History Lesson Completed.

I woke up after unconsciously falling asleep; I looked around and saw that I was still on the chair.

'Twice?!'

I had fallen asleep unintentionally two times in one day, and I brought out my phone to check the time.

= 8 AM =

'All night?!!' *Sigh*

"James, please come in!"

I said, but it wasn't until a second later I thought to myself,

'How the hell did I know he was there?'

I was naturally sensitive to my surroundings, but James was exceptionally skilled in not being present even if he stood in front of you.

*On the other side of the door*

"How did he??"

James thought to himself as he began thinking of anything that could have made Xavier aware of his presence.

On his hands was Xavier's breakfast, an assortment of fruits, bacon, beans, and the likes of such.

"Your breakfast!"

-------

"Thank you, James! Don't know what I would do without you!"

I said, smiling at him.

"I don't know either. You should go take a bath and go out for a jog, stretch your muscles and joints out a bit!"

He said as he picked up my plate from the dinner he had brought me last night.

"Tell the others to go take a nap; they've been up all night!"

'There it was again!! How did I know they hadn't gone to bed?!'

In my confusion, I happened to look up at James' face and could see a smile on his face.

"It seems you have awakened!"

"Awakened?"

The term was new to me as I sat there confused, unable to bear it any longer, I had to ask,

"What do you mean, 'Awakened'?"

But of course, James being James, he just walked out of the library, leaving me with two words, "Keep reading."

I rushed through my breakfast hastily, devouring it quicker than I had ever taken to finish a meal.

**They dubbed them "Chaos." After training a new set of people to fill in the empty spots, the humans retained the name "Order."

The demons haven't broken through the barrier ever since that dreadful day, but the fact that they hadn't made a move ever since made those on this side of the barrier grow restless in anticipation.

Something to be understood about "Chaos" and "Order" was that they all lived under one roof, within the temple where the gateway resided.

The gateway is said to now exist in a dimension in-between Origin, Edge, Horizon and Plague itself, giving it access to all planes that had life.

The temple had no entry or exit, and one could only be sent there through a spell taught only to those of "Chaos" and "Order."

Over time, Horizon grew as they populated ad grew to a number far above what they started with, each with their territory.

The purebloods were direct descendants of the first Diviners, filled with a god complex and high power outputs.

The mixed-bloods, known as hybrids and lower races of the original breeds, dwarves, gnomes, fairies, and the likes of such, had their uses and specialties; the dwarves were excellent craftsmen capable of crafting weapons of mass carnage.

Gnomes were splendid in crafting and building structures that would typically be deemed impossible.

Fairies could resonate with nature at a high level and are usually used by those they choose to form a blood contract as control limiters, reducing the cost of aether for spells while increasing the efficiency.

This exchange was mutual as the fairies have their short lives lengthened in exchange for the service they provide.

After millenniums of peace and silence from the demon realm, Those from Edge and Horizon then decided to establish an academy to teach the next generation of "Order" and "Chaos."

Of course, this action was in the case of their demise, which would be a dreadful day should it ever become a reality.

Origin and edge would train their group of individuals, with the potential to inherit a position on "Order" and "Chaos."

On the other hand, Horizon would do the same, grooming individuals with the ability to inherit a position as a member of the "Diviners Sanctum" and "Chaos."

Again, this was all in preparation, should their cause ever call to them.

The schools choose who they deem worthy enough to become a student, only open to a select few worldwide.

All those who have come out of the school are at the pinnacle of power and influence, with only a few being outside this norm.

Legend has it that the Diviners are resting somewhere outside of the stream of time, and they would reappear should the seal on the demon realm completely break. **

Finishing a section of the book, I stretched "The History of the 3 Realms" it had as its header.

I had received a letter from both schools; one was from "Angels Edge" and the other from "Horizon academy!"

'How was I going to go about it??' I thought to myself like this in itself was going to be a difficult task on its own.

I brought out both letters that had been in my jacket pocket the entire time, placing them on the table and speed-reading through their contents.

They contained the same information, other than the name of the respective academies, of course.

*Knock Knock*

An answer to my questions had arrived.

"Yes!"

"There is a letter for you, master Xavier!"

'A letter?!'

"Come in!"

James walked over to the table, and as he was about to say something, he instantly froze and said,

"Both?!"

His voice had a hit of confusion and worry.

"You know what this means??"

I eagerly asked James seeing as he knew something I did not.

"Yes, I do… those who are chosen by both are usually a prime candidate for one of the four tables."

"Four tables?"

I asked in confusion; was there a part I skipped in the book.

"Yes, 'Hall of the Abyss,' 'Diviners Sanctum,' 'Order,' and 'Chaos.' Horizon and Edge chose the only person I heard of that for both; this was your father."

Hearing that it was father, my ears perked up as I grew fully awake. James seeing this continued with his explanation

"Yes, the only person from the edge that was chosen by both that we knew was your father… however, he declined!"

'Declined?'

"Why?"

Fathers actions were beyond ordinary reasoning at times; it was easier to explain his choices than to try understanding them.

"He felt it was not where he was meant to be… that aside, it is said that Horizon can choose a person from the edge and Horizon but, the same does not apply for the other way."

He paused, taking a seat.

"Horizon can choose a student from the side of Edge, but Edge cannot take a student in from horizon as a magical race in the presence of ordinary human beings is like placing a wolf amid sheep.

'A ticking time bomb was waiting for something to set it off.

This choice is of course due to the fact that the supernatural being would have a superiority complex that would guide their every action until the finally blow.

For this single reason, and of course the fact that those of horizon have superior strength and senses, they developed this rule.

'To keep the balance', they said."
