Unwelcoming Return (4)

As I looked up, the Voidwalker lowered me to the ground and set me free.

"Ah, it looks like Leo's here, did you follow me down here? You and your body language skills, I can't help but admire you sometimes. Still, to come back just to help Sora, how noble of you." The Voidwalker smiled

"Sora, are you okay?" Leo asked, concerned.

"Yeah, he was just choking me, I'm fine." I coughed.

"That's good." Leo said, taking a sigh of relief.

"So, we meet again, Leo." The Voidwalker sneered.

"Why are you doing this? What do you gain from killing us all?" Leo questioned.

"Killing you is something I have to do in order to ensure that my plan comes to fruition. Kill you and the brat, so that I may awaken the Oblivion Crystal fully and all shall be under my foot." He grinned.

Leo took a fighting stance, he was wearing his blue jacket, with black pants.

"Leo, do you want to die the same way that I killed your father and your sister, I can make that reality come true if you wish for that to happen!" He laughed.

Leo stood frozen in place, not knowing whether to run or to just stand there.

"I know your secret Leo, you're afraid of dying by my hand, because if you are afraid, so are the rest of the ones in this room!"

Leo shouted, "YOUR BRAND OF JUSTICE SHALL NEVER COME TO FRUITION! I WILL STOP YOU! SORA AND I WILL STOP YOU!"

The Voidwalker laughed, "Oh so the boy's finally coming to me then?"

Leo charged at the Voidwalker, all three of them moved and dodged Leo's fist in no time.

"Huh? Where did he go?" Leo said, looking around.

"LEO!! BEHIND YOU! RUN!!" Sora yelled.

Leo was too late as he looked behind him and the Voidwalker made a fist, but Leo acted fast and moved out of the way.

"What are you going to do now? I'm going to show you what I learned in prison, and it's called, escaping!" Leo lunged forward and punched The Voidwalker, who managed to block the punch.

"I'll use everything that I have on you before it gets worse-" Leo was cut off by a man in the hallway to our left walking towards us.

As he came closer we realized it was Reagan, he most likely tracked our mana which led him here.

"Terra Blast." Reagan fired a shot at the Voidwalker and The Voidwalker caught the attack, sending it directly to my chest I felt an immense amount of pain and my consciousness began fading, barely able to hear the words that The Voidwalker and Reagan uttered.

"Hello Voidwalker. It's been awhile."

"Reagan. How's life as a teacher at Ryder's school treating you?"

"You know very well I'm not here as a teacher, I'm here as an asset." Reagan explained.

"An Asset?! Of course you would say that since you've been siding with these fools ever since I was child. So tell me, what brings you down here? To battle me?" The Voidwalker asked, grinning.

"No, not quite. I'm here because I know what you have in mind. But don't you see? That Crystal can only be awakened through the death of someone the child cares about. So, if you were to, oh, I don't know, maybe, kill Leo in front of Sora, would that awaken your precious Crystal? I think so."

"Bingo. Now would you step aside and let me kill Leo?" He asked politely.

Reagan chuckled, his eyes began to glimmer with determination as he stepped in front of Leo. "I'm afraid I cannot let you do that. Leo is precious to Sora and if he were to die, then you would die as well."

The Voidwalker had a scowl on his face. "So... the teachers here protect this place so much, you even have the magic to back up what you say. Reagan."

"Likewise, Voidwalker. Your power is great as well. However, unlike your power, mine comes from the light. Yours, on the other hand, comes from the dark. One could say our powers are polar opposites. In my case, the difference is key. Leo is a great and powerful student who has trained day in and day out. Whether he likes it or not."

"Very well. Let us start our battle. We shall see who prevails, my powers or the light inside your heart. Show me what you've got!"

"Right! Now let me show you the path of righteousness in the name of justice!"

Both of them rushed at one another, their fists clashing over and over again, neither backing down.

Eventually the Voidwalker was gaining the upper hand as he started to move much faster than Reagan could keep up.

As they got into a heated exchange, the Voidwalker broke through Reagan's defense, knocking him back and right into a wall.

"DIE DEMON!" The Voidwalker exclaimed.

Reagan recovered quickly and tried to pull off a counter, but the Voidwalker saw through it and hit him back, knocking him against the wall once again.

"REAGAN!" Leo screamed.

"Leo... son... run away..." Reagan said weakly.

"But what about you-" Leo was cut off by the Voidwalker lunging at him and striking him in the face, throwing him across the room and onto the floor.

