The Monster in the Night (1) (NEW!)

I decided to rest on the top of the tree and shouldn't get down no matter what in the night. It would be a disaster if I tried to do that.

In the night, there would be monsters that would have twice their strength or even more. If it was a single monster, I could manage but if they appeared in a group like the boars, it would spell doom for me.

"I would rest here for the night and start the hunt back in the morning. I should also find a way to return to the village in the morning", I decided.

Though it was the best option that was available for me at the moment, I came to know that it was not a good option later in the night.

Guer! Guer!

I was jolted awake by the roars of a monster nearby. It scared the shit out of me.

There I was minding my own business, and the monster came by for a visit. It looks like my luck today is especially not good.

First, the boars that appeared as a group, then the river crocodiles that chased me for a long time and now a new monster that seems to have found me.

This is why it is not recommended to stay the nights in the forest.

Even when I heard the roars of the monster I didn't get down from the tree, hoping that the monster didn't sense me and would pass by. I hoped for the best outcome but I knew that would not always be the case, so I unsheathed my sword and was ready to cast the spells.

I didn't cast the spells before it came because some monsters are sensitive to mana flow. When a spell is cast, the mana flows in a certain manner, different to the flow of natural mana in the surroundings and some monsters can easily detect the differences.

It would be either due to skills or higher perception (PER), which is one of the hidden attributes that can only become visible after fulfilling certain conditions.

Though it may appear similar, the unlocking conditions of hidden attributes for each person vary. There are many situations one has to go through and conditions to fulfil.

It doesn't matter to me what this monster has. My only hope is that it would pass and I don't need to engage it.

Yes, my attributes have grown but I have yet to gain perfect control over my body.

This is not a video game where once the attributes increase, everything will follow suit in a perfect manner. No, we not only had to increase the attributes but also practice to get the flow of the body perfectly.

Even though my body attributes are higher, except for MP, I can't use everything properly.

Normally for a common-grade class holder, it won't be a problem. As they would only see an increase in attributes by one, they would adjust faster than other grades.

As the grade increases, it would be tougher to get proper control over the body.

This is why there are training grounds and meditation techniques that would help gain control over the body. I should have prepared properly. If only I had done that, then dealing with the group of boars would have been as easy as a cake.

I would have been resting in the village and not about to face a monster in the middle of the night.

Damn it, it is a full moon. Hope it isn't a monster that depends on Moon Energy. These are special monsters.

Usually, monsters would have a maximum of double their original attributes at midnight but the ones that depend on the moon would have triple attributes during a full moon.

If one comes across something like that, there is only one thing they can do, well two things, Run or Die. There is no other choice for them.

BOOM! BOOM!

What is going on?

Why does it look like there is fighting near here?

Geur! Geur!

Howl! Howl!

Oh shit!

Why is my luck like this today?

Did my luck take a dive into a pit?

What are two Field Bosses doing here?

Why am I facing monsters like this?

They are far from any norms that I read in the books. Something feels very weird with the situation I am in right now.

A MOON WOLF and a DREAD MANTICORE, two of the most dangerous of field bosses that lurk near starting villages. Even coming to face with one of them would be considered rare but here they are at the same time near a starting village.

Why was it never mentioned before?

I thought that rich brat and his fool of followers would have been on things like this.

What happened to make two Bosses show up at the same time near a starting village?

It is not my problem. I have much bigger concerns here.

The biggest concern here is the Moon Wolf Boss. As the name suggests, would have increased attributes during a full moon reaching triple its original attributes.

Moreover, it is a FIELD BOSS, which would have higher attributes when compared to a monster of the same level.

For example, a level 10 monster has 20 STR, the field boss which is the same level as it would have 30 STR, a 50% increase in attributes and this was before adding night and full moon to the equation.

It is almost comparable to a Mythic or Ancient class holder and unlike us, the monsters had a lot of practice over the years to get used to the sudden increase of strength in nights.

Though the trial lands are like a simulation, they simulate as per what happens in the real world. So these monsters have perfect control over their increased attributes which puts them at an advantage while fighting awakeners.

Usually, it takes a group of awakeners to even take them down and it wouldn't be easy.

I am here alone. The outcome is decided. I AM F.....
