils. My sister was not that smart since she went straight to her friend Sona, much to the chagrin of mother and father.

Alexander : "Lady Leviathan, Lord Beelzebub. You honour my sister and I by your presence. I have to say that while I expected lady Leviathan since she told me this much during one of our exchange, I am surprised by you being here my lord. Was there a problem with the manual I gave you last time perhaps ?"

Serafall : "ALEX-KUN ! Aren't you super cute with those clothes ! Trying to impress me are you ?"

Alexander : "Isn't this a given my lady ? Is there even a devil that doesn't try to be at his best when he knows you will be present ? You know very well your beauty is only overshadowed by you personality, making you clearly the most sought maiden in the underworld." My praise did earn me a big smile and a kiss on the cheek to the surprise of many of the ass kissers.

Ajuka : "EH ! Still the charmer I see kiddo. And to answer your question I'm here to discuss with your father about giving you your devil pieces. Since I needed to come anyway, I decided to come today to up the level of this party. It's your first appearance after all and you made quite the impression last time we met. As for your manual I have no complain. It was actually very well written."

Alexander : "Thanks again then. I wish you again a good evening. Now if you excuse me, I have a bunch of parasites and waste of air to greet."