"Leo! Are you alright?" The Voidwalker chuckled.

"I'M FINE!" Leo screamed, getting up off the ground, facing The Voidwalker.

"LEO, JUST GO! PLEASE!" Reagan shouted, struggling to get up.

"Mr. Reagan, I'm not leaving you here! I'M GOING TO PUT A FUCKIN' END TO THIS!"

"Foolish child. Perhaps you want me to turn up the heat? No matter, it's the same thing no matter who I kill. My powers are without limits." The Voidwalker grinned as a portal beneath Leo opened, revealing a path that will lead him to nowhere.

Leo jumped out of the portal and landed on the floor.

"How pathetic. You have truly fallen far from grace. Once you were an honorable soldier of the Xuidian Kingdom, now look at you. You're just a joke of a being."

"SHUT UP. LEAVE MR. REAGAN OUT OF THIS AND FIGHT ME YOU COWARD!" Leo screamed, fuming with anger.

The Voidwalker sighed, shaking his head. "You are a stubborn child, but no matter, there's no stopping me from getting what I want. Now, I want to try something with you Leo, I'm sure it'll be a lot of fun, it'll also help you with training Sora later. What do you say?"

"Screw your games!"

Leo charged at the Voidwalker, The Voidwalker smirked and smacked him away.

The Voidwalker turned towards Reagan and chuckled. "What a disappointing fight you put up Reagan. Was I really expecting more from one of the commanders of a broken kingdom? I suppose I did. It was a pleasure fighting you." He said, walking over to Reagan.

"Now, I shall take my prize." The Voidwalker whispered in Reagan's ear as he grabbed a sword out of his sheath and swung it at his neck.

The blade made contact, leaving a gash in his neck, a gush of blood was let out onto the ground as Leo and I were frozen in fear, the stench of his blood had filled our nostrils and made it hard to concentrate.

"So, Leo, what are you going to do now?"

Leo couldn't respond, we knew deep down inside what he had to do, and that was nothing. His throat closed up as his body began to tremor, his entire frame shook uncontrollably, unable to stop himself from moving he looked at the Voidwalker in shock, his expression changed to pure horror at what the outcome of this was going to be.

His screams filled the room, the Voidwalker cackled wildly, his eyes shone brightly, gleaming silver.

"Be thankful you are still alive! Keep your friends alive as well! All the people you have met and enjoyed were killed before your very eyes! Well, not entirely, they will live long enough for this dream to come true! Oh yes, their suffering shall bring me joy, such sweet satisfaction... we shall proceed onward to our next target!" This man was insane.

With every ounce of strength that Reagan had left he stood up and faced The Voidwalker once more. "I think it's time I release the seal on myself, I'm sorry Headmaster Williams."

"This should be interesting!"

Reagan's body began to glow with a white aura, but it had a crimson tint to it that was so powerful and noticeable that anyone could see it.

"This ends here and now, Voidwalker!" Reagan shouted.

"Don't even try it Reagan! There's no stopping me now! The power I have is limitless, and you cannot challenge my will! But if you insist, let's end this! We fight to the death! Or, are you afraid to die, you piece of shit?" The Voidwalker taunted.

Reagan's eyes began to twitch, and then a wave of red energy washed over him and flew towards the Voidwalker. The Voidwalker swiftly disappeared as the shockwave passed where he was, reappearing behind Reagan, looking amused.

"What a disappointment." The Voidwalker chuckled.

"Your power is tremendous, but it is still no match for my will.

Reagan stared at The Voidwalker as he started forming a powerful sphere of crimson energy in his palm, he was using blood magic in order to defeat The Voidwalker.

'It's unfortunate you had to meet me here, Voidwalker. I won't let your plan succeed, your era has ended, and a new age has begun!'

"Yes... 'New Age.' That's right. I don't believe in this 'God' as humans have referred to us. I see him as a false deity created by those who came before me. This crystal will allow me to bring that being back! And I'll kill him!" The Voidwalker declared.

'YOU ARE A MONSTER, VOIDWALKER. NO MATTER WHAT THE ORIGINS OF THIS CRYSTAL ARE, WE SHALL NOT ALLOW YOU TO USE IT. YOUR VERY EXISTENCE IS A FILTHY DISGRACE.'

"HA. I've always found your sense of humor amusing, Reagan. Unfortunately, now is not the time. Today, you will all DIE!" The Voidwalker erupted into maniacal laughter.

"Your use here is over. It's time you knew your place."
