Chapter 11 - Joseph's Gift.

Minutes before the wave.

Numerous knights and adventurers can be seen scattered in town, due to the increase of military and arrivals of heroes, many are positive that they will overcome this wave without too much casualty.

The wave will start at 20 minutes...

"It's counting down to the wave?" Naofumi questioned while looking at the giant hourglass.

Suddenly someone talks behind him, "Is that Naofumi I see?"

Naofumi turns around and saw Moyasu along with his party but without the princess.

Motoyasu looking smug continues to talk, "You're still fighting with such flimsy equipment?"

Raphtalia looked at Motoyasu with anger but did not say anything.

Naofumi also saw Ren and Itsuki but decided not to talk to them and just leave the church however before he left, a familiar voice suddenly reverberated around the room.

"I agree with the spear, Naofumi why are you and your companion still wearing such flimsy equipment," The unknown voice said.

Everyone looked at the source of the voice and saw Joseph and Elise are standing there with some knights behind them.

The knights are pushing a cart that was full of shining armor and clearly made of highly durable material.

Joseph ordered the knights to give Naofumi and Raphtalia their new armor.

The knights then pushed the cart towards Naofumi, then go back behind the king.

Raphtalias eyes are shining when she saw the cart full of armors, then looked at Naofumi and said, "Naofumi-Sama, Naofumi-Sama!"

The three heroes looked at each other without saying anything, they are still afraid of Joseph after all.

Motoyasu learned to behave knowing that he cannot beat Joseph, 'At least not right now,' Motoyasu thought.

Ren touched his neck remembering how Joseph almost chokes him to death and slightly blush.

Itsuki just looked down, he hates his own powerlessness.

Naofumi is also surprised and asked Joseph, "Why you are giving this to us your majesty?"

"Well, I discovered that the previous king didn't give you money, So I want to compensate you," Joseph said while smiling and thought, 'and to congratulate you, you survive when no one is believing you, survived when everyone is hating you, survived and still found your light, survived the situation where I lose.'

Joseph clapped his hands and said, "Anyway! Wear that armor already, I have some business to attend," then proceed to leave.

At first, Joseph couldn't care less about Naofumi but took a fancy to him when he thought Naofumi and his past are almost the same but have different outcomes.

Joseph didn't clear Naofumi's name because he wants to see how far Naofumi can survive if he took his light from him.

Joseph walked away with a dark expression on his face, and thought 'I will take Raphtalia from you very soon.'

Before Joseph can leave Raphtalia shouted at him, "Thank you Joseph-Sama!"

Joseph continued walking and simply raised his right hand without looking back.

"Let's quickly wear it Naofumi-Sama!" Raphtalia shouted then smiled sweetly, showing her white teeth, Naofumi just nods with a smile on his face, then both of them left the church.

Outside, three minutes before the wave.

"Woah! Naofumi-Sama this armor is so light, It didn't hinder my movement at all" Raphtalia said while Jumping up and down.

"Yeah, we should thank the king again in the future." Naofumi said feeling the power of the armor that he is wearing, then continued, "With this, I can protect you better," Which made Raphtalia blush.

Raphtalia also received a new sword from Joseph and decide to give it a swing before the wave starts.

The sword's sheath is colored in brown, and the handle has a small raccoon ear on each side, which made Raphtalia smile.

Raphtalia unsheath the sword and slash it to a nearby tree.

The tree was cut in half like butter, shocking both of them. 'I will truly treasure this gift,' Raphtalia thought.

Naofumi approached Raphtalia and tap her shoulders which made her look to him, Naofumi then said, "Be careful with that," which Raphtalia agree to.

Joseph is in the castle looking up the sky while peacefully waiting for the wave when he was disturbed with the sound ringed in his head.
