TAUNTS...

ALEXA...

She was tall for a woman badly somewhere within 5 foot 9 or 6 foot 2. She always made her hair into a bun. She had brown eyes and a   curvy body. She was shaped like an hourglass as the curves graced the right places. She was a victim of war. Her Pack was attacked. Everyone in the Pack lost their life, well, except her. It was when Alpha Connor and his warriors had gone to check if there were any survivors that they had found her crying, carefully tucked somewhere safe.

But she was always ranting at top of her voice or was laughing at something. To be honest I did not know why their conversation disturbed me to this extent.

Maybe it was because I felt that He was looking for the leanest chance before he would spring on her as a leopard would spring on its hunt.

I felt she was an ignorant prey, while Walker was the predator. I soon got back to work but I couldn't concentrate like how I had been concentrating before he came in.

It soon seems to work. My fingers and mind returned to the keyboard after some minutes of introspection.

But it did not last though. Some minutes later he was at my desk, breathing down my neck. His presence was domineering and seemingly unavoidable but I did not talk nor look at him as he prowled beside me.

I even got more serious with my typing to avoid any distractions. I wish he could just leave me alone now and move on to attend to others around. Some people were already beginning to make faces and give me mischievous winks. I couldn't help but grit my teeth disgustingly.

But he seemed to notice my fear and stayed. "Alexa. Am I right?" He says, startling me in the process. How did he get to know me even when there was no name tag on the desk or my office garb.

How did he get to know me, I thought within that fraction of a second. We had never met face to face but maybe he was one of the numerous guys that had made friends with my sister. Gabriella or Susan were the options. It seemed most likely to be Gabriella, as she found it very hard to keep things to herself. But there were chances that Susan had told him while they discussed some minutes ago at her desk

I did not think Susan could tell him about me. Even though she was always ranting she had her limits. It's laughable now to imagine that I once crushed heavily on him before I discovered his true self.

The whole thing started from rumours but I paid no attention to any of it. I hated rumours and gossip. I shot him a glance before looking back at the keyboard.

"Walker!" that was all I managed to say. "How is your sister doing?" He asked. I had always known it, I knew she must have been the one who told him about me.

I simply responded "She's great" and managed to force out a smile. "You might be wondering how I got to know you. During one of our discussions, she told me about you. Your sister, Gabriella."

"Yh. That's ok. I don't have any problem with that." I stuttered, not sure of what I was saying. "No need to introduce myself anymore," he said with a grin creasing his lips.

"You already know who I am." I turned towards him again and grinned stupidly. Surprisingly, he took it for an invitation and pulled out a chair before sitting right beside me. I silently groaned with anger. Was that a first impression?

"So tell me, what is it you are working on?" he asked before he took out a bag of pretzels that stood on the edge of the desk.

I watched as he threw one into his mouth and began to munch on it excitedly. I reckoned he could hear my wolf grumble against his being near me.

That seemed to be the reason why he refused to leave. I did not like his seemingly-looming presence. He was a distraction. "Ethics, remember?"

"Don't teach me my job?" he said in between mouthfuls. I could feel him sternly watching what I was doing. An awkward silence fell between us and  I felt as if he was noting my every code, making me very uneasy.

"I think I would be better working alone" I finally told him. The only thing he did was scoff and turn mockingly towards me again, looking me in the face. "What is this thing? What are you working on"

"Well, it's kinda programming. I blurted out, letting the irritation and anger dance in my voice. Why wasn't he getting any of the messages I was telling him. Was he so dumb that he would only understand when I would finally yell at him? The look on his face made me think he knew what he was doing but he only did it to annoy me so much.

"What are you programming?" I held myself back when he asked this question. I shut my eyes and sighed defeatedly before I asked him a question.

I sigh defeatedly and stopped typing. "Why do you even care?" I demanded and gave him a sidelong glance. "Don't pretend you care"

"I was only asking," he said. " Besides, your manager asked you guys to explain things to me when I don't understand."

"I don't think that's the time for this Walker. As you can see I am very, very busy. So that might come later ok?"

"No, I insist. Tell me now" He replied quickly now, his soft breath caressing my skin. He was still eating the pretzels.

"Just drop it! Ok?" I said and got up from my seat. "Just drop it"

Sometimes I get paranoid but I think I have taken this too far. Yet he kept laughing while looking at me in the face. Who was this man? And what exactly is his mission?
