The moment Kronos left, Alex opened the system messages that he was holding off. Because he was more curious in his development abilities, he wasn't able to look at the notifications properly but now, he was free to do so.

This was another ultra power up. This increase in power made him glad that he maxed out his basic abilities to the peak before leveling up and motivated him to do the same for each and every level.
It might take time, but as long as he put in the effort he would be able to increase his stats to S rank or higher before deciding to level up. He believed in the idiom that to build a tall tower, you had to first build a strong foundation.

This was the main reason Bell Cranel was able to become so strong in the manga. Because he had a unique skill called 'Liaris Freese' he was able to be one of the only documented adventurers to have almost all of his stats at S rank or higher while at lv 1.)
Looking at the system prompts, Alex murmured.

As Alex was wondering and examining the change in his body, a cat appeared out of nowhere and immediately dove straight into his face.

Surprised by the sudden appearance, he fell down as he wasn't expecting that. Alex half opened his eyes and saw it was Krausel.

Licking his face and rubbing its body to him, Alex could feel the soft fur of Krausel.
"Ahh right, I completely forgot about you!"
Alex exclaimed as he was so focused in the fight with the Juggernaut which made him forgot about the Celestial Cat's existence.
"Well I'm relieved that you're fine."
As Alex patted Krausel which his pet liked, a notification appeared.

Alex stared absentmindedly at the message. Understanding what it meant, he was greatly surprised.
"So as long as I didn't die, Krausel will never die?"
Alex lifted the cat who was happily feeling his touch.

Sensing his master praising him, Krausel released a smug smirk.

With his Dragon Heart, this only benefitted Alex more. Seeing the system message, Alex smiled as he hugged Krausel for being so amazing. Now that he discovered that Krausel will be be fine in the dungeon as long as his well being is okay, Alex will not let Krausel to hold back anymore.
Putting the Celestial Cat down on his bed, Alex took something from his inventory.

As it was an item from the system, Alex stared closely, and the first thing he noticed was that he had no idea how to properly handle a whetstone.
"This sucks. I hope that it wouldn't damage the sword even further."
Alex became worried because of his poor skill of using the stone but as the stone came into contact with the blade his concerns vanished. The moment the whetstone touched the marred blade, it began to glow with a subtle white luminance.
Each successive stroke of the whetstone increased the luminance until the third stroke, where the blade flashed a bright light before being restored to its pinnacle state. Even the nick in the blade he had left had completely vanished.
He grabbed the sword and began to inspect it from every conceivable angle. The blade was in perfect condition! It was even polished to a state unattained by the previous sword. Now the blade had a cold gleam that seemed to be able to cut anyone that stared at it too intensely.
He looked towards the stone in his hand with intrigue but noticed that it had turned into dust.
"What happened to the whetstone?"
He couldn't understand how the stone turned to dust when it was previously in a whole, unused, state.
"So the stone always break after one use."
Even if the whetstone was a single-use item, it could be a powerful asset to any familia adventuring into the dungeon. If it could restore the state of damaged weapons to their optimal form, it would be an incredibly useful tool for long expeditions.
Now that he had repaired the Splitting Edge, Alex relaxed his tensed nerves. Suddenly, he remembered something in the shop while browsing for the whetstone. Out of curiosity, Alex opened the shop again and looked for it.

Additionally, if the enhancement was successful, the enhancement value would be +1, but if it failed, it would be -3, so the chances of owning high enhanced equipment was like picking stars from the sky.
However, in the case of the blessed enhancement stones, the drop was -1 instead of -3 if an enhancement failed. Normall, the success rate of enhancement is only at 0.000012% or 1 in a millions.
It is literally the same as the probability of winning the grand price of winning a lottery.
With the Splitting Edge and the weapon enhancement stones, Alex then attempted to enhance the Splitting Edge without hesitation.

Every time an item was enhanced by +1, the basic stats were increased by 5%. The original damage of 42-50 increased to 44-52. As he had bought more enhancement stones with all of his remaining money, Alex continued to use and enhance the item.

The more successful the enhancement, the more the sword's color gradually changed. The red sword gradually turned into bloody red.
Items had a relatively high probability of being enhanced to +5. Therefore, there wasn't a big difference in price between +0 items and +5 items. The problem was enhancing it to +6.
