07. Useless Chapter(2)

"Just Die."

***

"Well what a bleak dream, I really don't like mirrors."

Arthur slept for the entire hour, it was very hard for him to fall asleep and even close his eyes, as he had none.

The goblins were very happy about the invention of axes and when Arthur woke up, the entire village was seeing a huge pile of wood towering higher than the village walls.

"Ok they went a little excessive I think. Wait now that I think about it... how do you replant trees.". Arthur was just a normal person. He had no knowledge of agriculture. This kingdom building will surely be the most scuffed of any story.

"Guess i'll just shave this entire island or conti-nent..."

Arthur talked with the Saintess before he went to sleep about what the leader of the 12 goblins that were brutally murdered said.

And it was all true. But he had nothing to worry about as he had won in a fair way. And even if he was picked by the king, as he declared a fight against the chieftain without proper procedure he was killed.

It was weirdly understandable. The actions may seem violent, but it made some sense, whether Arthur wanted it to be or not.

Arthur went out of the village and stopped the goblins from cutting anymore wood.

But then he made them continue as he had better things to do other than ordering them to stop at the moment.

Arthur saved this load and ventured into the forest alone. He wanted to look for better alternatives from vines, the goblins may not be able to get wood before but getting vines was something they could do, so even if it was an almost infinite resource the problem of it breaking was something Arthur wanted to fix fast. As the axe was not the only thing he wanted to make, even a pickaxe was needed.

Arthur ordered the rest of the people that had the ability to survive venturing in the forest to look for anything that resembles a vine but is more durable.

Arthur had no idea on how to develop a kingdom, even the Au-

So Arthur is just gonna rely on the basic fundamentals and learn along the way.

Arthur ventured into the forest even reaching the shore once again. Arthur wanted ropes, as vines break at a couple swings, that some even just used the scale. But the problem is, Arthur didn't know how ropes were even made.

But he did know one thing, that ropes are connected to trees. So as a normal person trying to find rope, Arthur cut another tree down and dissected all its parts.

He first started with leaves, paper came from leaves so maybe ropes did too, but that was nothing as they get ripped so fast.

So then he moved to carving the wood into thin forms and trying them as ropes. But well, they end up becoming way too weak and break or too thick to not even bend.

Arthur tried and tried, he picked up some branches from the top of the tree and tried to tie it as they were seemingly easy to bend.

And luckily for Arthur, he got the right tree to find it. A bark, tho he doesn't know what it is called.

As Arthur broke more tree branches he found a much thicker tree branch with a weird texture.

As he bent the branch and it split a piece of the branch was not split or separated. The bark of the tree just separated from the branch and Arthur realized it.

He bent the bark and tied it to his finger. It was that. He then pulled the bark apart in different directions and it got pulled off. Arthur was put off by this and just thought he failed to find it again. But thankfully he realized he was just so strong it got separated easily.

Arthur found barks and went back to his save point.

Arthur may not have been able to learn the process of making the best type of rope from barks, or even the way to process a bark, he still found a suitable rope.

Arthur led some of the goblins to get barks from trees, though he sadly then realized he should have waited for the other goblins to get back if they had found everything.

He was too excited to even remember that. But that was just Arthur being Arthur, nothing wrong there.

Arthur took an axe and changed the vines(for context the vines are leave less vines all combined together and twisted)

Which then made Arthur learn something.

It wasn't as visible but the tree bark was definitely like a cooked chicken, when picked apart it was coupled with lots of thin pieces. And the bark had this, it was just not so visible. So arthur tried to reveal these pieces, he did not know how it works but he painstakingly pulled it finger by finger. If any expert sees him, they would vomit.

But he then soon learns he can just rub it against each other and he even uses his thigh.

Using a human's thigh would usually not work, but Arthur's body was more durable and wouldn't get injured or even scratched by the bark at all.

Arthur found the little pieces separating each other. Arthur still didn't find the actual way, but Arthur basically twisted the ropes till they looked like a spiral.

