Get Back to You

NOTE: Get Back To you is an LGBT novel series. Synopsis: She is back? Giselle is back! And she didn’t want me to know! Lillian Grey’s life went pretty wild without Giselle. She dated people to her wish and broke up with them to her comfort until a young model called Lucy came close to capturing her heart. Anna waited as Lillian stumped upon hearing the familiar name she had desperately searched for several years. And it came with a stab. “If you want, I can deliver a message,” Anna proposed after hearing Lillian become speechless in their phone call. Knowing well how she had come out to spend time with Lucy, Lillian refused to respond when confessed to such shocking news. Nevertheless, later to her own dismay, she delivered her message to her good friend, Anna, hoping that it would reach Giselle somehow. ******************** “Giselle, I’m glad to hear that you’re back. I hope you’re in good health. Well, I heard about your party and that you have invited Anna and not me, which is surprising news to learn. It’s alright. Things are different now for you, I guess. But here’s my message in case you even care: Don’t ever show yourself in front of me. Ever again. Why? Because I know I cannot stop myself from choosing you if I ever see your face again. What you gave me is irreplaceable. I still have it in my heart. It didn’t let me live my life in peace. However, I’ve decided to take a chance without your memories this one time. So, let me be. And congratulations on your marriage and your kid. I pray for your happiness. You know, I do. Take care. Love you, evermore.” - Lillian Grey ******************* Follow the incredible story of Lillian Grey and Giselle: Two souls bonded by love yet, pulled apart by the external forces. The two women meet years later to find out the subtle fire still tingling inside, allowing them to reconcile. But the question is: Will they accept it or not? A Message from the Author: Hey guys, 'Get Back To You' is very special because it is my first novel and a bold choice, I would say. Seize the chance to make it right!

Edwin left Giselle in charge to toss the spaghetti with the flavorful homemade marinara sauce. All that talk with Giselle made him emotional, and he had to leave the scene to catch a breath of fresh air. Out he came and saw little Lia watching cartoons and displaying her sparkling smile as she enjoyed it heartily.

Edwin was still behind and not at Lia's visibility, and so it allowed him to adore the girl in silence. The more he watched Lia, the more, Edwin could see the resemblance to the girl from her mother.

Watching her from remote made Edwin rewind the time where Lia cried to her mother of Lillian, not liking her.

Back in the kitchen, Edwin purposefully invited Giselle to chat with her, but he knowingly avoided topics related to Lia. Somehow he couldn't find the strength to question or confront Giselle of Lia. Things happen in life, and one must be calm not to lose themselves in the process. His conversation with Giselle let him understand her slightly and that there must be something behind her past actions. Edwin hoped that his silly daughter would not be so stupid to ignore it.

The thought of his silly daughter made him quit his watch of Lia. Edwin moved to the stairs and ascended it to Lia's ignorance.

Lillian locked herself inside the room. Edwin knocked twice, and it opened to a serious-looking Lillian Grey.

"You look like you are about to murder anyone who walks into the door!" Edwin commented as he entered cautiously.

"I'm controlling myself harder than ever," Lillian said.

"Good work, champ," Edwin's casual comment did not please its patron.

"So, how is the reading coming along? Did you finish the book already?" Edwin asked after studying the room.

"I couldn't even finish three pages without losing my conscious for every two minutes. It sucks so bad," Lillian expressed honestly.

"I expected it already," Edwin returned.

"Why are you here? What happened with cooking with Giselle?" Lillian mimicked her voice to sound like her father, but it ended up with a comical twist that made Edwin chuckle.

"We finished it just now. I have to commend on Giselle's patience in the kitchen, unlike someone else, who only expects food to be on the table when its time," he remarked.

Lillian threw one of her nasty hatred glares at Edwin.

"Well, she is a mother to a child. It goes without saying that she had some solid cooking skills, unlike someone."

"You keep repeating, unlike someone! Yes, I am not very fond of cooking because I've been living alone. Don't expect me to learn some skill like I have someone to impress!"

Lillian sounded rude yet lonely while showing her attitude to Edwin.

For several seconds following her comment, Edwin remained quiet. It is because he wanted to collect himself before conversing with this arrogant personality.

"What are you planning to do now?" he asked.

It made Lillian question herself. Not that she didn't spend the last hour losing her mind over Giselle's unexpected visit and thinking how to handle things from here. But, Edwin's way of phrasing things helped Lillian organize her thoughts as well.

One thing that is sure out of this outcome is Lillian not being able to run away anymore. She thought her great friend Shane Ricardo played well in locking up Lillian even at her hibernation.

"If at all, Shane did give you this wonderful opportunity. I would say, make the best use of it to do what is right and not be a cowardly human," Edwin suggested.

"Pardon me, Mr. Grey, what did you say? A cowardly human? Me?" Lillian exaggerated.

"Think about it," Edwin said.

"For years, you waited for that girl. You never got to confess your love too. Lilly, you can't let things be like this forever and keep running away. Maybe Giselle has a reason to leave at that time. Find it out from herself. Talk to her, and don't be a baby."

"Dad, you are not making me feel any better," Lillian said as she fell to sit on the bed, crossing her hands while squinting her brows to show her displeasure.

Edwin went and sat next to her.

"Lilly?" he called softly.

"Do you remember those days when you kept visiting Giselle's parents to get any clue on her?"

Lillian released her tensed gaze. She recalled the time, and yes, it was a dark period of her life when reality slapped her in the face. She just learned that Giselle left and nothing else. To be not able to even confess her love, in the end, Lillian got heartbroken.

Even reminiscing those days gave her heartaches.

"Do you know what happened that night?"

Lillian thought about it and then replied.

"You told me that Anna and Diego found me on the streets, unconsciously down."

"Did you know how much I worried that night for you?" Edwin asked sincerely, and Lillian nodded, looking down while regretting to put her father in such a position.

"That next dawn when you woke up, I told you to move on like Giselle," Edwin said and continued.

"I told you that one day, in the future, you will have the opportunity to meet her again, and then you can talk to Giselle."

Lillian lifted her face to his words.

"And that time had come now, Lilly. Be it fate or a great coincidence, you finally have a chance to meet Giselle, and yes, there are somethings scary to learn like Giselle's daughter, Lia. Nonetheless, this is your prospect to make things right. Settle everything and put it right back on the track."

Edwin encouraged Lillian with his parental tendencies.

"I understand that years passed with you two apart, but ask yourself if you still have those feelings for her or did you already move on. After having yourself an answer to that, go to Giselle and clarify your doubts and to confess your feelings. You have to get it out, champ. You can't let this thing be a barrier to your future. Look at you, you are now an adult, and you haven't been in love like you did with this girl. Your dating history is a failure. Why? You were not able to love someone, and the person responsible for that is Giselle."

Now, Edwin stood to leave.

"I can sit here and keep preaching to you all days and nights, but it is up to you. You are a clever one and a very bold one too. You don't need me saying these. Do what you wished for all these years of detachment!"

Before shutting the door, he reminded Lillian to join them in a few minutes for lunch.

And just like that, the door shutting sound echoed inside the room with Lillian, sitting on the bed, and questioning herself, what did she wish for all the years of being away of Giselle?

I seriously want Edwin Grey to be my father!

*sighs heavily*
