06. Well He Won't Understand

After becoming the chief of the goblin village, Arthur is now living in the biggest house in the village.

"This house is as big as my fucking bedroom."

The shack, was extremely small, well compared to a well off person of the modern era it was for sure small.

The shack while facing the door has a small bed to fit a single person at the bare maximum at the top left of the room. With an armor stand at the top right of the room beside the bed. Well the armor stand was more of just a pole that you can hang a sword on.

And the only other thing was a little more space and a table with a single chair.

The place may be small but it was technically the biggest house in the village. The other goblins live in shared rooms full of beds connected to each other.

The only other person with a single room was the Saintess. With the title of a Saintess in the village there should typically be a Saint, but there wasn't.

After reviewing his room, Arthur called the Saintess to ask her more questions about this world, or better, this weird village.

But sadly to his upcoming conversation, it wasn't the village that was weird. It was him, that came from another world.

"How many other villages are in this land."

"I don't know much but there are about more than 10 then the kingdom sits in the middle.".

"First you don't have to be so formal to me, just talk like you used to. And second, a village?"

"I cannot do that to you chieftain, and yes the castle the king resides."

"The goblins have a king?".

Despite being goblins, these goblins are not your prey, they have an entire civilization with even a King as its ruler.

"Well, let's make this village better first." Arthur is now done being serious and went out of his house.

The village is extremely slow, only consisting of less than 100 people, 76 to be exact.

The village was small, too small to hold what Arthur wanted.

"Saintess, do you have any currency in this village?"

"Currency?"

"How do you trade with others."

"By changing spoils."

"So bartering..."

For a civilization with a king, bartering seems to be off. But as they are goblins it makes more sense. As much of a goblin racist Arthur is being like, he first wanted to know if what he wanted was in the village.

"Do you have any place where you get missions? Or orders?"

"Right there."

It was beside his house. A board was on a wall with written papers in a writing system he has never seen before.

"Well I have seen that... it's a text usually used in many fantasy stories, some random mix of gibberish and greek letters."

It was a new language that even Arthur could not understand. But he did not have to worry about that. As Arthur got closer to the board, a screen popped up.

"What did you just say?"

"Oh, you can go do your thing now. I'll call you when I need you.". The Saintess left, and he continued.

[Kill 10 Cows][100 Exp]

[Butcher 10 Animals][100 Exp]

[Kill 10 Rabbits][100 Exp]

[Kill 10 Goats][100 Exp]

The missions of this village were very underwhelming, or maybe because after fighting and killing a dragon, Rabbits are too little and easy to fight.

But the missions was definitely surprising as all of those animals existed in Arthur's original world. He had expected newer animals only found in fantasies.

But he couldn't care less, he didn't even look at the available missions. I lied about what I said last paragraph.

[Unite The World As Its Rightful Owner]

[Time Limit: 01:12:354]

[Failure Penalty: Death]

The time limit showed a pattern of [Year:Month:Days]. It has only been 2 days since the time he was summoned. Well at least the time it was from the very beginning.

In the end all of what Arthur was doing is working.

"Fuck Yeah! Oh Yeah! Hell Yeah! Let's Fucking Go!"

Arthur was so happy, then it disappeared. Arthur went to meet all the other goblins to mobilize them. It may have only been 2 days, but it is a full planet he has to conquer, and he has only gotten one village.

...

Arthur assembled all the goblins outside the village. As there was not even a space to hold everyone inside. Thankfully the outside is very spacious.

The goblins gathered but there were only 64 of them, he was sure he didn't kill anyone and there is no way the weird loyalty of the Saintess(the whole village) will lie to him.

"Where are the other 12?"

The Saintess answered. "The hunters have been hunting in the forest the entire day."

Arthur felt weird once again. It felt like a trope was going to happen that he would certainly like to avoid. But that time will come later, right now he wants to reform the village.

And how you may wonder? Well once again, no one knows.

"As your new chieftain, and as my first order, I want to expand the village."

Then a random goblin asked. "We don't have enough material to do that chieftain."

"What materials?"

"Wood."

