First Quest

The whole group was walking in a dedicated stance in order to defend themself from unforeseen danger, the group was being led by Samber, Aram and Kiz, while Kiz was supposed to be in the rear he reassured the group that they need him in the front, in the middle were the Mage and healer (non-melee) like Khush and Annie and porters too, Meham and Ariah was at the end of the group as the rear guard.

Khush was appointed as the vanguard if the group, also he is the one who all consider as first option if they want to rely on someone, he is not the smartest of all but rather a peacekeeper.

After a few minutes of walking the forest started to get less dense, they could see visible tracks too which were leading straight

"I am confused shouldn't there be someone to welcome us? " Bekaar questions while getting slightly annoyed,

"Well they did guide us to what to do" Annie replied "maybe they are busy protecting their land or something"

"Or maybe they are all already dead," Samber said in a low pitched voice"

"Yeah, maybe" Kiz replied.

"What do you think?" Ariah whispered to Meham, he was not expecting her to talk to him.

"What?"

"What do you think about this situation, why there's was no one to welcome us?"

Meham was already thinking about that, it took him a few seconds to reply.

"Its obvious they are expecting our arrival, but they don't know who or when someone will come"

"hmm, because of that welcome note?"

"Yes but the condition of that Altar real basis of my reasoning"

"Huh?!, how that empty place gave it away?"

It's Man-made, what other purpose does it serve other than an acting station platform for other worlders, I won't be surprised if we are not the first one to come here"

"..."

'Isn't it normal to see these kinds of places in a fantasy world, but I never thought about the origin of them, as expected of The LogIc GeeK'

"Okay"

Ariah nodded and went into the middle to discuss with the group, while they were discussing they heard a light sound of buzzing.

"It sounds like some " Karim says, "lets check" only Kiz and Aram sneak toward the sound and they found an Old man with two dogs around him, he does not seem hostile suddenly the dogs catch their smell and started barking toward those twos

"Whose there?" he spoke in English

The rest of the group that was just behind them heard the sound and caught up to them,

"Hello Sir! we came from that Altar" Khush explained politely.

The old man with gray rough beard was carrying a two handed axe, he first calmed his dogs down then scope out the whole group

"Welcome to the land of Euphemia he said with a dull expression"

"Sir, can we ask you a few questions please?"Ariah asked

"I don't have time for yur questions, busy here"

Khush went close to him, "How about we help you finish your task, and in return you just have to provide us with the information you have?"

The Woodcutter gave it a thought and stopped his swing.

"Sure, I guess that's justified"

"Okay, so what can we do for you sir?" Annie asked in a polite manner.

"Bring me 300 logs, it's not a big deal for you Emergers" The old man replied while lighting his cigar.

'Here we go, our first quest' Meham laughed to himself.

"What? Are you serious?" Bekaar looked at woodcutter widening her eyes.

"I am not being unreasonable missy, you can probably work more than five of like me."

Meham moved toward the wood cutter and hold his hand in front.

"Can I?" He handed him the axe, he felt the axe to be very light than he expected.

"I have a good feeling about this. " Meham get close to a tree and took a wide swing on it with the axe, it cut off same as if a fruit with a sharp knife, the bark of the tree was not too thick but still it was no normal human can acheive.

"Woahh let me try too" Samber had his own one handed copper axe with wooden shield, he put down the shield and swing the axe with full force, the cut was more clean than Meham's indicating his superior raw power.

Everyone join in as a sense of competition.

"Haaah!" Kiz was also able to cut the tree in one blow, same goes with Bekaar and few other guys, but for Annie, Aram and Khush it took 3 to 5 strikes.

"So its not the same for all of us" Aram seemed little disappointed.

"It seems that, our physical capabilities have amplified from before" Khush said while wiping his sweat.

"Wait you are telling me Bekaar is stronger than me?" Aram looked at her she was grinning as if looking down on him.

"It seems that some one pre decided for us, why are we pre equiped with these gear and weapons?" Ariah looks toward the Wood cutter.

"I don't know why, thats just how you people always shows up"

"So we are not the first one afterall" Ariah looked toward Meham.

But Meham's attention was somewhere else, she went toward him. he was looking into some dense trees in the distance.

"What are you doing?"

"Nothing" Meham replied after a gap, then he go and faced the old man.

"Why there are no Beasts or monsters in this area?" Meham asked him with a straight face.

"They were, some years ago, now they are wiped out thanks to emergers, and that is why we can come here without any worries"

"what about bandits?" The old man was shocked for a moment at this question then replied.

"It's just a deep jungle, what could they rob here kid?" Meham looked at him in his eyes.

"I think we have enough information, we should move now," Meham told everyone with a loud voice.

"Huh?/ what?" the guys cutting woods said in sync, they were confused on what he just said.

"Meham what are you talking about? " Khush faced Meham.

Everyone was looking at him.

'Augh I hate this'

"Dude, is there something wrong?" Aram also asked him.

"We are not alone here, There someone peeking at us from the trees, we can't trust this old man"

"Meham there is no one right now" Ariah looked in the direction Meham pointed, As a marksman, she discovered she has eyesight that can focus even miles far.

"That's because they moved from there"

"Hey, don't you think maybe you are just hallucinating, after all, you do read those Webnovels all the time" Bekaar replied.

"..."

"Maybe." Meham roll his eyes away from Bekaar, he thought if he dragged on the conversation it will only make them hate him more.

"See that's your problem, you always think you are better than all of us here " Bekaar turned away and start walking in the opposite.

"Bekaar!"

"She's not wrong Annie, Meham can't just expect us to follow him if he can't even show any sign of interest in us" Another girl decided to take Bekaar's side.

"You don't have to follow me, just try to think straight." Meham start heading in the direction of the dense trees, Aram followed him.

Everyone remained silent for a moment then Kiz pointed out

"Guys the Old man, he is gone "
