DAZAREE: Dark Knight [PART 3]
Kithe suddenly woke up suffocated. He felt as if the air around him was dissipating, and he noticed Dazaree sleeping on the ground and breathing heavily. They are still in the middle of the forest, and the sudden disappearance of the air is unnatural.
Dazaree's inability to control her power will endanger her as well. Kithe returned his gaze to her and roused her, knowing that if he didn't, both of them would perish.
She awoke holding her neck and catching her breath. In her dreams, Dazaree saw her aunt assaulting her. She's so terrified that even nature is reacting to her overwhelming power.
"Calm down," Kithe said and tapped her back. She slowly calmed down as the air came back to normal. She thought she's going to die.
Kithe locked his gaze on Dazaree. Earlier in the fight, he thought her attack was strange because he knew it hit him, but he could withstand it. Later, he felt something strange inside his body and felt internal pain, which caused him to cough blood.
One thing is for sure, she has the ability to control the air but unfortunately, she hasn't mastered it. The lesser she knows how to control her own power, the lesser she has a chance to live.
"You're awake!" She said while looking at Kithe with her worried eyes. "What happened to you? You suddenly fell to the ground. I was so scared. I thought you will die."
Dazaree stayed with him to make sure he was all right. He had a high fever, and she was concerned that it would worsen. She had no idea she had fallen asleep due to exhaustion. They both became weak as a result of their use of power.
"Yeah, I will really die if I stayed with you," Kithe mumbled.
"Huh?"
"Nothing."
Kithe looked around and it seems like the sun will soon rise. His job here is finally over. Now, he must leave this place and go back to the island and continue with his plan to go back to Kronos.
He was about to stand up to leave when he heard someone spoke in his head.
"Where are you?"
"You again," annoyed, he spoke in his mind. "Who are you?" This guy has been speaking to him via telepathy and he does not like it. How was this person able to talk to him anyway?
"It's me. Troye. The man you saved last time," the voice replied.
Then suddenly, Kithe remembered the last operation he did with the team he killed. He was the guy he saved before this girl. Troye has been searching for him because he wanted to help him but Kithe has been denying him.
That time he was able to save him without having to kill his team. He was able to put them to sleep before they see his face. Kithe never planned to kill them though because it's going to be dangerous for him. K will be suspicious of him now for returning alone. No one will believe that a high-rank agent will die just like that.
"Why are you inside my head?" Kithe asked.
The voice of a man spoke again, "I've been trying to locate you ever since that day. There are things I want to ask you. There are things that are still a mystery for us that I'm sure you know."
"I'm sorry but I'm not the man you thought I am. Get out of my head at once." Kithe said firmly.
"I know we can trust you. We need you."
"No. You can't so leave me alone," he replied and shook his head.
Kithe doesn't want anyone to get involved.
The man spoke again, "Please Kithe. I know you need our help too." He seemed so sure with his words.
"I don't but someone here does need your help," Kithe said and glanced at Dazaree before telling the man where they are.
He can't bring her with him. Knowing that guy's kindness, Kithe knows he will help her. He stood up and noticed that Dazaree's staring at her.
She's wondering what he's thinking because he seems to drown in thoughts.
"Take me with you!" She determinedly said.
"No," he firmly said and turned around. There is no point explaining to her, he thought.
"But I don't know where to go!" She answered.
"Someone's coming here for you." For some reason, Kithe is having second thoughts about the guy named Troye.
"W-what? Who?" She queried in surprise and at the same time, she's scared.
Kithe let out a long sigh. He doesn't want to endanger her, but this is her only option. He reached into his pocket for something. It's a tiny GPS device. It's a new device designed by his mother. When you stick it to someone, it becomes invisible and can only be removed using the remote that was created with it.
He wanted to use it to Dazaree to ensure her safety but he shook his head and put it back in his pocket. She can protect herself, he reasoned.
Besides, he can't afford to waste his time with her. There are a lot more people that he needs to protect too. After killing his comrades, K will be suspicious. He needs to create a perfect alibi to get away from this but there is a high chance that the man won't buy it.
He has to take his mom away from that place first just as planned. "Hang in there mom. Please," he said in his mind.
Flashback…
Kithe walked towards his mom who's currently looking at the holographic monitor in front of her.
"Mom, I can't take this anymore."
His mother came to a halt and looked at him. Her son's presence surprised her because she appeared to be so focused on what she was doing.
"Mom. The children. They are suffering. They are murdering them," Kithe snarled and gritted his teeth as he brushed his hair with his fingers.
My mom covered her mouth with her hands with her eyes widened.
"W-what?" Kithe's mom, Kina, was surprised by what her son said.
Kithe held her shoulders tightly and looked around first to make sure no one's listening before speaking.
"The kids that they told me to take and bring here. They were never helping them." He felt like all his energy was drained after saying that. He feels sick of himself.
Earlier he sneaked into the laboratory that he has never entered because they said that we're not allowed to go inside it. He saw a lot of bodies of the kids that he thought he saved. They are dead. And few of them were in a huge glass tube of water. Kithe knew that it is not normal because that is not what they promised them.
Kina and Kithe were working for K, the leader and founder of Kronos for five years. And for that five years, Kithe has been taking orphans and stray kids from orphanages and streets telling them we're going to help them have a better life.
Most are just normal kids without power. K's using them for human experiments. The successful subjects will be his agents. They are created and formed to capture the people or children that have natural inhuman abilities.
Kithe still doesn't know anything about people like him but, he doesn't want to put them in danger. He doesn't want them to be used. Innocent children were killed just to capture them.
He was being used all this time and he hates it so much.
"The blood they were taking from me, mom, they were using it for human experiments," he explained the things that he found out after investigating.
Kina loses her balance but Kithe was able to hold her. She's so terrified by what she heard. She couldn't believe that all this time, she's a pawn to illegal activities. The worse is that her son got involved and many children died.
K knew since the beginning that Kina and Kithe were different from normal human beings and he said before that he just wanted to know more about them so they had no choice but to let him take some of his blood to test it. He was helping them ever since he's a child. Kithe and Kina had no choice since the beginning.
Kithe's dad died because of an incident before he was born and K was the one who helped them. They trusted him. What they didn't know was that they were just his pawn for his evil plans.
"They are committing a crime and we're helping them, mom. It's my fault," Kithe said.
Kina shook her head and grabbed his son's face.
"No. It's not your fault. It was my fault son. I'm sorry," she said and started tearing up as he started embracing her son.
After that, they planned to stay in Kronos. Kithe will make them believe that he's doing the task they gave him and save the kids they plan to take. Kina will be investigating while she's in Kronos because they still don't know why K is capturing people like them. Whatever his plans are, they have to stop it.
It's been a month since Kithe left Kronos to continue my assigned mission. That is to capture the powerful teenagers living in the area.
Troye and Dazaree are just one of Kithe's kind who has unbelievable power. They are the people K was looking for to continue with his experiments. He can't let him succeed with his plans and he will make sure to kill him for all the lives that he took.
