Chapter 37: Last-minute Meeting 3

*Kusanagi Ken's Perspective*

With only a little bit of time left before night. Lein decided to explain the plan.

"So you just want us to fight them with all we got?" Lancer asked in confusion, his faced was all wrinkled.

"Simple right?" Lein replied

"Doesn't seem like it" Li jing commented

"The simpler the better right?!?" Lancer clenched his fist in excitement

"I do feel like this plan will work" Rider also joined in the discussion

"What about Saber of West?" Kiya asked

"Of course the strongest should fight the strongest" Lein said and placed the Berserker of East stone in front of the Saber of West. "I will be handling that damn priest" He landed the stoned with force shaking the other stones in the tables

"Must've been a bad blood between them" Luna whispered

"With this our plan is set and the defense on this town is prepared" Lein smiled "You don't have to worry about this town being decimated to the grounds" He boasted

"Are you 100% sure this will work, Teacher?" Li Jing asked

"It might" he answered

"That is absurd" she replied

"Little jing what was it one of the rules of this world? The one I taught you last month"

"Things will go as planned, might as planned or will never go as planned" she answered

"Bingo" He replied "This one is in the 'might' category… Because even I am not sure if I can fight Saber of West and get out without paying a hefty price"

"Now that's some serious problem" Luna added

Lein stood up and clapped his hands twice "Okay, if there are no further questions I would like to end this meeting and have everyone to prepare yourselves mentally and physically… this will be a war that will decide the fate of this world… nope… to be precise the fate of our country"

Everyone in the room has a serious look in their faces… everyone just nodded in silence but Lein broke the silence

"Ya'll just have to do everything you can to win… and I will handle the rest" he smiled

Everyone left the room one by one to prepare themselves but I chose to stay and talk to Lein.

"You have something for me Ken?" he asked immediately

"I only have one question for you" I replied

"I'm listening" He sat down and started drinking his coffee. Beside him was Emilia staring at me while munching the cupcakes. "Should Emilia leave?" He asked

"No its fine." I said and went back to my seat

"I'm all ears" he said

"Who is the real enemy in this war?" I asked

"Now that's surprising" Lein reacted and smiled

"So there is really something going on" I replied

"Not really… Is what I would like to say"

"Saying it like that means that the west is not the enemy then"

"Bingo"

I noticed this a few moments ago when we are talking… it seems like Lein wants to finish everything tonight… We aren't in a rush… There is indeed a one day peace treaty but the only purpose of the treaty is so we can regroup… so what is it? No… why is he so eager to finish everything tonight…

"Try and guess" Lein laid his back to the sofa and looked at me

"I don't really know what to say…"

"Well that's a problem" He replied

"So? Can you give me the answer without that guessing habit of yours"

"Hmmm… No can do" he teased "This what makes life interesting, you know?"

"I already have a very interesting war thanks to this war"

"Can't deny that" he laughed

"Can I join the game?" Emilia asked licking her fingertips with chocolate on it.

Lein smiled "Sure~"

Emilia also flashed a smile "Ruler" she said

"Explain" Lein replied

"Ruler is the only third party in this war…"

"How are you so sure?"

"Even if he or she is not the only third party in this war… It won't change that you considered him to be a threat… a threat bigger than Saber"

"Hmm… is he really a threat though?" he replied

"Considering that you want to finish the fight against the west as fast as possible… I can say that you want to conserve strength and you also want to add some servants of the west to our ranks" she answered

"You're no fun Emi…"

She smiled "hehe, I can read you like an open book, senpai~"

"Yea yea" he surrendered

"I guess I should say thanks"

"I don't know" he replied

"I'm not really lying" he said as he evade his eyes from Emilia's death stare

"So you do have an idea"

Lein sighed "Well to be honest I am not sure"

"So spill it" Emilia replied with a solemn face

"I got it I got it" he sighed again "This is all just a speculation afterall"

So Emilia is really Lein's weakness

"If we were to deduce who the Ruler is…"

"It will be most likely Moses right?" I replied

"He might be but we cannot conclude that it is him"

"Because history is twisted on its own" Emilia added

"Can't deny that one"

"If he is Moses then I guess he won't become our enemy… No to be exact, if he is really a Ruler then he is not our enemy"

What Lein said confused both me and Emilia… What does he mean by… really a Ruler?
