Game Of Thrones: Reborn AS Pokémon

In a world where the faith of the Old Ones, ancient and faceless gods residing in the green wood, once thrived among the First Men and the Children of the Forest, a shift occurred with the Andal Invasion. The Faith of the Seven gained prominence, leading to the destruction of weirwoods in the southern realms, except for the Isle of Faces guarded by green men. However, in the North, the faith in the Old Ones persisted, with every castle maintaining a Godswood and a heart tree adorned with mysterious faces. Unlike other mortal gods, the identity of the Old Ones remained elusive, represented only by weirwood trees, sometimes resembling a horned deity. The rulers of the First Men, instead of adorning themselves with precious helms, chose antler helms, considering them divine symbols connecting to their bloodline origins. Enter Jay, who, after a reincarnation, unexpectedly becomes the God of Life, Xerneas, inadvertently revitalizing the faith in the Old Ones. This sets the stage for a story exploring the clash of ancient beliefs, the resurgence of a forgotten faith, and the mystical journey of a Pokémon deity reborn in a world torn between dead and living.

Chapter 34

In the heart of the Riverlands, nestled by the calm waters of the God's Eye River, lies the island of God's Eye. Here dwell the ancient and mystical Green Men, adorned in robes of vibrant green. They are the keepers of the faith of the Old Gods, guardians of sacred weirwood trees that whisper secrets from ages long past.

At first, the presence of the Green Men was just a whisper, confined to the fairy tails. But like ripples spreading across a still pond, their influence began to extend beyond the island's shores. Devout pilgrims and believers, seeking solace after Xerneas's awakening, carried their faith.

As the Green Men ventured forth, spreading their faith with quiet determination, they encountered resistance from the common folk, wary of unfamiliar beliefs, customs and also there strange appearance. Yet, with each blessing bestowed upon the land, with each bountiful harvest that followed, hearts softened, and skepticism gave way to acceptance. The commoners, hungry for prosperity, welcomed the Green Men with open arms, their once-doubting minds now filled with reverence for the ancient gods.

Meanwhile, among the noble lords of the Riverlands, curiosity mingled with apprehension at the sight of the Green Men and their burgeoning influence. Legends spoke of their mysterious origins and their connection to the primal forces of nature. Some saw them as harbingers of fortune, while others viewed them with suspicion, fearing the power they wielded over the hearts and minds of the people.

Driven by their insatiable curiosity, noble lords dispatched their men to capture the Green Men. But each attempt was thwarted by the common folk, fiercely protective of those who had brought prosperity to their lands.

Amidst the backdrop of political intrigue and simmering tensions between rival houses, the spread of the Old Gods' faith did not go unnoticed. In the shadow of conflict between Riverland and Westerland lords, the voice of the Green Men grew louder, their message of unity and reverence for nature resonating across the land.

And then came the epiphany, whispered by the ancient weirwood trees themselves. Xerneas, one of the oldest and most revered of the Old Gods, imparted upon the Green Men a vision—a vision of a world united under the banner of the Old Gods, where faith transcended petty squabbles and ancient rivalries.

With renewed purpose, the Green Men redoubled their efforts, their footsteps echoing across the Riverlands as they spread the word of the Old Gods far and wide. But as their influence grew, so too did the opposition. In response, another faith militant arose, determined to stem the tide of the Old Gods' resurgence. They sought to extinguish the growing influence of the Old Gods, viewing it as a threat to the established order.

The Sparrows gathered their followers, marshaling their forces to eradicate the influence of the Green Men. They sought to destroy the weirwood trees, the sacred symbols of the Old Gods, and quash the growing faith before it could take root.

Even when Xerneas bestowed blessings upon the land and its people, regardless of their faith through the weirwood tree, some Priests and fanatical followers of seven, blinded by their fanaticism, attributed the miracle to the Mother, one of the Seven. They sought to quell the growing fervor for the Old Gods, resorting to violence and persecution. They hunted down those who had converted, dragging them through the streets and casting them into prisons.

The Green Men, witnessing the suffering of the innocent, could no longer remain silent. They emerged from the shadows, confronting the Sparrows with the truth of their faith. But the Sparrows showed no mercy, their hearts hardened by zealotry.

In their madness, the Sparrows sought to destroy all remnants of the Old Gods, burning the weirwood trees remaining in the South as a decoration of garden within in the castle of Lords either by force or willingly and persecuting their followers. But little did they know, the Old Gods were not confined to the trees alone. It's won't be long before they pay the price for what they have done.

Xerneas couldn't control his anger and released a massive curse upon those who harmed his faithful followers and servants, those who made their lives miserable, and even those who took their lives. He was especially enraged by those who killed the Green Men out of fanaticism, challenging his authority by displaying their heads on spikes to deny the existence of the Old Gods. This was the second time Xerneas had unleashed his power to such an extent.

The men afflicted by the curse cried out in agony as the pain spread throughout their bodies. Their suffering seemed endless, and even the Maesters' painkillers were ineffective. It was like their bones were being crushed, and as the days passed, their bodies began to bleed from every pore.

Witnessing the agony of those who held faith in the Seven, and seeing how it led to madness, those who had only half-hearted faith in the Seven gradually stopped their passive aggression towards the faith of the Old Gods. This resulted in the release of the imprisoned followers of the Old Gods and the Green Men.

Many of the cursed individuals sought out the Green Men in hopes of finding a cure for the strange disease that seemed incurable. The Green Men, recalling their teachings that every life is important, offered a solution: they could remove their limbs. Initially, many resisted, but as the pain became unbearable, they eventually agreed to sever their limbs.

Most of the Faith Militant fell victim to the curse and were no longer capable of resisting the will of Xerneas. What remained were many disabled men who might eventually succumb to death. However, despite the casualties, it was revealed that the Green Men were in fact immortal and could be reborn through a ritual allowed by Xerneas. Thus, there was no real loss, and the mortals who suffered under the faith became even more determined to spread the faith of the Old Gods, along with green men. Eventually, the faith of the Old Gods spread throughout the land.
