43 Great Divine Immortal Sect

At this moment, Kane was pondering what Ji Chen had chosen for him to solve. It was obvious that Ji Chen was quite bad at Conversation. Kane had already seen through most of him. But what confused him the most was his lack of experience!

Kane could predict that Ji Chen's experience at conversation was below a hundred years old! It was absolutely impossible for Ji Chen to be below a hundred years old! The biggest Genius that Kane had ever seen could only get to Profound Realm at around a hundred!

Since Ji Chen had demonstrated a strength that is around the level of Immortals, it didn't make sense how Ji Chen could have experiences below that of an old man!

"Young master, what is your age, you look so young!"

Kane couldn't help but try to smoothen the distance between himself and Ji Chen. Before, he had noticed that Ji Chen's eyebrow had twitched every time he had called him 'Your Majesty.' Since Kane was really a conversation specialist, he could infer that Ji Chen didn't like that term and switched to 'Young master.'

This conversation could've gone smoothly if Ji Chen was an old monster in disguise, but he wasn't. He didn't really like being inferred as being too young either. If he was an old monster, then likely he would open up after being praised, but being too young and being called young made Ji Chen think that Kane was making it sound as if he was immature.

"I'll let you know that I'm many times older than you are!"

Ji Chen spat as he disdainfully looked at Kane. Kane went silent hearing that. He could understand that Ji Chen didn't like being called young, but he didn't know why. Through the multiple theories he had in mind, the one that he believed in most was that Ji Chen was from a very large family that was likely from the higher half of the Heavens, and was constrained from seeing the outside world till he was very old.

"What I meant... Was that the Young master looks very young, yet mature!"

Kane stuttered, not wanting to face the wrath of Ji Chen. Ji Chen didn't even answer back Kane as he walked on towards Marie's Fort.

5 minutes passed just like that. Although both of them were at the level where they could instantly get across to Marie's Fort in seconds, since Ji Chen slowly walked in front, Kane didn't dare to retort.

"Who is inside there, another Immortal?"

Kane was too curious, so he blurted out the instant he saw two forts besides Ji Chen's.

"No."

Ji Chen replied. He stared at Kane as if he was about to explode at him, Kane's heartbeat had skyrocketed. He had already closed his eyes to brace for the impact, but Ji Chen took a deep breath in and calmed down. He pointed at a Fort that was smaller than the other two.

"I messed up."

Ji Chen spoke with a sigh. He tried to make it sound as if he was feeling guilty, but Kane could see through Ji Chen, it was clear that he was hiding something.

"Messed up? How could such a great person like yourself mess up, young master!"

Kane Stammered. He wanted to emphasise the support he had for Ji Chen in his tone.

"Yes."

Ji Chen changed his face to that of someone who was motivated, but his face was too immature for Kane, who clicked his tongue in his mind. Ji Chen then started to appear as if he was remembering something:

"You see, I'm part of the Great Divine Immortal Sect. Although not many know this name, it used to be one of the strongest Sects in the Upper halves of the Heavens!"

Kane really couldn't argue about that. Even with Ji Chen's face, he couldn't confirm whether Ji Chen was telling fibs. He could only go along with Ji Chen. Kane couldn't really doubt Ji Chen either. After all, Immortals were indeed in the upper halves of the Heavens.

"But then... My father had died which made my mother disappear. They were leading the Sect, and now that it has crumbled, it is my duty to resurrect it from the bottom!"

Ji Chen really didn't care that this lie would be exposed quite early. His intention was to make Kane feel guilty for him and an excuse for Kane to help him along with the Marie problem.

Kane put up a face of guilt. He could tell that Ji Chen was hiding something, but what Ji Chen didn't know was that Kane was actually enticed by him even crawling beneath Ji Chen's feet! He could've never expected that the realms really had this big of a difference!

"Now, I've found a girl that has great talent, but she had a bad personality! I tried to recruit her, but she was too arrogant, I trapped her in a room, crippled her cultivation progress. What can I do to bring her under my Great Divine Immortal Sect?"

Ji Chen sighed, trying to look miserable. While Ji Chen was doing that, Kane was assessing the situation. He couldn't help but feel proud that an Immortal had asked for his help! This was an Immortal we are talking about, an Immortal! If he was taken under Ji Chen's wing, he was sure that he would get another body and go beyond even his previous life! Kane couldn't help but get excited.

"Master, I would help..."

Kane was about to give Ji Chen his words, but loud and bold words were heard from the small fort in front of them:

"WHAT USE IS LIFE IF THERE IS NO PRIDE? I WAS BORN WEALTHY, BUT I HAVE STOOPED TO SUCH A LEVEL! I HOPE THAT IN MY AFTERLIFE, I WILL BECOME WHAT I DREAM OF, A DAMN COMMONER!"

It seemed as if the person in the fort was contemplating life.

-From the aura and presence of the one inside that fort, it is likely that they are crippled. Is this what Young master was talking about?

Kane tried to think one step ahead, but before he could, a figure that Ji Chen could make out from afar- Marie, was jumping off from the window of the fort!

"Idiot!"

Ji Chen shouted. Marie had started to spread her arms wide in the air. She had a calm and indifferent face as if she didn't care that she was falling.

Ji Chen had already disappeared from Kane's vision, next appearing near where Marie was in mid-air...
