21 Determined Will

"I need a new Noctilucous jade." Sasori said.

"Eh?" Igarashi blankly replied. It was still early in the morning and he just woke up, with dark eye bags under his eyes. He was just about to prepare to heat up water and drink coffee.

Sasori then pointed at himself with the same expressionless face and said again with long lengths. "I. Need. A. New. Battery."

It took Igarashi a few moments before finally remembering. His eyes widened as he forgot about one of the most crucial things Sasori has! 'Crap, he needs a new battery!'

Igarashi stopped at his place and thought of something. 'That's right! The new weapon section in the system shop! I completely forgot about it...'

Igarashi opened his system and opened the system store to see the weapon section that he has still not ventured to.

Before Igarashi got to the weapon section, he thought of a funny idea and asked the system. If it replies, of course. 'Hey system, what's the deadliest weapon in the weapon section?'

Although Igarashi was not expecting a response to his half-joking question, he was answered with a response that almost made him faint.

[Death Note]:[1000 System Credits]

Igarashi could almost jot believe his eyes when he saw the system's reply. 'What the... It's actually the death note?!'

Although it was not a serious question, it still riled up Igarashi. 'Alright, alright, remove that and show me the weapons that are fit for me.'

Soon, the system panel started to change. Cubes containing items within started floating in the system panel. Igarashi even managed to get a glimpse of an oval-shaped item that has the name starting with 'Nuclea—' before disappearing, though, to be frank, Igarashi did not want to continue to know what it was.

Soon, 5 boxes were presented in front of Igarashi. He was quite familiar with them as they were the main weapon types in genshin impact. A sword, a bow, a polearm, a claymore, and finally, a catalyst.

[Selecting...]

[Complete.]

Out of the 5 boxes, three of them disappeared while two stayed. What was in front of Igarashi now was a polearm and a sword.

[White Tassel]:[Description: Increases Normal Attack DMG by 24~48%]

[Harbinger of Dawn]:[Description: When HP is above 90%, increases CRIT Rate by 14~28%]

Igarashi looked at the two choices and found that they were all focused on his physical prowess. Which was understandable because he does not possess a vision. Well, he does possess one but is not activated, and it does not seem to be activating anytime soon.

He looked at the two choices before choosing his weapon. He'll pick the Harbinger of Dawn.

You can't blame him on this one, after all, he doesn't know how to use a polearm in the first place. He doesn't even know why the system picked it for him. So he just picked the one that is easier to use. Just slash slash, swing swing.

He bought it using his system credits which were only for 40 Credits, still leaving him with a good amount. After purchasing the sword, it manifested itself with shreds of light on Igarashi's hand until it finally formed a sword.

"Whoa..." Igarashi was amazed by what just happened.

Sasori, sitting at the table, looked at Igarashi and slightly raised his arm. "Can I... Have a weapon too..?"

"A weapon?" Igarashi replied back. He then continued, "Then, do you have anything in mind?"

"A polearm." Sasori immediately said.

"A polearm?" Igarashi was confused by Sasori's immediate response.

"Yes." Sasori flatly replied.

"Why?" Curiously asked Igarashi

Sasori stayed silent for a while before admitting something. "...I have been learning from someone the past few days."

"Who?"

"It was a kind old lady that is always at Yujing Terrace." Sasori started explaining. "Me and my friends that I made met her and she said that I have compatibility with a polearm because of how flexible my body is. Or something like that."

Igarashi was silent the whole time as Sasori spoke. It was the first time that the latter spoke a long sentence, after all. He just nodded and listened.

Though, he did get reminded of something when Sasori mentioned an old lady at Yujing Terrace. 'It's Madame Ping, isn't it?'

Igarashi knows her well. After all, she is what players in the community refer to as "The nicest Adeptus". Not only giving the players a place to stay like the Serenitea Pot, but she also helped the players during the fight with Osial by giving the player buffs.

One thing that most people don't know, however, was that she is also Xiangling's master that taught her how to use a polearm and her burst skill 'Pyronado'.

Igarashi just calmly nodded and did not intend to tell Sasori anything. "I see. Then, how good are you?"

"I've been practicing with a long bamboo stick and the kind old lady said that I am learning fast." Sasori replied. Though, Igarashi noticed a bit of proudness hidden in those words.

Igarashi thought for a moment before finally deciding. "Alright, I'll get you one."

Sasori, for the first since Igarashi saw him, smiled. Which greatly shocked the latter. He then patted Sasori's head and started opening his system panel.

Soon, the familiar white light appeared on Igarashi's hand and a long white polearm materialized.

Igarashi held the polearm and felt... Odd. He looked at it for a moment before shaking his head.

He then handed it to Sasori and the latter wielded it.

"Go on, try it." Igarashi said, smiling.

Sasori nodded with an "Umu" and started moving the polearm.

"Hup!" Sasori grunted as he started spinning the polearm and moving it all over his body, while still keeping the precision.

Seeing how proficient Sasori is, Igarashi was actually surprised. 'He's good...'

He left Sasori alone with his new weapon and started packing some things. He decided to close for today and look for Noctilucous Jade with Sasori today.

Igarashi just brought with him some essential things. Money, weapons, food, and a hammer to smash out Noctilocous jade from the rocks which he bought from the weapon section.

He placed them all in the system inventory and looked at Sasori outside who was still spinning his polearm which attracted the attention of a few people.

Seeing this, Igarashi chuckled and called him in using their fake names. "Liang!"

Sasori heard it and immediately stopped what he was doing and went back inside.

"Are you ready?" Igarashi said. Preparing to go on his first outdoor journey in this world.

"..." Sasori stayed silent as he looked at his polearm, seemingly in deep thought.

Seeing this, Igarashi slightly tilted his head and asked, "What's wrong?"

Sasori gripped his hand tightly on the polearm, without Igarashi noticing. He was silent for a solid minute before looking up to Igarashi with somewhat determined eyes.

Seeing this, Igarashi was even more shocked. It was the first time he saw Sasori making an expression other than his usual bored expression.

"...It's nothing." Sasori replied.

Igarashi didn't know what was happening with Sasori and just shrugged his shoulders. 'Can puppets enter puberty? Is he perhaps entering "That" stage? Maybe I shouldn't have set his age to 14... Hmm...'

Igarashi once more shrugged and opened the door. "Well then, if there's nothing else, let's go. I already placed a notice on the door, so if Mo Fan arrived, he'll get the gist of what's happening."

After explaining, Igarashi went outside, only waiting for Sasori who was still inside. As for the latter, he looked up to Igarashi's figure that was being outlined by the morning sun and nodded. 'Yes... I'll make sure...'

After that, Sasori also went outside and Igarashi locked the door. Leaving with Sasori to Mingyun Village where Noctilocous Jade is abundant.

However, the two of them did not notice the sudden appearance of a circular object appearing in Sasori's pocket. And the circular object... Had an electro symbol on it as it glowed a deep purple.
