Bardock's last message

Raditz looked at the arguing saiyans and sighed with mixed emotions. The precursor to this event gave the greatest hope and also light the fuse to the current situation.

This fight was started all due to him.

But before that let's see how the events proceeded in this 3 years as it was critical in understanding the current predicament.

3 years since they had decided to become space 'pirates' they had met with a lot of resistance from freeza force.

Some of the greatest challenges they encountered was from Freeza's right hand Zarbon 2 years ago.

He could still remember being stabbed by that transformed freaking ugly Zarbon.

They all had been caught unaware by him and he had used the chance to get rid off what he thought to be the weakest to lower their morale.

Unfortunately for him he picked the wrong target as he survived the attack even though barely and passed out right after.

He had surpassed Nappa after consuming some of the resources looted by them in the past and boosted his power level to 6000 at that time.

Nappa too got his battle power to increase but only to 5000.

As he was told later on by Nappa he was swiftly rescued by Alex who put a bean in his mouth and saved his life.

He then avenged him by beating the hell out of Zarbon but just as Zarbon was about to die he confessed that he knew a great secret which he would only reveal if they let him go.

Vegeta stopped Alex and heard the testimony given by Zarbon that Freeza too could transform and had more forms than him.

Coupled with his earlier admission that the destruction of planet Vegeta was caused by Freeza everyone's feelings plummeted down the depths of despair.

Zarbon took opportunity of the gap created when no one paid much attention to him to send the power levels recorded by his scouter back to freeza.

He taunted the standing fighters that it was not too late to surrender and that he would beg his master to have mercy upon them in an attempt to sow discord among the saiyans.

In a series of events that shocked Zarbon, Vegeta began to brutally play with his defeated opponent before he finally killed Zarbon by blasting him to smithereens.

After that event the group had gone to many planets in their seemingly futile search of saiyans but fate seemed to have played a joke on freeza. They found a inscription on a wall on one of the planets left by his father Bardock recounting his adventures of the time he used to work as a soldier for Freeza.

It said that he had acquired a future predicting power from the last alien of a planet he and his team had killed to the last man who cursed him to know the demise of his own species just as he had known theirs.

It was due to that power that he knew they would be coming to that planet and that Raditz and the other saiyans would be the one to stumble upon his last

inscription on the wall.

Initially Vegeta and the others had been sceptical of the message and concluded that it must be a ploy of freeza to get rid of them.

Until the message mentioned in brief of his recent encounter of Zarbon that they began to wholeheartedly believe it.

Vegeta however frowned and berated Raditz by telling him that his father was a fool and should have informed his father so that they could have made an evacuation.

Alex once again came to his rescue by pointing out that a part of the inscription did in fact address the particular issue.

That part of the inscription stated that the future could not be changed for the saiyans as freeza had bugged their scouters and a mass evacuation would be impossible.

It further stated that he however had sent his youngest son Kakarot and a bunch of female saiyans to Earth to ensure the survival of his race.

He further advised them to remain in harmony with the natives of the planet as he did not want them to repeat the same mistakes that his generation of saiyans make.

So this was the situation from Raditz perspective. The following narative will be from a general perspective:-

"All of you have read the inscription as the king I have made the decision that ....."

Alex was about to continue his statement when Vegeta stopped him with a snort

"Hmph! Did you not hear that old man saying that he sent Raditz little brother along with the rest of the saiyans to that mud ball of a planet. Technically you aren't the king as you didn't defeat me in front of all the saiyans."

"What do you mean to say? I still defeated you so you still don't have the qualifications either."

Vegeta growled in anger at being reminded of his only shame in life but none the less gritted his teeth and spoke, " We will compete in the highest martial arts tournament of that planet one that's news would reach all the saiyans that tournaments winner would be the king."

Alex who had long predicted Vegeta's train of thought quickly added his own conditions

"Each of us saiyans would have the right to participate in that tournament to compete for the king's position and to prevent the winner to be just a fluke. The winner would have to gain the largest amount of prize available from the tournament and the ranking order would decide the hierarchy of the saiyans. Also the subordinates you take in who win place in the tournament should also count to that saiyans victory."

"Any other conditions before you lose all your authority."

Vegeta smirked in disdain as he held his hands.

To him he had already surpassed Alex by a stretch and this tournament was to provide a huge opportunity to wash away his shame and take back his birthright.

He wasn't wrong in thinking so as Alex had always left the problematic foes for him to handle during their time together.

Even though he intended for them to get zenkai his actions had indeed been a stain on his image.

"If you do not kill unless provoked then I'll be willing to acknowledge your results in the tournament."

"You don't have the time to worry about me killing any of the Earthlings I'd rather spend more time training so that I can completely crush you."

" But the way don't think I didn't notice your little trick there. You obviously hope to include Nappa,Raditz and your results to compete against me. But I think Nappa and Raditz would have better estimate of who to ally themselves to by now."

The two turned to look at their other two companions who looked visibly nervous by this point.

Nappa turned his head towards the two potential kings while gritting his teeth before choosing Vegeta.

The victorious Vegeta playfully turned his head towards Raditz and saw him making a serious face.

Who would he choose?

What a joke! Did it even need to be said?

Of course it was Alex he believed that with Alex's strength he would be able to snatch the second place while he would grab the third thus resulting in situation where the other humans recruited as their subordinates would decide the final result.

Even if there wasn't the possibility of Alex's winning the tournament this new Raditz would have fought to the death with him.

" I will participate as Alex's subordinate."

"No! Raditz you are my friend and ally not my subordinate. Our scores would be calculated distinctly."

Raditz and Nappa were both suprised but there was someone who even more suprised Vegeta who had thought that he had uncovered all of Alex's plans.

To say that this incident had thrown him off balance would not be an understatement.

After they had confirmed Alex's decisions the saiyans took their pods to attack freeza Base planet and after pillaging took a spaceship and set the coordinates to Earth.

As for their original spaceship that was just a distraction to render the planet offguard.

All valuables that could be consumed had been consumed and the remaining bit of jewellery,antiques had no importance to them and hence were kept as a decoy.

As for what happened to Ginyu force they successfully manged to shortlist the planets that the saiyan survivors might have escaped to and sent them to Freeza for further instructions as that area apparently was filled with low tier planets.

When Freeza came to know he merely presumed that the saiyans had finally gotten afraid of Captain Ginyu's power level and thus had escaped to the low level planets.

Too bad for them cause he had enough of them!

He asked Captain Ginyu to confirm the planet without tipping them off and finish them off.

He had also given Ginyu permission to some weak soldiers to scout out all the possible planets.

He even gave him the time period of 15 years to report back the information after which he would personally take action to remove all pests after torturing them for their misdeeds.

As for why the 15 years time limit he all too knew that those saiyans were tenacious and didn't want any of the fish to slip out of the bag or perhaps in this case monkeys out of the forest.
