Chapter 39-Bury The Light

Dust and rubble fill the streets as the remaining builds collapse. Okara watched from above, shaking and waiting with anger. For Crimson to get up and fight back to death.

"After all the years we've fought together! All the enemies we've battled. The good times we spent on this planet. You ruined it all by killing my wife! Don't you understand Crimson! You took the last thing keeping me from turning!" Okara pulled back both of his arms. Green orbs of energy gather before his palms.

Allowing him to begin bombarding the grounds below. Causing small earthquakes as he blasts relentlessly. Creating more smoke and dust. Breaking down chunks of building.

"I've buried all the light that used to be inside me! All the good and crap we fought for no longer exists! It was useless! It always has been!" Okara continues screaming at Crimson who is nowhere to be seen. Even still he continued to bombard him trying to kill him, obliterate him into nothing.

Then in a surge, a sudden heavy hit bashed again Okara's face and shot him back. From out of nowhere Crimson had appeared partially transforming into a Super Saiyan before retaining his base form.

"L-Leave me alone!" Crimson was still shaking his body sluggish as he tried keeping himself in the air.

Okara repositioned himself and continued facing Crimson.

"Stop pretending... Like you don't know what this is all about!"

"I-I don't want to hurt you! So please stop this!"

"You? Don't want to hurt me?... Then why did you hurt her!! Why did you hurt Cassa!!!"

Okara charged forward and Crimson prepared to fight. As Okara got closer Crimson's mind began stabbing inside causing a sharp pain to inflame within.

"Ahhh!!"

Blurred visions of the past appeared before him, excepted he couldn't recall any of it. Except for...

Okara collided against him and shot him back before consecutively attacking. As he landed thirteen hits, he prepared to knock Crimson back with a heavy. Till Crimson erupted and unwillingly transformed into a Super Saiyan.

Gritting his teeth Okara charged forward and Crimson began fighting back. But unknowing, from his perspective Crimson's mind, was unsure of what his body was doing. It's almost like the muscle memory and years of fighting sparked a reaction in his body. Allowing him to fight back against Okara.

As they clashed fists against fists. Okara felt his body getting exhausted from his God form. But thought nothing of it. Till he slipped up and took a heavy blow to the sternum from Crimson. As Okara leaned over Crimson's fist. He deformed but refused to fall. Grabbing hold of Crimson's shoulders and lifted his head. To headbutt Crimson viciously, repeatedly Okara slammed his head against Crimson's preventing him from getting away. Crimson and Okara's pupils were gone as they both fell from the sky. The earth shakes as they hit the ground causing any barely standing builds to collapse.

While they lay in craters. The rain beats down on them, both exhausted and emotionally damaged. However, not all was over as Astrid appeared above both of them. Floating and looking down at them like they were insects.

"How very boring... I expected a battle to the death, between friends, turned foes. But that, that was a pitiful performance! I hoped for more, truly. But it seems you've both left me unsatisfied. Fret not... Mortals."

Suddenly a burst of energy filled Okara. Allowing him to instantly stand.

"What did you do..." Okara questioned Astrid.

"A gift, from a friend."

"We're not friends..."

"Harsh. Well ta, ta for now. Do make it more interesting if you will."

Astrid vanished as Okara grit his teeth as he climbed over to Crimson's crater.

Without a second thought, he hopped down and onto Crimson. Quickly holding Crimson's arms down with his knees, before brutally beating into him.

"Look! (Okara drives his right fist into Crimson's face.) What! (Next his left fist, this time even harder.) You've! (Okara drives another right into Crimson's face. Digging them deeper into the crater.) Done!"

Okara sped up each time one of his punches connected. Blood covers his knuckles as he hits Crimson harder and harder. Crimson's face jolting left and right spitting blood in multiple directions. The rain was unable to wash it away as Okara didn't stop. He couldn't stop his rage, his emotions controlled him he was no longer okay with letting Crimson live. He was ready to create a world where Crimson was gone... Forever.

Crimson's face morphed as it broke from Okara's bloody rampage. Soon enough the surrounding rock crumbled onto Crimson's limbs holding him in his body-shaped coffin.

Tears filled Okara's eyes as he continued beating down his best friend.

"...O-..."

A soft breath came from Crimson as tears slowly filled his eyes too. Causing Okara to stop, mid-swing. His right bloody fist hanging in the air.

"...Okara..."

Crimson's nose was broken, his eyes bloody, hair coated in blood, his ears red, lips swollen.

"Shut up..."

Okara drove his right fist against Crimson's face again. Resuming his beatdown.

"Just die quietly! STOP TALKING!"

Blood splats, tears drop, rain washes... The events of Okara and Crimson were chilling... As friend killed friend.

With blood on his hands, Okara reached for Crimson's neck and began crushing it. Grunts came from Crimson, but they were faint as he couldn't muster the strength to say anything.

"Stop! STOP! JUST DIE QUIETLY CRIMSON! STOP TRYING TO SPEAK!"

Crimson's body shook viciously as his eyes began to close. Till a final word broke through Okara's grip. As his final breath floated away.

Okara released Crimson's throat and slowly stood up. Feeling hollow, and empty. He shakenly raised his hands and looked at them. His blood... Soaked, hands...

From afar Astrid smiled greatly. His eyes lit up with joy at the sight of Crimson's death. He began floating around in happiness as the final obstacle was removed from play.

"What a wonderful day! A splendid day indeed! My plans! My fruition! It's all coming true!"

Astrid marveled at it as he watched Okara burst off from his traumatic event.

"Now, it's time to begin... The transference."

Astrid laughed maniacally as he teleported away to his soon-to-be new body.
