En'Oat. POV.
"You did well during the tournament." Master Adi spoke from beside me. It had been a day since the tournament, and I was still nursing my wounds from Master Cin's fight.
"I lost." She just nodded. We were by the pond, watching the water. It reminded me of Eadu, with what little memories I had. A planet of storms, always raining, you couldn't go three steps without stepping into a puddle.
"You did." She just shrugged. Master Adi was many things, but she was not one to say more than what was needed.
"It was unfair for Master Cin to single me out like that." Silence followed.
After Master Cin had beaten me for the tenth time he finally called the match. I had placed fourth, with Barriss getting first, then Ahsoka, then Tem Tom. My fight with Tem Tom wasn't all that great. I was exhausted and he was still at 100%.
"Yet you still passed."
"I know. I just wish I could have done better."
"An admirable quality, but defeat is sometimes an outcome in life."
Don't get me wrong, I knew I wasn't going to win the tournament. Both Ahsoka and Barriss have beaten me more times than I could count during our spars. It just felt like I went down without swinging.
"Has the Council decided on the Masters of those who passed?"
"We have."
"You're not going to tell me who my master is, are you?" she just smiled slightly. Of course she doesn't.
"Enjoy the tranquility of the pond, Youngling."
"Yes, Master."
A Week Later.
"Master, Plo Koon. I heard you wanted to see me?" I approached the master who was overlooking a hologram of the galaxy. He turned ever slightly to look at me.
"Yes. I do." I walked closer to look at all the planets. "You are to be my padawan." I turned sharply to look at him fully. He just stood there with his arms crossed.
"I am?"
"You are."
"Oh…" He just simply chuckled. "I mean no offence master." I bowed sharply.
"There was never any." He waved his hand and the galaxy went away. He walked to stand in front of me with his hands behind his back. He towered over me. To be fair I still had time to grow into my adulthood, but it still left an impression. Being short sucks. I don't know how Master Yoda does it. "I was previously deployed, on Geonosis. Master Mundi has taken my position in the meantime. I have come to collect you, then we will return."
"Yes Master."
"Come." He turned his back and walked. I followed.
"Master, what would be our responsibilities on Geonosis?" He gave a hum in reply.
"The plan would be to push back the enemy and take the planet. Since the war has started both sides have been struggling to eliminate the other."
"That's not a very solid plan, Master." He stopped and glanced at me.
"Not many are I'm afraid." We kept walking. The Jedi who died on Geonosis, flooded my mind and if I would join them. "Clear your mind Padawan. Our duty is a heavy one, but it is one we must take with focus and clarity. How do you do with your meditations?" I paused for a moment.
"Well Master."
"Hmm. Then you must join me on mine. Perhaps you could teach me a thing or two." He offered in an almost serious tone. The slight raise of his voice told me he was joking.
"Here I thought I was the Padawan." I shot back, he chuckled.
"I will strive to teach you many things. We must hurry. There are some I wish for you to meet." We sped up slightly and continued to get to know each other better. It will be a grand experience.
No one. POV.
Windu and Yoda are sitting in the Council Tower.
"Collected, two padawans are. Tem Tom and Ahsoka are next."
"Are you sure you should be the one to deliver Skywalker's padawan? There are many other Jedi that can do it."
"Do it I will. Help in anyway, I must."
"We are sending a ship to drop off Tem Tom to Master Ti. It will be good for the padawan to learn from her."
"Wise she is. Learn much he will."
"Three council members beginning to train padawans. All in the same clan. It is a rare occurrence."
"Wise Jedi, they will make. Ahsoka as well."
"Yes, if Skywalker is helped by Master Kenobi."
"Underestimate him you do?"
"He has made his own reputation."
"A fine Jedi he has become. See you will."
"As you say Master."
En'Oat. POV.
Master Plo and I arrived at the hangars after walking for a considerable amount of time. We talked; it was mostly me asking him about his past. A 382-year-old Master Jedi had a lot to offer in the question-and-answer category.
"Commander Wolfe." We approached a squad of clones who were standing around a LAAT. Once they heard Master Plo's voice they all snapped into a salute. The one with the scar over his eye responded first.
"General." The scar was over a milky eye. I would have to assume he is blind on his right side. Useful information.
"At ease men. I would like to introduce you to my new padawan. En'Oat." They all put their arms behind them.
"Commander." Wolfe nodded his head towards me.
"Me?" Wolfe just nodded again. "I'm not a commander though."
"All padawans are given the rank commander. Those who serve in the war I mean." Another clone spoke up. He had grey hair that was curled a little at the front.
"And your name trooper?" he saluted.
"Sergeant Sinker, Sir." I nodded and pointed to the next one. This clone still had his helmet on.
"Corporal Comet, Sir." They both dropped the salute and went back into at ease position.
"You don't have to call me commander or sir. I have no experience in the field." Their faces were still strong. I could hear Master Plo hum from beside me.
"It's in our DNA, sir." I couldn't believe it.
