Twenty Years Later!

Years passed and Shi Xing was now a full-fledged adult. Her long black her, combined with her stunning hazel eyes made her look extremely attractive. People couldn't help but give her a double glance when walking by.

Not only was she extremely attractive, she was also very smart. As a person from a middle-class family, her motivation to succeed in life was very strong. She pursued the career of business in order to make enough money to support her family. She was at the moment in the beginning stages of her business life. She still needed to find the central idea of her business and even had to find a way to create the products she wanted.

Since this was the case, she would work part-time at a local grocery store in order to survive. Good clothing, high-class cars, and even expensive food were not a luxury she could afford. At most, she would eat from low-class restaurants or her mother's home cooking. However, even the home cooking was from the lowest of ingredients.

Her life was extremely stressful, plus her looks also brought her many worries. As a person who wanted independence and to pursue her career, she did not want to marry early, however offers would come from many places. Each person who did want to marry her would only do it out of lust for her beauty, which she found extremely nauseating and annoying.

Her life was at the lowest point, even her father who should have retired was continuing his work in order to provide for the family.

"Xinger, come down for breakfast dear." The sun began to rise slowly as the yellow rays began to shower the world with their glory.

Inside a house, there was a room with white walls and a large bed. It was a plain room with no dressing table or anything like that.

On the large bed, a girl with her hair spread across the sheets slowly opened her eyes. The sound of the girls' mother made her turn her body over as her eyelashes began to flutter. Slowly, hazel eyes appeared eyes she blinked her pretty eyes.

Tiredness and annoyance could be seen on her face as her rosy pink lips pouted. "Wake me in five minutes!" Shi Xing yelled back. She was feeling extremely exhausted as her days would not go by with ease.

"That little… WAKE UP!" Jiang Wen's lip flinched. She looked towards the stairs and yelled once more, but this time with some anger.

Hearing the mad yell, Shi Xing quickly got up and looked around her plain room. There was nothing in it except a bed and a door towards the washroom. She had some clothes, but only a few that she would need to reuse multiple times a week.

Shi Xing took off the flowery blanket from her legs as her seductive body was exposed. Such a scene would arouse the rampage of many men, however, no man would be able to see such a sight anytime soon.

She moved off the bed as he jade-like feet slipped into blue, bunny slippers. Her back was somewhat hunched as she rubbed her eyes and walked towards the washroom. "Yawn! Another stupid day. Can't I just sleep in for today?" She couldn't help but talk to herself pitifully.

The door to the washroom opened with a small creaking sound as an oval mirror, a small bathtub, a sink, and toilet appeared in sight. She walked slowly towards the sink and opened up the tap. Water gushed out extremely quickly. Her fair hands penetrated the water as she began to wash her face.

Twenty minutes later, she was all ready to go out to work. "Xinger! Come down for breakfast!" Jiang Wen yelled once more. Shi Xing ran down the stairs in haste.

"I am coming, mom." As she finally stepped into the small kitchen, she saw two bowls. One was filled with rice while the other had some soup. Picking up her chopsticks, Shi Xing began to eat.

"Xinger, we got another proposal for you. This time the boy is fro---" Before Jiang Wen could finish speaking, Shi Xing quickly stopped her.

"Mom, you know that I am not interested in marriage right now. If I get married right now, then I would be forced to become a housewife, let alone be able to work on my business." She spoke a little quickly while continuing to stuff her mouth.

"But dear, you are getting older, don't you think you should try and find a good man now? If not marriage, you should at least find a person to spend time with." Jiang Wen looked at her gorgeous daughter and said with some helplessness.

"Old? Mom, I am only twenty. I am still so young. Don't worry, if I do find someone, then you and dad will be the first to know." Shi Xing smiled towards her mother before landing a small kiss on the latter's cheek with her succulent lips.

Jiang Wen shook her head bitterly as she brought out a small necklace. It seemed to be made from a bit of gold. Although it wasn't something that would be considered extremely expensive, for someone in their family's situation, the necklace was priceless.

Shi Xing looked at the necklace with some confusion, as Jiang Wen slowly pulled her hand out. "Xinger, take this necklace. Your father and I can't afford too much jewelry, however, I am able to give you this at least."

Shi Xing looked at her mother with even more confusion. "Isn't this necklace your…" Jiang Wen had already started to wrap the necklace around Shi Xing's fair neck that lacked any sort of items.

"It is alright. It was sitting around collecting dust, so just keep it. You never know, it might come in handy for." Jiang Wen smiled at her daughter before handing her a briefcase. "Your things are ready. Here you go."

Shi Xing grabbed the briefcase and walked towards the front door. "Thanks, mom, I will see for dinner then. If I am late, just eat with me." She smiled towards her aging mother before finally stepping outside.

"My poor little girl. If she was from a wealthier family, then she could have lived a great life." Jiang Wen sadly shook her head as she walked back into the kitchen.

Shi Xing walked on the sidewalk towards the barber shop that her business was located. She couldn't help but grab the necklace around her neck and look at it for a few moments. It was a pretty blue necklace that had a bit of gold. It was quite simple, however to Shi Xing, it was extremely beautiful.

She then began to think back to the words of her mother. 'Xinger, we got another proposal for you.' Shi Xing shook her head. "Those people only want me to work at home all day. There is no way I am going to join such a family. I will find someone eventually." Shi Xing sighed as she walked forwards while continuing to fiddle with the necklace on her neck.

As she progressed towards the barber shop, she began to hear screams behind her. "Wait! You bastard! Don't think I won't break your balls!" An angry man's voice began to appear. Because of the vulgarity he spoke, Shi Xing couldn't help but turn around.

Just when she was about to completely turn her head, a man came knocking into her. "Ah!" She couldn't help but grunt as her head hit the others.

"Bastard, you finally stopped." The same man's voice was heard. Things were becoming blurry for Shi Xing, so she couldn't clearly see the man who was speaking. "Huh? What's this? This bastard crashed into this girl? What a lowlife!" The man's voice began to slowly approach Shi Xing who was beginning to lose consciousness. The hit to her head was extremely hard which made her feel somewhat sleepy.

Slowly, Shi Xing's vision faded, and she completely lost consciousness. "Sh*t! What the heck do I do with this girl? This goddamn thief!" The man's face was still a bit mysterious, however, she sounding of kicking could be heard. It seemed as though the man was kicking the thief who also lied unconscious on the ground.

"Seems like I am going to need to take this woman to a clinic. Sh*t! It's all this bastard's fault!" Another sound that resembled kicking resounded on the sidewalk.
