Girl in the dark forest
In the dark and dangerous woods, two young men are bravely walking with their phones as flashlights. The man who's leading is Troye and behind him is the guy named Fablo.
Fablo brushed his greasy hair and thanked himself because he didn't think of wearing short pants before leaving their apartment. He thought that if he did, he might have been itching right now because the forest has long sharp grasses.
He looked intently at the man in front of him which is Troye. He was the one who brought Fablo to this grassy forest.
Troye who's busy scanning the area didn't bother looking at him. The fact that Fablo didn't know who they are looking for annoys him. He doesn't want to go here this early in the morning but he had no choice because he can't let Troye go alone.
Earlier, at exactly 3 am, Troye woke him up saying someone needs their help. He didn't even give him a chance to think about it and immediately rushed here.
They've been walking and running for 30 minutes right now and they still can't find the person Troye was talking about.
Troye who's a few steps away from Fablo couldn't stop himself from worrying that he couldn't explain Fablo what is going on. All he thinks about now is to find that person immediately and help him in any way he can do. He has been trying to contact this person through his telekinetic ability but he can hardly reach him.
Troye is a very kind person. He won't think twice about helping even a stranger. Even if Fablo doesn't want to do this, he can't leave him alone because of the fear that Troye might put himself in danger. If that happens, he will certainly die because he doesn't know how to protect himself. After all, he is weak physically.
Fablo ran closer to him and grabbed him by the shoulder stopping him from continuously walking. "Don't stop me Fablo. He needs our help," Troye said in a serious tone and removed his hand from his arm.
Fablo frowned at him. "Didn't I tell you not to read my mind?"
He looked ahead and walked again and Fablo couldn't do anything but follow him. "I didn't read your mind. I just knew you didn't want us to come here," Troye answered causing Fablo to gasped.
"You're gonna get me in trouble again," Fablo replied and put both his hands inside his pants' pockets and looked at him annoyingly.
Troye turned to him and said, "I didn't force you to come," then continue walking again.
Fablo couldn't help but be annoyed by Troye's attitude. This kid is really testing his patience.
"You'll end up dead without me," he replied. "You're a weakling. We both know that."
"Yeah, I know. But I might be able to do something," Troye answered. He just doesn't want to sit and wait for something to happen.
In the eight years, they've been together, Fablo can hardly count how many times Troye has done this to him. They've known each other ever since they were in the orphanage. The two of them are not relatives but Fablo considers him as a younger brother because he is four years older. Troye is the only one he considered as his family and Troye feels the same.
Fablo was fifteen years old and Troye was eleven years old when they decided to flee the orphanage when they saw an opportunity.
In fact, Fablo didn't plan to escape with him but he insisted. He didn't think that Troye would trust him that much to consider endangering his life just to come with him. Troye once said that he would not let Fablo perish alone.
Troye is like that to everyone especially to those who are closes to him. It makes Fablo wonder why he wants to help this person so much.
This forest is quite far from their apartment and they've never been to this place so he wondered how Troye met this guy that he wants to help.
Fablo scanned the area to make sure that no one is following them. He doesn't want to let his guard down because there might also be wild animals around. He just stopped looking around when he noticed that Troye was far away from him and he was talking to a woman. She has long black hair and has the same age as Troye.
Fablo raised an eyebrow and immediately ran closer to them. He didn't think that they'd run to a woman in the middle of the forest and that made him suspicious.
"You are probably the person he was talking about," the woman said cheerfully as she looks at Troye but when she turned to Fablo, she suddenly felt awkward because the man is looking at her seriously.
Troye answered, "We are actually looking for someone. I believe he's been with you," making Fablo gazed at him.
"So this girl is not the person we are looking for?" Fablo thought to himself.
The woman nodded to Troye and sighed in relief.
"He's Fablo, my friend," Troye pointed him but he just looked at her.
The woman beamed at Fablo shyly and Fablo noticed that the woman is uncomfortable with him.
"I'm Dazaree. Nice meeting you," she introduced herself and held out her hand. Fablo was about to ignore it but Troye slightly pushed him to reach her hand so he had no choice but to accept it.
The truth is, Fablo doesn't trust her. It's quite suspicious for a woman to wander in the forest this late and Troye is too naive to trust her. Furthermore, it is almost impossible to find this woman that fast in this dark place. This isn't Troye nor his doing so it must be her.
Fablo stared at her and said, "We couldn't possibly found you," causing the two to look at him.
"Tell me Dazaree. You found us, right?" he asked in a serious tone while looking straight into her eyes. If this woman is hiding something, he must catch her red-handed.
"You are scaring her, Fablo," Troye interrupted.
Dazaree couldn't help but gulp because of what Fablo said. She finds the man scary like one of the guys that attacked her.
Meanwhile, Fablo is so sure that she found them and that makes her suspicious in his eyes. All his suspicion were proven when she slowly nodded her head.
"Before Kithe left, he told me that I can't come with with him because it's dangerous. He told me to wait here because someone is coming to help me." She paused and looked at the two men before continuing.
"...someone like us."
Troye and Fablo gazed at each other upon hearing what she just said.
"What?" Fablo queried.
"She's one of us, Fablo." Troye said while beaming. He knew from the beginning that she is just like them who are different from normal beings.
"You were able to find us because of your power?" Fablo asked.
"I think so. I'm don't know how but one thing is for sure, It's not normal. I'm not normal." She said while looking at her palm. Dazaree heard fablo and Troye's voices through the breeze but still isn't aware how it happens. All she did was follow it until she found Troye and Fablo.
"You said earlier that you're lost. We can help you out." Troye said and smiled at her.
Her face brightened as if all her problems went away and smiled. "Really? Thank you!"
Her face is as innocent as Troye's but the fact that she's a stranger to them makes Fablo want to be cautious around her. It's just hard for him to trust people, unlike Troye.
Fablo thought that she might be a wolf in a sheep's clothing and he can't afford to take a risk.
"Maui will fetch us outside the forest," Troye said while Fablo stayed at their back.
Troye is the one taking the lead because he knows the way out. He has a good memory which is the opposite of Fablo because he often gets lost so all he could do is follow him and rely upon his abilities.
"He's coming?" Fablo asked, astounded.
"Yeah" Troye answered and showed him Maui's message.
Maui is their friend and Troye's roommate in their apartment. Fablo was surprised that Maui is going to fetch them because Maui is an online games addict and at this kind of time, he's usually playing with his computer so it's unusual that he'll do them a favor.
Fablo wondered if Troye is gonna take the girl home with them and it doesn't feel right with him.
"I am not planning to let her stay in our apartment room though," Fablo heard Troye in his mind. He's using his telekinetic ability again to communicate with Fablo.
Fablo just shook his head as he follows them from behind.
