CHAPTER 11

Alex was surprised at the changes that had occurred, because everything that had happened on this island told in the anime and manga, had not happened. Well, actually there were some events, like Zoro and Tashigi meeting in the sword store, Sanji and Luffy's cooking contest, and Luffy getting on the execution platform in the plaza.

However, none of these events triggered Smoker to chase after them. Alex was confused by this, as he couldn't find a reason why things changed so much and the only conclusion he could come to was that Buggy's capture was bigger than he thought.

Watching the straw hats jocularly set sail without a care in the world from Loguetown left Alex with a sense of uncertainty because while it was small events that had changed, they had big consequences.

Zoro and Tashigi, though they had seen each other, had not fought and their relationship was not as complex as in the original work. Buggy was captured before he found Luffy and almost executed him avoiding the commotion in the square and drawing Smoker's attention.

And in this same waterfall-like manner, many events change. Luffy never confronts Smoker, Dragon never saves him, Smoker will not follow Luffy into the Grand Line, and Buggy will be imprisoned in Impel Down much earlier than the original artwork stated.

Because of all this, Alex was worried, as he felt that this world was destined for a big change and that the information he had about the events that would occur would be irrelevant at a certain point.

Although worried, Alex could do nothing, he was just another actor in the reward god's plan. The straw hats had already set sail and were getting farther and farther away from Loguetown.

The ship's crew was relaxed and excited, as they were finally about to enter the Grand Line. While everyone was having a good time, Usopp saw a figure approaching rapidly through the water. 

It was a young man running on the water as if the water was solid and that surprised him, but after looking more closely, he noticed that the young man was not walking on the water, but was walking on air. A few inches from the water the young man was kicking the air as if it were the ground and running in the direction of the Going Merry.

Usopp immediately shouted alerting everyone. Nami with concern saw the young man approaching and together with Usopp panicked. On the other hand, Zoro and Sanji were already prepared to face the young man, however, Luffy was being Luffy.

AWESOME, he's walking on water. (Luffy)

You idiot! Stop admiring him, he's an enemy. (Sanji)

Why? It could be someone who needs directions. (Luffy)

Sure as if that's possible idiot!!!! (Sanji)

While they were arguing, Zoro drawing his swords advanced towards the young man who had already boarded the ship with determination. But the young man was quick and agile, he managed to dodge the first attacks with ease. 

This won't come for free! (Zoro)

Zoro's shout was what informed Sanji and Luffy that the young man had already boarded and was fighting with him. The young man was Alex who was looking at the straw hat crew with a smile.

Although he appeared calm on the outside, it was only a facade, as he was incredibly excited. As a One Piece fan, he couldn't help it, as he was seeing his favorite characters in the flesh.

Sanji seeing that Zoro had Alex's attention tried to attack him from behind. But Alex was more cunning. He turned around and threw a handkerchief he took out of his pocket directly at Sanji's face, momentarily blinding him. 

Meanwhile, Luffy seeing that Zoro and Sanji didn't stand a chance against Alex joined the fight. The three of them were still fighting hand-to-hand with him, but it seemed impossible to defeat the young intruder. 

Suddenly, Usopp had a brilliant idea. He grabbed a rope and tried to immobilize Alex by pulling hard on it.... but failed miserably and ended up falling into the water which worried everyone. Alex laughed triumphantly as he took a seat on a nearby barrel.

Thanks for the ride guys. (Alex)

Alex's ironic words annoyed the monstrous trio of straw hats, but they didn't attack, as they knew they couldn't beat him. They were not clear about the reason, but somehow their instinct told them that.

Nami who had helped Usopp onto the boat, now looked over to where Alex and the others were having a staring contest and together with Usopp was scared to the extreme because she had seen the whole battle and knew that Luffy and the others were no match for the intruder. Having no way to defeat him, Sanji adopted a different tactic.

Who are you? Why did you come on our ship? (Sanji)

Well, my name is Alex and I needed a ride. (Alex)

Oh, so you need a ride, you should have said so earlier. No problem. (Luffy)

Shut up Luffy!!! How is that true? (Nami)

Hahaha, you're just as they say, Luffy. Miss Nami you don't have to worry, I really have no bad intentions, I just need to get to the Grand Line. (Alex)

None of the straw hats unlike Luffy believed him, however, since they could not defeat him, they could do nothing. However, a few minutes later Sanji's eyes widened as he remembered something.

Alex? Are you that Alex who explained the world chat? (Sanji)

Alex didn't really expect Sanji to recognize him, but it was normal since he had recently appeared on the flaming list as the winner of a red cube, so the surprise was short.

He had no problem with being recognized, he just didn't think it could happen. With a wry smile on his face, Alex nodded, letting them understand that Sanji had guessed correctly and that surprised them again.

Did you gain the ability to walk on the water of the red cube? (Luffy)

Walk on water? (Alex)

Alex didn't understand Luffy's question, but after some thought, he understood the future pirate king's confusing question. What Alex used to get on the boat was the Geppo used by CP9 to walk on air.

He had gotten all 6 basic Rokushiki skills in his 10 years with the system, but only used the Geppo and Soru, as he found the others unnecessary attacks now that he mastered the Haki.

Luffy's confusion lay in the fact that Alex used the Geppo near the water, so it gave the impression that he was walking on it, but that was not true and he quickly made several jumps in the air, showing them that he was not walking on the water, but on the air.

Luffy opened his eyes wide and his mouth opened so wide that a whole watermelon would fit him. The other crew members were also surprised and seeing their expressions, Alex smiled satisfying his ego, and said. "Do you want to learn?".

(Dear readers, I normally publish two chapters every weekend, but tomorrow I have a state exam, so depending on the circumstances, I may not be able to upload a chapter tomorrow. Although it is not certain, I apologize in advance if I don't manage to upload the usual chapter.)