"Uhhh..." Even Arthur could-"There are trees... around you, what do you mean."

Then the Saintess answered, "Cutting a tree takes more than a day."

"How? Why don't you use an axe?"

"Axe?" More than one goblin asked. This village is definitely weirder now. A village that has swords, though a question on where it came from lingers as there was no blacksmith in the village, now they don't even know what an axe is.

"Then why don't you use your sword?"

"How?"

"Then how do you gather wood?"

The Saintess answered again

"We got wood from the Kingdom.". It seems like the entire situation of this village is much worse than Arthur can imagine. He may not understand right now, but it was simple.

"Well... Let us get some tree logs, shall we."

"How?" Is what the entire atmosphere was saying.

Arthur of course had no axe nor a suitable sword, well he does have the chieftains sword, but he had a better weapon.

Arthur made everyone follow him to the forest and showed himself cutting trees.

He used the dragon scale that he first used as a throwing weapon to the goblins, some were injured because of this, but none died.

Arthur took the pointiest part of the scale and kept stabbing the log multiple times till it was cut down and fell.

It was inefficient but he was successful. All the goblins were surprised, like their entire life was a lie.

But this then resulted in another problem, the scale isn't precise in cutting and it was obviously not as good as how an axe would be.

So Arthur tried to make an axe using the scale. In the most simplest way, he asked some of the goblins to gather durable small wood and vines.

The goblins came back and they had no small wood, but the wood they brought was different from the forest, this also explained why the wood of the village was much lighter colored than the dark forest.

But it was an easy fix, arthur just carved smaller wood in the size of a proper handle. He then carved the top using the scale by just grinding it till it fit half the scale, then tied both with vines.

"There, an Axe. You there, use this and swing it on the tree.". The goblins all still stood there. Their patience is commendable, but it was creepy period

The random goblin Arthur called was surprised and successfully cut down a tree.

While that was happening Arthur made more axes and handed it to more goblins. After only an hour, Arthur made all the scales he had except for 1 as an axe and handed it to the goblins.

Now that the goblins were cutting trees, the forest was getting shaved.

Arthur originally had 24 scales and now he only has 1 and he has made 23 axes.

Arthur asked the others to carry the wood to the village and the rest went back to what they were doing. Then after a few more hours a new problem arises, the vines were not that durable that they needed to be replaced again as they just broke. It was a hindrance but right now that is a problem he can fix by just replacing it, but soon he has to find a better fix.

As he was ordering and supervising the wood cutting the missing 12 goblins finally arrived.

The leader of that group arrived and Arthur met him first. The goblin raised his sword at Arthur.

"I am the chieftain of your village now, put your sword down."

"Who are you to declare yourself chieftain! I am the future chieftain! I am personally heired by the King!"

The 12 goblins raised there swords. The 12 were either stupid or they were right about what they said. The hierarchy in this area seems to be very strict. And the amount if time I have to say stupid is getting fucking annoying let me-

The Saintess came forward pointing her sword with lots of guards and yelled.

"You dare raise your swords at the chieftain. Kill the traitors."

Arthur was basically ignored at that moment and he just moved aside and watched as the saintess and the soldiers killed the 12 goblins.

The 12 looked so terrified and could not even talk nor move properly. They were all brutally killed and were immediately buried in just the span of a few scenes.

"Well that was so graphic I don't think I even want that to be described."

The goblins were ripped in the stomachs and as the swords were rusty and not the sharpest, when they pulled the sword to the sides, the intestines were pulled out and spilled. The attack didn't stop there as they cut the head in half horizontally with the eyes pouring out.

"Well now that was worded, it didn't seem so bad."

The ground was filled with organs and blood and as they took just the main body and buried it the organs were left on the ground and the Saintess only had one thing to say about that.

"They are great food for the animals and the ground."

That was the first day of Arthur in that village and it was an interesting day.

From teaching the goblins what an axe is, to getting wood for future development. And to seeing the merciless of this goblins to brutally murder a comrade they have definitely spent a lot of time with in 0 remorse. The mystery of this land has yet to be unveiled.
