Cyrus The Hero

           Chapter 7

                   ....

What would have taken days only took hours thanks to Cyrus. Thanks to Ryan's men a lot of people died.

568 innocent  lives were taken that day. After gathering all the dead bodies Cyrus was ready. He knew what his next move was.

Cyrus turned to the chief. "I really must be going now."

"Where  are you going?" The chief asked

"Texas." He replied.

"Why go to Tex-" The woman known as Beca  by her subordinates and those close to her widened her eyes.

"Are you crazy boy? The Draco HQ in  Texas holds over 5,000 men!"

"5,700." Cyrus said.

"If you knew that, then why-"

"Because they have to be stopped! If I dont do it then who will? If I do nothing  the bodies will continue to pile up."

Beca knew there was no arguing with the boy, she knew how strong he was, saw it for herself in fact.

"Dont worry." Cyrus said. "I'll be fine."

"I know." She said. "But your a little too young to shoulder the world on you shoulders."

Cyrus gained a dark look in his eyes. "Maybe, but I'm the only one who can do it." The Dragon  prince  allowed  his wings to come to life from behind before hovering in the air.

Beca sighed. "Very well. If you ever need our help dont hesitate to ask, whether its information or otherwise."

He nodded before flying away. Beca watched him break the sound barrier, his speed increasing

She whistled. The kid was impressive. She could only wonder how powerful the boy would become in the future.

                     ....

Cyrus knew his chance of survival was slim at best, don't get him wrong he had faith in his abilities but there was only so much he could do. He couldn't take out over 5,000 men on his own..

'Maybe I should just take a breather. No point in rushing in and getting myself killed.' He thought with a frown. 'Maybe I could gather some Allies to help. I know of a few Dragons I could contact.'

Cyrus landed on the ground below and pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Chris I need your help."

"What do you need your highness?"

"I just took out Ryan and some of the men under him. I don't know where Draco's HQ is but I do know it's in Texas."

It was a known fact through the world that Draco had Headquarters in Texas somewhere.

"Very good sir. I'll gather the clan, regarding the location of their HQ I know where that's at."

"You do?"

"Yeah me and a few dragons scouted it out about a month ago. It's in the Houston Airport. I'm sure your aware of how heavily guarded it is over there."

"I am."

"You said you just went through a battle with Ryan? I think you should get some rest. I know you must be tired after a battle like that."

"Yeah. Your right."

"I'll be in touch your highness."

When the line went dead Cyrus let his arm fall to his side. After a moment or two he shoved the phone into his pocket. 'Guess I'll get some rest.' He thought before yawning. 'I am pretty tired.'

Cyrus decided to rest in one of North Carolina's Forests, after building a campfire the young Dragon got some much needed rest.

….

Over the next several days Cyrus spent his time recovering from his battle with Ryan. The Dragon Prince somehow found time to train as well. Chris kept him updated these past few days and according to him he had gathered over 1,000 Clansmen who were eager to take out some Fire Dragon Scum.

Cyrus had just finished firing a volley of Lightning blasts that were shaped as small orbs, these small orbs could do a lot of damage if they connected with its intended target and it did connect. The trees and the surrounding area had holes all around it. However his training was interrupted as his phone began to vibrate in his pocket as the ringtone went off.

The young Dragon reached inside his pocket and answer the phone causing the ringtone to end.

"Your Highness, it's time."

"I'll meet you just outside the Airport."

"I'll see you there."

When the line went dead Cyrus placed the phone in his pocket again and he allowed his wings to come to life behind his back and he flew into the sky becoming a blur as he flew to his destination; Houston Texas; Draco HQ. Cyrus would get there pretty fast being a Dragon and all. Usually an airplane would take about two hours to get from North Carolina to Houston Texas but with him flying he would be there in at least an hour. The only problem was he'd probably be exhausted by the time he got to his destination but he had to do this. If he didn't stop Draco then the world would never know peace.

…..

A little after an hour passed by and Cyrus was landing on the ground. He looked around and in the distance he saw a tower. Draco's Texas HQ.

"Alex." Came a deep voice to his right. Turning around he came face to face with Chris. He was a Dragon with scruffy brown hair and bright blue eyes. He was one of Theo's many students he had acquired cover the years.

"Chris…where's the Clan?"

"Oh they'll be here." Chris said. "I've heard all about you and how you defeated Ryan. That's pretty impressive. Not only that you took out 300 Dragons all by yourself! Theo would be so proud."

Cyrus looked a bit surprised. "You know about Ryan?"

"Yeah. It was on the news." Chris replied. "I'm sorry about Theo Cyrus. I wish I could've been there for you."

Cyrus gave him a friendly smile. "Don't worry about it. How could you of known? It's not your fault, Chris."

The older Dragon nods. "Reinforcements will probably be here sometime tomorrow. That's when we'll make our move."

It remained quiet for the next few minutes until Cyrus spoke. "Whose gonna lead us into battle? Wait does the Clan even have a leader? I know Theo lead our Clan for the longest time."

Chris frowns. "After Theo's death we haven't really had a leader."

"I see."

"You could lead us, your majesty."

Cyrus looked at him as if he grew a second head. "Do you really think I'm ready to lead the Clan? I have no experience. I've never led anyone into battle before."

"Maybe not but your the strongest member in the Clan, of course that alone doesn't make a great leader but you do have all the qualities of a great leader and you are your fathers son. Each and every one of us would gladly join you in battle and if you ever need help leading I'll help you."

Cyrus didn't know what to think. While it was true that he had taken out a good portion of the enemy he was only 13 years old, he was barely a teenager and he was expected to lead? He would do anything to protect the world from evil Dragons, he'd even lead the Clan in battle but he really didn't think he was ready.

"Ok. I'll lead the Clan but I really think I'm not ready for this yet."

Chris smiled. "Don't worry, you will be."
