Chapter 7

Kai was done with his call and he walked into his room only to see a drunk Gwen.

"Mr. Leone, I'm not late am I? I'm early. I didn't make you late for your shoot today." Gwen said and sat on the floor of his room.

"I hate Erik. Mr. Leone, I don't know what I would've done without you that day. I was just building up walls Erik made me build up. The doctor even said I have an eating disorder because Erik called me fat. I took a lot of alcohol to feel better but it just made everything worse" Gwen said before sobbing.

Kai moved closer and patted her back.

Gwen put her arms around Kai's shoulder and Kai lifted her off the floor and she fell asleep.

Kai put her on his bed and she slept peacefully.

Gwen woke up the next day with a banging headache and body aches.

She rubbed her eyes and realized she wasn't in her apartment, then where was she?

She sat up and saw Kai beside her.

She looked under the blankets to make sure she didn't do something stupid.

Phew! Thank goodness I didn't sleep with my boss, she thought.

She tried recalling what happened the previous night but she couldn't remember.

I'm not ready to lose my job. What if I said something stupid? She questioned herself

She got up and took her handbag.

She wanted to sneak out without Kai knowing but her clumsy self wouldn't let her.

As she wanted to get up from bed, she slipped on a pen and landed straight on her but.

"Ouch!" she exclaimed

And it woke Kai up.

"Way to go Gwen. You couldn't just leave quietly, you had to be clumsy' She thought to herself

"Good morning Mr. Leone" Gwen greeted with a fake smile

"Miss Oakwood, can you explain why you were at my house at midnight?" Kai asked

"Ummmmm....." Gwen was short of words

"It's alright, you seemed drunk anyway"Kai said abruptly

"And take today off to clear your head" he added

"Thank you sir" Gwen said smiling

"Gwen stood up and was aboypt to leave when Kai said, "And Miss Oakwood, don't take anything I say out of anger to heart"

"Okay sir" Gwen said leaving his room.

Kai stared at the big ass photo of his father, he wished he could just wipe all the memories he had with his dad.

Kai was the only legitimate son of Mr. Alec Leone.

His father, Alec Leone, was a wealthy man and he always slept around even when he was married to his mother, Mrs. Merida Leone.

His mom went through a lot of misery because of his father.

It hurts to see a man you care about with another woman.

He always brought different somen to the house.

If anyone gets pregnant, he at she would have to abort it.

Kai hated it.

Some of the women stood their ground and even threatened to taint his image and prominence if he didn't take responsibility.

His mother soon enough, died of depression.

Kai moved out of his father's house soon after.

Kai's father was a rich business man in Italy and he ran many illegal businesses.

Alongside that, he was a mafia boss and had taken so many lives.

Kai moved to L.A to start from scratch and he did well hiding his personal affairs from his job and the media.

Kai had never been romantically attached to anyone because relationships aren't things you jump into.

You have to know the person properly and learn to accept their imperfections and he wanted to be far from his father, relationship wise.

Gwen was happy, she got a day off.

She decided to call Emily for a girls' day out.

"Hey Em," Gwen said as the other end picked up

"What are you up to?" Emily asked munching on something

"I was hoping we could hang out today," Gwen said

"I'm always down Gwen.