Arthur tied the axe together again with the twisted bark and it was definitely more durable.

The dragon scale was far too sharp for any ropes, so even if the bark was better, it only lasted twice the amount of the vines.

With the amount of work he did, he deemed it very not worth it.

"Aaahhhh, Fuck this shit! You know what. Ok scratch that, i'll just make stone axes, maybe that will work better than the sharp scales.".

As the woods and barks piled up more and more behind Arthur, he was just carving stone by smashing it with another stone to make the best axe head.

"This is much harder than I thought."

With other goblins beside him, soon a goblin better than him made an axe head that he wanted to make. It seems like he just lacked the skill to it.

But Arthur didn't want to back down, he broke the stones in small pieces and just grinded two stones together to carve the axe head.

Arthur spent the whole day making an axe head, while the other goblins have made dozens, he has made 1.

"Just skip this shit, this is such a useless chapter."

Great title. With the axe heads, now arthur needs to make the handles, but that seemed very hard as the axe heads he made everyone do are actual axe heads of modern axes, so it cannot be put inside a hole of wood poles.

So Arthur just made everyone use the heads without the handles, he was very done for making these things for the next days so would like to move on.

"Who said that?"

Arthur is a very hard working person. To be humiliated at making a stone head, Arthur repeatedly made stone heads for days and days, turning to months, then turning to years. Of course by going back to a save.

Arthur got a skill that maybe even the Author felt forced to do. I promise this is all planned, not because the character Arthur is way too insane.

[You Have Unlocked The Skill "Carving"]

[You Have Made The Skill "Stone Head Carving"]

The first skill he gained helped him a lot to make axe heads, and the second skill gave him the ability to even make pickaxe heads.

Arthur at that span of time has also figured out a way to make handles by transforming the only dragon head he had by making it thinner. It was hard to break the dragon scale it even took another dragon scale to break.

With a thinner dragon scale, Arthur was able to carve a hole into the axe head and place the log inside perfectly. Now Arthur has made an actual axe. It may have taken more than a year, but it shows, that hard work can even make anyone an inventor. Though the axe may be a little too perfect.

Arthur went to the save before he even started looking for bark. Now not even needing a bark for an axe, though he still needs them, just completely ignored its existence.

By making better axes for the goblins, that are even sharper than a dragon scale, Arthur was able to get all his dragon scales back and he finally started the village expansion. After a day of making axes.

Now with a stack pile of logs towering so high in the sky. Arthur found out that the village actually had builders. So this time he had no problem figuring things out. Well for the walls at least.

Arthur still wanted to make a good house. Not just a pile of logs towered together and even more logs just laying at the top as roofs.

It looks more like a block game than real life.

"Maybe that was why every person that doesn't know how to build just either dig a hole or make a cave their home. It is so much better and easier."

So then, Arthur carved the wood. Removing its barks and making it smooth. With his perfected skills of carving, making wood planks was very easy.

But instead of making a better house, Arthur just made them a little complicated... by adding triangle roofs.

As the houses just had flat roofs, Arthur cut the planks in half and laid them in a triangular shape. By first following the original flat roof and making a triangle logging at the front and back of the rectangular house and making planks long enough to late it sideways.

As hard as it is to describe a wooden house, Arthur finally constructed the first ever house in his village.

Arthur thought of teaching this to the builders after they finished building the walls, the walls were also really bad. But he had no more knowledge about wooden walls, and only wooden houses.

So as an Arthur way...

1 year later...

To completely fill the new area of the village as it was getting expanded through the entire open space outside, more than 5x bigger than the current village, Arthur made wooden houses faster than crossing a river.

After a completely long journey of making axes and houses, Arthur has made his village much larger, and with the goblins starting to change, Arthur is in for a new real challenge next time.

We Promise.

Sorry for this useless chapter, but I really weirdly got so into it lol.
