Remi and Sora

Remi's Perspective:

It took several days of rest and peace to finish recovering. During that time, I couldn't stop thinking about everything that had happened. Then I came to the conclusion that the only way to protect the ones around me is to embrace the fact that I've grown stronger and will continue to grow in strength in the coming years, just like my friends.

I went to Sora's dorm room to see how he was doing. Honestly, it looked like he had just woken up, and judging by his face, he hadn't slept well.

The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of morning seeping through the curtains. The air inside felt heavy, as if carrying the weight of Sora's worries.

"Sora." I greeted as I walked inside.

He blinked a few times and looked towards me.

"Ah. Remi... Good morning... Wait. Are we meeting up today, right?"

He raised an eyebrow.

"I'm not sure..." He replied.

"Anyway, let's head to the arena first."

"Well, do you think there are classes today? I haven't been going to class since my rest had been impeded for about a week."

"What? There's no classes today, it's Sunday."

We continued walking through the school as we talked, I had a question, or rather, an observation.

"Hey, Sora. You seem exhausted."

It's like he didn't even hear me.

"I'll just say hello to him and leave."

The weather was still good, and a few clouds were showing on the horizon.

Sora sighed before looking at the floor. He must have been thinking, but didn't respond immediately. I continued to stay silent, waiting for him to speak.

Just as he was about to answer my question, a strong wind began to blow, causing both of us to close our eyes. It lasted for a few minutes. After the wind passed by, the two of us continued walking. I had to catch up to him as he didn't seem interested in talking anymore.

Our destination was the usual place where we could observe the view from the top of the Academy, overlooking the city.

The two of us arrived at the large steel door.

Seeing me having trouble opening it, Sora helped me without complaint. We entered the room together.

The two of us sat there as the lights started to turn on and the door slid closed behind us.

Without a word, I headed over to Sora's side and tried to get his attention. At this point, he still did not look up.

His hands were clutching his pants tightly.

Sighing loudly, I walked past him, as my footsteps echoed through the room.

-------------------------------------------Sora's POV------------------------------------------------------

When I saw Remi approach me, I started to get worried. Her expression was serious. Yet it didn't change as she approached me.

The room was dimly lit, with the soft glow of morning seeping through the curtains. The air inside felt heavy, as if carrying the weight of my worries.

"Sora, what's the matter? Why do you look so worn out? Is it about the loss you just experienced?" Remi asked, her eyes narrowing.

I shook my head. "I'm just tired, I guess."

Her lips turned to a frown.

"You're also a huge idiot too, Sora. Really. Come on. I know this has been a rough few days for you. So if there's something you want to talk about, don't hesitate, okay?"

I didn't respond immediately, as I wasn't sure how to answer.

She just stared back at me. It took a moment for me to find the words to continue, but soon I broke eye contact. "It's not the losses, Remi. But, when The Voidwalker invaded... It reminded me how much I've lost. The more people I love and care about. That's really what worries me. I feel alone, I mean, no one will ever love me, nor will anyone give me affection, no one will take care of me, or give me a hug... not even a 'happy birthday', what does it even matter anymore. My memories... but you. No, you won't abandon me. If The Voidwalker really did come back, he'd have to be prepared to fight another losing battle, right?"

"Of course, I wouldn't abandon you! I'd kill him if he dared to return!"

"Thank you. Anyway... if I feel like I lose more, if I don't stop him now... then, for sure, I'll... become another void. Just like all the other ones. Everyone would hate me, everyone would... But the truth is, right? There are a lot of good things happening to everyone. Not just me. So, please... It'll work out. I promise..."

"I won't leave your side."

"I... don't know... I... I... I hope so. I hope it'll all be okay..." I muttered.

Remi put a hand on my shoulder, giving me a reassuring smile.

But then a thought came to mind as I saw that same smirk. "If Future Sora comes again... Will I turn into one like him, or me? One from the future, that is." I inquired.

"Sora, no, don't think like that!" she cried.

"I know I shouldn't... But... I keep seeing the future, if I fail, I might as well die..."

"No, Sora, no, you can't! Don't!"

"I'm sorry, Remi, I'm sorry."

She glared at me as I stepped back in fear.

"You never apologized to me, Sora."

"For everything that I put you through. All the misery that I've caused you..." I paused, looking down in shame. "Everything."

Remi stared at me as her eyes became filled with anger. "And yet... even then... You're still just... You."

"You're right, Remi."

As Remi glared at me, I quickly explained that if my resolve isn't strong enough, then I might end up like The Voidwalker someday.

"You don't want to be like him... Don't worry, I've seen things, we'll bring him down. Together, I will help you to make sure that will never happen." she shouted, "Besides, you can't worry about it, or else... we'll all be screwed, Sora."

I nodded. "Yeah... I understand. Thanks, Remi."

"It's no big deal. We're friends, Sora. That's how it's supposed to be, you can count on me when you need help."
