Unwelcoming Return (Finale)

"Blood Pact: Condensed Blood Beam." A beam of condensed blood pierced The Voidwalker's shoulder as he was able to dodge out of the way before it hit his heart.

"Hmph. You're a cheap shot, Reagan. But I can handle this."

"Blood Pact: Blood Whip." Reagan said, creating a whip made from his blood.

Reagan lashed The Voidwalker's chest as he tried to block the attack, however the attack was too powerful and knocked him back.

"Impressive, this whip is stronger than I expected."

"Now it's your turn, Voidwalker!"

"Enough talk, let's get down to it!"

A beam of blood shot from the Voidwalker's hand and impaled Reagan's abdomen.

"Is that the best you can do?"

"Heh, I've only just begun."

"Oh yeah? Try this then!"

The Voidwalker blasted a ball of mana which was absorbed by Reagan's blade.

"Thanks for the contribution."

"ARGH! Don't think you'll ever get the chance again, REAGAN!"

The Voidwalker shot another beam of mana at him, causing him to groan in pain, but it wasn't enough to injure him.

"Let's wrap this up, Sora still needs to start his rehab, Blood Pact: Necrotic Infusion." A giant blast sent everything in the room that was behind The Voidwalker into dust, including him. That was the end of The Voidwalker's life, he was reduced to nothing, not even ashes.

I limped over to Reagan and Leo, happy for them, however, I realized something during this fight. For the first time in a while, I was useless. I did nothing to contribute to the team, and I failed my teacher, the one man I looked up to. Now I've let Leo down as well. How could I have failed him? If I had done something, I could have prevented him from getting hurt.

'As it stands now, I'm as much of a liability to him as an asset. The Voidwalker was right when he said it, I'm not fit to be the student of a legendary hero, but I'll be damned if I give up now. He's showing the rest of the world his name, and I'll do the same! I'll show everyone that I'm worthy of his mentorship. From today on, I'll devote myself to my studies, become stronger, and train day and night so that this never happens again. He will no longer have reason to worry about his life, and I'll come to his rescue. I will always be there for him. Until the day I die.'

1 Week Later...

I was lying on the floor of the gym in the arena area, watching the others sparring with one another, it had been a week since I left the mysterious basement of the school. My injuries were healing well, and I had to wear a cast for a few days, which made movement extremely difficult for me.

I was staring off into space, lost in thought. 'I can't shake what the Voidwalker told me about the Crystal. It keeps playing through my head over and over again.' A sigh escaped my lips, I was extremely frustrated.

"Hey, Sora? What's wrong? Are you all right? You have a look on your face as if you're trying to solve a complicated riddle or puzzle."

I wasn't paying much attention to Remi, my mind was on the crystals. "Huh? Oh, it's nothing. I guess I'm just worried about everything that's been going on lately, with the Voidwalker and his return."

"Come on, out with it, tell me what's wrong?"

Sighing, I had no choice but to admit it to her, she was always good at getting information out of people, even Leo, though she could be very persistent at times. "If I tell you, you can't tell anyone else. I don't want to bring back some bad memories, especially to Leo."

"You're worrying me. This must be serious if you're bringing up Leo's name. Now out with it, I'm a big girl, I can handle the truth."

"All right." I took a deep breath as I remembered what The Voidwalker had told me. "It's just... the Voidwalker... He told me something after our fight, I think he was messing with my head or maybe he was making stuff up in the heat of battle."

"It's okay. He's dead now. If he said anything that I find questionable, I'll use that to justify what I have to do now."

"Wait! You can't do that." I stopped her from doing anything rash. "He's not worth it. It's not like he can hurt us now."

She tried to stay positive, but I knew she was hurting, she could only watch the person she cared for get injured, unable to help, and I understand that. She hated feeling helpless, that she couldn't save the ones she loved.

"Please Remi, it's okay." I comforted her, hugging her tight. "Come here. I'm fine. No need to worry."

We both stood there hugging each other, Remi kept whimpering, I hugged her tighter, comforting her as best as I could.

I tried to stay positive, my face did not give away what was on my mind. I kept thinking back to the conversation we had earlier, what he was saying to me. I could hear his voice echoing in my mind. 'As far as I am concerned... this conversation never happened... what did he mean by that? Was he telling me the truth?'

"Thank you." I heard her whisper into my ear, placing her hand on my chest. "I hope that bastard suffers."

The next night, I got a knock on my door, I was still in bed, still wounded from my last battle, if anything, they were still throbbing, and probably had a major limp for the next few days, but I didn't have the money to get the gel too repair my bone completely and having an arm that could bend right.

Sighing, I groaned loudly as I stumbled out of my bed. A little bit of pain coursed through my limbs as I touched the ground with my bare feet, another groan escaped my throat, my left leg was really messed up by that crystal sword, lucky for me, my healing factors kicked in and healed it, but I was still a little groggy, I didn't take anything yet.

"Oh yeah, I was going to get some later." I whispered.

It took me a good minute or two to limp over to the door, I had a feeling it was Williams since she wanted to check up on how I was doing, honestly, if I had more injuries, I'm sure that I would have had to get a prosthetic leg. Which didn't sound too bad to be honest. The doctor could do that or he had someone who could do that.

I yawned, slightly wincing in pain. I walked up to the door, struggling slightly as I used the side of my body to lean against the wall, I guess in a way I had to crawl to the door.

Once I opened it, I saw a familiar teacher. "Good evening Headmaster Williams." I could see Headmaster Williams dark brown eyes staring into mine, his hands behind his back, perhaps to keep himself looking orderly, or formal in front of me, most likely the latter.

I brushed my black hair away from my blue eyes. "You're... Mr. Williams. I don't remember... ah... ow..." I winced in pain, gripping onto the sides of my waist as my body couldn't move properly.

"Are you still wounded? Do you want me to... just go back to your room and rest. It is getting late, and we all had a tough few days yesterday, rest is important."

"No, no it's okay. What is the reason for your presence?"

"I just want to talk to you. Well. It's not just to talk to you, but to actually have a talk with you."

"You want to talk to me? Please, just cut to the chase." I told him, putting my hair back in order.

"We can talk, but just relax for a few minutes... let's chat!" Williams insisted, "It's nothing much. I'm only interested in your opinion regarding the Voidwalker's death, is he really gone or he's simply been hiding somewhere after this fiasco?"

"Well. It is difficult to say whether he's gone for good, is he gone or is he hiding somewhere unknown? Who knows?" I smiled. "He can't be dead, that's impossible." Williams stated.

"What...? He can't be dead?"
