22 The sleepy Ganyu

Inside Yuehai Pavillion, the ever-so workaholic secretary of the Liyue Qixing, Ganyu, is working on some papers. It was about to turn afternoon, just in time for her daily afternoon naps when suddenly, a knock was heard outside her door.

Ganyu was about to sleep on her desk but is stopped. She then looked at the door and spoke, "Who Is it?"

"Can I come in?" A melodious and charming voice was heard behind the door. One of which is easily imagined as owned by a matured woman.

The door soon opened and a familiar figure entered Ganyu's office.

The person that entered was a tall woman with fair skin, red eyes, and an overall elegant appearance. She has long straight hair, where half of it is tied up into a wide bun resembling a bow, and the rest falls into two divided parts.

Her hair is white, reaches her knees, and fades into an ashy color. Her bun is accessorized with a black hairpin, and she wears a red tassel decoration atop her head which lays between her eyes.

She also wears a white, high-necked sleeveless qipao dress with side slits that reach up to the thigh. The side slit in her dress reveals black shorts with diamond-cut patterns. And finally, her Geo vision is placed on her left midriff.

She was the current Tianquan Qixing of Liyue, responsible for maintaining the book of ancient laws laid out by Morax and all subsequent amendments.

Oh, and she's also a calculating and ruthless businesswoman guided by the sole aim of making Mora.

"...Lady Ningguang, what are you doing here?" Ganyu said, despite being disturbed from her afternoon nap, she still kept her calm composure.

Ningguang smiled and walked over to Ganyu as she placed down a paper on the latter's desk. "You heard of the latest ruckus the young people have been doing in Liyue, have you not?"

Ganyu simply shook her head as she was in her office for the past 2 days, occasionally going outside for food and going inside again. "No..."

Ningguang smirked and pointed at the paper she placed. "Is that so? But I've heard that you've recently got in touch with the main perpetrator..."

Ganyu looked at the paper and saw that it had the documents relating to the person she met at Chihu Rock.

It only contained his pictures from the front and side views. Along with it was a series of writings containing about the person's recent activities.

Of course, the person on the paper did not know that his information was collected as Ningguang used her personal information sources for this.

When Ganyu saw it, she immediately snapped out of her sluggish behavior and picked up the paper. 'It's him...!'

She still remembers that day when Igarashi deeply stared at her horns. She was really uncomfortable at that time as she really doesn't want any people to suspect her as an Adeptus and continue living as the human side of her bloodline.

At that time, she really wanted to tell him that they were merely head accessories but before she did so, Igarashi took his eyes off her and looked away.

Ever since coming to Liyue Harbor 2,000 years ago, Ganyu has been doing all her best to fulfill her contract to the God that whom she has full devotion to. As such, ever since becoming a secretary of the Liyue Qixing, she would do everything she can to stay in that position. This also explains why she does not want anyone to suspect her as an Adeptus. 'But he... He was different... It was as if... He understands...'

Ganyu then shook her head and thought again. 'No, no... He doesn't even know I'm an Adeptus. Him looking away could mean anything...' She tried to convince herself that a mortal that has barely even reached half her age would know that she was an Adeptus. 'But still...'

"Hey, you okay?" Ningguang snapped her fingers to wake Ganyu out of her thinking.

Ganyu looked at the standing Ningguang again and slightly nodded her head. "I indeed have met this person before."

After hearing this, Ningguang once again smiled and replied, "Well then, I have a task for you, Ganyu."

"What is it?" Ganyu immediately replied.

Normally, matters such as a small ruckus would not even make the Liyue Qixing bat an eye. They would simply pass this to the Milleliths.

However, this one was different. Ningguang picked up the papers and started saying the words written on them. "It's said here that the main perpetrator for all of this is a man named Chen Yunru. Known relatives: Zhuge Liang. Origins are unknown but suspected to be Inazuman. His origins aren't even that suspicious if you continue reading..."

Ningguang then threw the paper away and said, "His documents were just made the moment he got here along with his brother."

Ganyu was taken aback for a second and asked, "You mean his official documents are forged?"

Ningguang shrugged. "We checked them. All of them were officially made and even have the stamp of approval that only WE have that was given by Rex Lapis. And you should know, anyone that dares to steal Rex Lapis' belonging will be captured before they even get it out of Liyue Harbor."

Ningguang and Ganyu stayed silent before the former spoke. "Either way, seeing that he's doing nothing suspicious, yet, I want you to be a regular there to spy on him, is that possible?"

Ganyu thought for a second, rethinking all of her schedules. "Is this part of work?"

"Officially, yes." Ningguang gave a simple answer.

'If I go back there... Maybe I can convince him that my horns are fake.' Ganyu was really determined to make the man that she met 2 days ago that she isn't an Adeptus. 'And maybe I could get an answer to why he seemed to understand what I was thinking at that time...'

"I'll go." Ganyu replied, making her decision.

Ningguang smiled as she nodded and was about to leave Ganyu's office. But before leaving, she turned around and said, "Oh, and can you buy me one of those mangas he makes? To be frank, I'm interested as to why people would fuss over a book."

Ganyu was taken aback again before calming herself and nodding. "Understood."

And after that, Ningguang left the room, leaving Ganyu alone in her office. The latter dropped down on her desk as she muttered: "Finally... Sleep..."

She dozed off.

Meanwhile, in the middle of Guili Plains, two figures wearing white cloaks can be seen walking under the sun as a white hood covers their head, hiding their facial features in the shade.

One was a tall person while the other was a few centimeters shorter.

And above them, a scorching sun. It was currently the afternoon and the sun is scoring hot. But despite that, the two seemed unbothered.

Then, the tall person lifted his head and saw a ruin nearby. Seeing this, he sighed heavily, and that sigh was for relief.

The person then pulled down his hood which revealed his face. "Hey Sasori, let's take a break there."

"Umu." Sasori nodded.

It was Igarashi and Sasori, on their way to Mingyun village. They intend to go to Wangshu Inn first to take a break and continue on.

They couldn't find any transportation anywhere so they just decided to walk. Igarashi occasionally activates his [A Mangaka's Will] skill to increase his stamina to not get tired, which increases its proficiency. As for Sasori, well, he's a puppet and he never gets tired.

As for the teleport waypoints Igarashi uses when he was playing the game, well, they don't work. He tried to touch them again and again but no. Just no.

Sasori and Igarashi arrived at the Guili Assembly Ruins where they rested under a shade.

Just then, a voice came from behind them. "Oh, are you two traveling to Wangshu Inn as well? Or for the ruins?"

Igarashi and Sasori turned around and looked at the person that spoke. They looked and saw a woman with blue eyes and has glasses.

"Hello, I'm Wanyan. An archeologist." She introduced herself.
