5 The Magic of Gods

"Damn I'm exhausted, I lost the chasing guards around the slum area, but still why the hell would they chase me in the first place?"

'In this world the Kings of Demon are referred to as Djinn.'

"Great and it's spelt just like my name, well no use worrying about that now. Well it's a fantasy world of swords and magic and it seams my stats are better in the magic department so if they want a fight then its a fight I'll give 'em. Hey common sense was it, what exactly is magic in this world and how do I use it?"

'Magic is a phenomenon caused by changing the the properties of mana to achieve the desired effects. Magic is made up of two main steps first is to gather the amount of mana you need from within your body and use it shape it into a sort of blueprint to guide the rest of your spell. This can be done in several ways the first and most common is to use a magic item with the spell blueprint already written within it to assist you. The second is to use words or gestures to form the mana into the spell blueprint. The third and least common is to form the blueprint directly with your will this is the hardest, but also the quickest. The next main step guide the mana withing the world through your blueprint to activate the spell.'

"What exactly is mana?"

'Mana could be said to be the dna of the system itself and exists everywhere that the system does.'

"So mana is all around this world and also in every living thing is that right."

'Yes and no mana is in the air and also in everything that is and has ever been living. However dead things no longer generate new mana.'

"So instead of using my mana to modify the mana in the air cant I just modify the mana in my body directly."

'... ... ... The mana inside you is considered null, changing it in any way shape or from right now would kill you. Changing it to a light or healing attribute however would cause a rapid full healing.'

"Damn glad I asked, wait so couldn't I just change the mana inside a living thing to kill it instead of using magic the normal way?"

'... ...Yes.'

"Let's try it, hey what type of mana blueprinting would you recommend?"

'Using just your will would be best for the future as your wisdom stat is high enough to support it, but for now try combining your will and a simple vocal blueprint.'

Walking up to one of the many trees in the forest I put my hand on it circulated some mana onto the surface of my hand. It takes only three tries to get my mana to go where I want, guess thats one of the pluses of having high wisdom. Concentrating on the mana I imagine the tree wilting and dying nice and straight forward.

"Mana Touch, Dark."

(System)"New magic system realized, Living Magic. New skill realized Living Magic. New title realized, First Living Mage."

"Whoa, I've got magic now hahaha!"

In an instant the tree did end up wilting and dying. Still touching the same tree I try something else.

"Well how about this one then. Mana Touch, Light."

(System)"New sub magic system realized, Revival Magic. New skill realized Revival Magic. New title realized, First Revival Mage."

The wilted tree suddenly sprung up full of life.

"Holy shit isn't this actually really OP?"

'Yes, normally changing the magic of other living beings with higher wisdom is impossible and still extremely hard if your wisdom does surpass the targets, however your title of God of Living has influenced these events as even mana itself is considered a living thing.'

"Wow, wait lets see how much MP that used. Status."

"Each only cost 20 MP what the hell isn't that a cheat?"

'No as all you were doing is changing the existing mana type, no size, power, shape, speed, or other modifiers were required so shaping the blueprint only took 10. Also the amount of so the mana didn't have to cross any distance to effect the target so the mana cost is to guide the creatures mana was a minimal 10.'

"Makes sense I guess, so what do these new titles do?"

'First Living Mage gives a bonus to Living Magic and allows you to pass Living Mage on as a class, you can also chose to set this as your class at a church however because you yourself are a god this can only be done at church that worships you. Same goes for First Revival Mage.'

"Awesome so I get a class and I can't even use it yet. Fine I'll just do some more experiments, next up a projectile version of my new deadly magic."

I make my hand into a finger gun, aim it at a tree about 5 meters away, and circulate some mana to the tip of it. It only takes a single try to get it right this time which is nice. I start to imagine a small ball of mana flying from my finger striking the tree and killing it much like the first one.

"Mana Shot, Dark."

A bullet sized ball of mana shots out from my finger at a pretty fast speed. Once it hits the tree I was aiming at the tree wilts just like the first.

"Hey what's my MP at?"

'200/300'

"So mana shot uses 60 MP pretty bad I could use the same amount of mana killing three trees up close and I fell like the further the target the more mana that shots gonna cost. What to do next oh I know, Mana Touch, Fire."

The tree I was touching turns into an inferno as if the tree itself was made of fire. It's really cool looking.

"Mana Touch, Water. Mana Touch, Earth. Mana Touch, Air."

The one I shot with water actually liquefies, anyone want some liquid tree. The one I shot with earth turns solid. The air touch one actually dissipates into the air.

"So cool now it's time to make an ultimate move as everyone must have one."

I put out both my palms and start guiding mana to build the blueprint. An uncontrolled, unshaped, pulse of mana that kills everything in its path. It seams I can put as much mana as I want through this spell, maybe because it's not a single target, or maybe it's because I wanted it to be an ultimate move. I can roughly tell how many trees it can kill so I'll just give it enough mana to kill about five.

"Mana Pulse, Dark."

A wave about five feet wide goes through the forest until all the mana I packed it with is used up killing five trees in the process.

"I'm kinda tired now, hey whats my MP at now?"

'20/300'

"Hmm so my ultimate move used 100 for five trees. That's amazing its just as efficient as my mana touch. Hey your considered 'common sense' right, and you've been teaching me all this stuff I didn't know so how about a nickname, Common Sensei do you like it?"

'I like it, will now respond to Common Sensei, or just Sensei is fine.'

"Haha okay Sensei, so hey I'm exhausted any ideas?"

'Go to your divine room.'
