Gregory Pov:

After buying the Maze Expert skill, experiences appeared in my mind of how to escape, explore, and map a maze. It felt as if I have spent thousands of hours on mazes, even though I have never even been in one.

'Now that I got the memory problem done I'm left with 88GP to spend. Now for the speed problem.' Putting into the search bar 'Movement speed improvement' a bunch of results showed up, but after scrolling for a long time I found a couple of possible candidates.

[Speed Shoes - Clothing - 25GP

When wearing the user will experience a movement speed improvement when active, can be activated once every day and lasts for 10 minutes]

[Basic Leg Speed Improvement - Potion - 25GP

When drank the user's legs will grow faster, resulting in a movement speed increase, although only slightly]

[Amateur Runner - Skill - 25GP

When bought the user will gain the skills of an amateur runner resulting in a more efficient run, thus decreasing stamina drain, and increasing speed, this is only a slight improvement]

If I could buy all three I would, but If I did I wouldn't have enough for anything else. There were other skills and clothing that I could buy, but these three seemed to be the best bargain, for example, there was an 'Advanced Speed Shoes' which was 125GP, and the cooldown on that was only a couple of hours, and the duration was at least an hour.

Now I immediately got rid of Amature Runner because I could gain that skill on my own, I also got rid of the shoes because I would grow out of them, so that left the Basic Leg Speed Improvement, which out of all of the things I found was the best physical boost that was also permanent, these must have been right before being rounded up but got rounded down.

I bought it and drank the potion, a burning sensation appeared on my legs, not a painful one. After the burning sensation ended I started running around, I was noticeably faster. If I was in the same situation as Mom I wouldn't have been caught.

I looked at the clock and noticed that I had spent a day looking through the shop. I was surprised that I wasn't falling over due to sleep deprivation, but I didn't feel tired in the slightest, it must be a quirk of this void.

While I was searching I got more ideas for what I could buy, while most of them I doubt I could buy with my current budget, so I put them in the back of my mind for later.

[Basic Quick Thinking - Ability - 25GP

With the basic version of the quick-thinking potion, your mind can think as quickly as the best quick thinkers in human history.]

I found this and immediately bought it. It was very useful for situations where I have to act fast or die. There was a normal and an advanced version of this potion, but I could afford either of them. When I bought it I felt my mind become quicker, thinking became easy, though my intelligence didn't increase.

I now only had 38GP left, so I could buy one more 25GP item and 2 5GP if I wanted to, I wanted to be able to manipulate people better, so I went searching for something to help me with that, and I did find something useful.

[High Mach - Ability - 125GP

When you use the ability you will become calm, unattached, calculated, and look for ways to exploit loose structures or vulnerability in people. People who use High Mach flourish in face-to-face settings where there are limited rules and structure and when emotions hold little value in goal achievement. The ability can be turned On and Off.]

This ability was amazing, I wanted to buy it as soon as I got 125GP, but sadly I didn't have that so I just made sure to make a note of it for later. I did find something I wanted to buy though.

[Adept - Ability - 25GP

Your learning proficiency is good, you learn skills faster, and can understand new topics sooner]

It was shorter than most descriptions, but I wanted to buy this for one simple reason, I was planning to be stuck in this death game for a while to let my body age, but just staying there would be a waste of time, so I planned on training for years learning new skills to help me survive in future death games. This ability would help me in training.

After buying the skill I didn't feel an immediate impact, but I would probably find out the effect when I get into the death game. Looking at the time I still had about 5 days left and I wasn't going to waste them. I started running around the void, trying to get faster and increase my stamina, if only by a little bit.

After running around the void for about an hour I noticed that I hadn't gotten the least bit tired, which was weird. I was sprinting at full speed. I should be exhausted by now, so I asked the Guide.

"Why is it that I can't get tired or sleepy in the void?" I ask the guide. "The gods noticed that a lot of DGM was training in the void, they didn't like that so they made it impossible to learn or train in the void, the only thing that you could learn was things related to the Death Games" the guide answered in a monotone voice.

"The reason you aren't getting sleepy in the void is that because too many DGM was falling asleep through the deadline and their death games were being chosen for them by the system, so they made it impossible to sleep." The guide continued to explain.

I nodded at that, it's unfortunate that I can't train or even learn anything in the void unless it's related to the Death Games, but that still means that I could learn things about the death games, and I could also look for things in the shop, so that's what I did, I spent the next week looking for things in the shop and asking the Guide questions if I had any.

[Sharingan(Locked) - Eyes - 15,625GP

The Sharingan grants the wielder two broad abilities: the "Eye of Insight" and the "Eye of Hypnotism"...]

I found this one, the description went on for a long while explaining the ability, but it required having chakra in your body, which I didn't have, I looked up chakra I found this…

[Chakra - Energy - 78,125GP

Chakra is a substance native to lifeforms on some planets…]

The explanation went on for a long time like the Sharingan, and no matter how much I fantasized about this I knew I couldn't get it.

[Shadow Monarch - Ability - 390,625GP

As the strongest Ruler and the Shadow Monarch, Ashborn was one of the most powerful individuals in existence, second only to Antares in raw strength…]

I could tell I was having a little too much fun reading all of these overpowered abilities, it was fun but I had to get back on track in finding proper things that would help me in my survival.

[Chess - item - 1GP

Chess is an abstract strategy game and involves no hidden information. It is played on a square chessboard with 64 squares arranged in an eight-by-eight grid.]

This may not help me in surviving physically, but mentally it will help me from going insane, you can't survive physically if you don't survive mentally, and that was the purpose of this item, to survive mentally.

"How would I bring this into the death game?" I ask the guide. When I said that a screen appeared in front of me, it looked like an inventory from a video game. I also had equipment slots for my clothing and weapon, my clothing slots were taken up by my bloody orphanage clothing. In the inventory was a chess set.

"What you see on your screen is what you will spawn within the death game, you see the two inventory, the one on the left is what you will spawn in with while the one on the right will stay here in the void. You currently can only take 1 item into the death game, but you can upgrade the inventory by spending GP." Looking at the left inventory I noticed that it was 25GP to upgrade to 5 inventory slots, I assumed it was 125GP to upgrade it again.

I moved the chess board to the 1 inventory slot I had, now that I knew that I would spawn in the death game, with these clothes I had on, I sought to buy some new clothes, I only had 12GP left, so I only looked for basic items.

[Basic clothing set 10-year-old - Clothing - 5GP

Clothing for a 10-year-old]

I bought it and slid the clothes into the slots, and now I was in new clothes, I also took my blood-stained knife and put it into my weapon slot, and looking at the bracelet slot I remembered something, in the inventory I noticed a bracelet, the same one I gave to Drake, I forgot about it.

Dragging it to my bracelet slot, it appeared on my wrist. I got sentimental looking at the bracelet, all the memories of me and Drake played in my mind. 'I'll survive for you' I think as I selected 'The Maze Runner' and the timer changed and I had 1 day to prepare.

(Next chapter is the start of the second death game, yay! I can't wait! Anyway, if you don't give me your Power Stones and Review, I'll make you a character in this death game)
