The Boars Hunt (1) (NEW!)

Well, this is not what I expected when I went to hunt in the morning.

Many awakeners hunt in the night and return to the village, late in the night. They do so to earn experience faster and get better rewards. It was for this reason, that I chose to hunt early in the morning when it is less likely to run into others and return early evening when there are more awakeners hunting, making it almost impossible to hunt properly.

I thought it would be best if I was able to hunt when no one was around. It could save me the time I had to wait for the respawn. With no one else, I could complete my hunts faster.

I only understood how wrong I am now.

Unlike the day before, I took a different route. I had already fulfilled some of the quests and there was no need to hunt those monsters. So I took a different region to hunt.

I would get the EXP but it would be a waste of time.

Here in Trial Lands, there are a lot of differences compared to the outside.

With how one was able to cross level 10 on the second day in the previous year, one may think that gaining experience is easy but it is not.

First of all, until Level 10, everyone would get EXP at a greater rate but after that, it would decrease to the normal rate.

Second, hunting the same type of monsters over and over again would not net any EXP. In fact, after a point, there would be no EXP gain. This was implemented so that awakeners would learn how to fight different kinds of monsters instead of using weak monsters to gain levels.

Third, once we get to towns and cities, there would be too many awakeners. It would be quite difficult to even get monsters. Everyone has to wait for the respawns, wasting time over and over again.

Fourth, if there was someone with a background appears, then it would be a disaster for the awakeners in the region. Unlike villages and towns, the regions around cities would have High-level monsters, which give good items when killed.

So these guys would occupy those areas, barring anyone from entering. This hinders the growth of the awakeners a lot. Only a few get to level up faster. Unless those idiots get their hands on items like land deeds or something, they would stay for the entire year.

The ones that weren't part of their group had to hunt Mid-level and Low-level monsters, which would stop giving them EXP after a while. To proceed they had to move on to the Ascender Lands or waste their time here hoping that the dickheads would leave sooner than later.

Anyway, my point was that hunting the same monsters here in Trial Lands is a waste of time, unlike what we can do normally.

So, I started my hunt in a different area and it is something I can never forget in my life.

---

In the beginning, it went well. This changed when I first spotted a boar. This is exactly what I waiting for.

I knew I made some mistakes yesterday when I didn't buy any stamina restoration or mana restoration potions. Due to that, I had to return to the village earlier than I thought to stay and hunt.

Today though, I brought stamina potions that would restore our stamina. When my body felt tired, I had to consume a potion, which would rejuvenate the body. Mana potions work the same. When Mana points are low, one can consume the potions to temporarily increase the mana recovery rate.

The potions are not instant working like in games. It would take time and it depends on the grade of the potions and also the person who consumes them.

Though potions are useful to recover Mana, Stamina and Health, they are a bit harmful to the body. The side effects would be a problem if the potions are of Legendary Grade or above but no one in the human race is capable of that yet.

The only ones are the races that migrated here and they are very costly. It's not like they are ripping us out. The materials used for them are very very rare and none can be found on Athos for now.

These materials are only found in Ascended Lands. Also even they have not many ascended that can craft legendary items. It is not easy. So the huge cost price.

Of course, some potions could mitigate the side effects but that too is not easy to obtain. For now, though it was not of a concern to me. It is a problem I have to deal with in the future but with my double loot, I am sure that I can overcome the issues with cost and would be able to buy in the future.

I brought 10 potions of mana recovery and 10 potions of stamina recovery. Added to that with how my attire was torn in the two days, I decided to change them. Well, there was another reason for that. These are normal clothes which won't be of any use during the hunt.

I bought a vest, leggings, gloves and boots made of snakeskin leather. It was an entire set, except for the protection for the head, so I can't say it is an entire set.

Snakeskin Hunter Set: Vest, Leggings, Gloves, Boots.

Grade: Common

Defence: +20 (+5 for each)

There was a reason why I chose this is because I lack coins to buy better armour. I mean, it was a well-known fact that in Trial Lands one could get armor or weapons for defeating monsters. This was how it should have been but for some reason, I didn't get a single armour or weapon.

Anyway, I can't do anything about that. As I get more coins, it will be sufficient enough for me.

Since I had stocked enough potions in my inventory, I planned to use a potion for stamina and another for mana before trying to attack the boar. I decided to take it by surprise, which could give a decent HP loss for the boar as it wouldn't be prepared for the attack.

Only later did I learn that it was a stupid thing to do. I should have postponed the attack after surveying my surroundings. So stupid.
