Denatus

At the adventurer's guild headquarters, the usually lively people were quiet and silent at the same time. People who habitually came here to collect information about the dungeon looked at the huge notice board where a conspicuous notice was posted with a stunned expression.

Everyone had an unbelievable expressions after reading the notice. Three notices had shocked the people to their core.

A notice of the Loki Familia announcing the Sword Princess becoming a level 6 after she defeated a deep dungeon floor boss in the 37th floor all by herself and two notices announcing an upgrade of two new adventurers.

A new adventurer, Bell Cranel. Joined Hestia Familia for one month and half. New adventurer, Alex Uchiha from Kronos Familia for two weeks.

"Their titles were yet to be determined..."

"Are you kidding me? How is this possible..." Someone couldn't help but shout.

"I must be still drunk today and had hallucinations because of poor state. Brothers, let me head back home and rest for the day." A passerby adventurer thought he was drunk.

Not long ago, the guild had posted an unbelievable announcement in the notice board, now they added two. After recovering from the shock, the adventurers made a commotion in the guild hall.

At the counter, a certain half-elf and a red haired werewolf woman looked at the documents in their hands with a sigh. The document on them contains similar notice but just a smaller version.

The half-elf sneered and gave out a dark chuckle, excluding negative and depressing pressure, making the pink haired friend next to her to flinch.

"E-Eina? Are you alright?" Misha asked weakly.

"Of course I'm fine. I'm just a little upset that Bell was becoming reckless...Also that Alex too even..."

Eina replied with a small pout. She then heard a sigh at her side.

"We really have two troublemakers this time right Tulle?"

Said a werewolf woman reading the files in her hand.

"M-miss Rose?"

"That Alex, even without telling me what he had encountered to level up, I could tell that its a life threatening encounter."

Hearing Rose's grumble, an adventurer came into Eina's mind. The memories of her regret of the death of Maris overlapped with Rose's words. The first adventurer she had taken care of after she became a Dungeon expedition advisor.

"Well it can't be helped. There are safer jobs but they chose to be adventurers. For money, for fame, or just searching idiotic sense of excitement of chasing the unknown. There's no way we could save people like that."

The werewolf receptionist said grumpily as she played with her red hair.

"It was their choice to go on an adventure. No matter how much we try to talk them out of it, there'd be no point."

Eina slowly looked up from where she at her desk. In addition to Rose's irritation, there was also a hint of grief coming from her.

The reason why most guild employees warned the adventurers was because of something. It was an adventurer's 'adventure' that lead them to death.

A moment of carelessness or pride, or even the courage to accomplish great deeds—these all became the scythe that mercilessly harvested their lives.

Just like the other guild employees, Eina began to associate the word adventure with recklessness. That's why she would not let them have their adventures.

With her determination from before, Eina will continue doing her absolutely everything she could on behalf of all the adventurers she cared.

"Bell, I swear I will never let you die. Alex too, even though I'm not your advisor but as a friend, I'll do my best to keep you from harm."

Eina thought with determination that she will spend more effort than before now that the adventurers in her mind was now level 2. However, soon a doubt came into her mind.

"Hmmm...Miss Rose?"

"Yes Tulle?"

Rose turned her attention to Eina wondering what the beautiful half-elf wanted to ask.

"Does Alex normally look like that?"

As she has only able to spoke at Alex once, Eina wasn't really sure but Alex really looked slightly different to her from what he looked last time.

"Ah that?"

Rose then contemplated as she was also troubled with this. As she knew Alex more than Eina, she noticed earlier that Alex was very different than before.

From what she noticed, the pale skin of Alex had become healthier and from her encounter with Alex earlier who reported his rise in level, his hair was longer than what he had in the morning when Alex returned from the dungeon.

(#A/N: Alex was only able to sleep for atleast 3 hours or more since he got home and return to the guild at the afternoon.)

His face was also more handsome with his nose becoming slightly more symmetrical and his eyebrows became sharper.

"Not like he wasn't handsome to begin with."

Rose commented which puzzled Eina hearing that. Noticing that she slipped up the words on her mind, Rose immediately continued.

"I'm quite sure that he had become taller than his height compared to what he is in the morning."

If she remembered correctly, Alex's height was should be at 146 centimeters but now he had grown taller than that growing to 165 centimeters tall so the change was very noticeable. He no longer look like a child at all but a 15 year old boy.

"Well his change doesn't really matter if he wouldn't last long."

"R-Rose!"

"Come on, Tulle, we already had this conversation before. Just like the boy you're in charge in, even you know when someone got no chance right?"

Said the werewolf half-jokingly. After many years of working at the guild, employees got a sense for whether a new adventurer knocking at the doors was going to make it.

"Well just remember our bet."

The werewolf receptionist grinned as she moved to her work.

Acchooo!

"Someone was definitely talking about my greatness."

Alex murmured touching his nose after sneezing out of nowhere. He was left confused why he sneezed when he had the Perfect Status Immunity which should negate any status ailments.

After reporting to the guild, Alex strolled around Orario, wanting to relax for the time being. In every corner and at every place he passed by, rumors about Bell's record breaking could be heard.

"Hey did you hear the latest news from the guild?"

His interest was intrigued which made Alex looked at the direction of several thugs who was gathered around the street.

"Apparently there's also someone who also leveled up today breaking the record of the Sword Princess."

A typical looking thugs shared to his hoomies with an excited expression.

"Was it greater than the one in the morning?"

A thug with a scar on his face holding a bottle of booze questioned with a glare.

"They said he became a level 2 just in two weeks time."

The thugs who were listening was shocked to their core when listening to that.

"Wh-whaaaaat?"

"You're kidding right? There's no way someone could level up that easily!"

Becoming a level 2 in just a month and half was one thing but in just two weeks? Their expression slumped, distorted and glared at the one who spoke.

"Damn it...Why is it only them...I've been..."

Looking at them at the distance, Alex knew that expression. Envy and jealousy. He knew that normal adventurers level up more than a year or sometimes it would take them 3 years or longer if they somehow survived.

What's more was that even in that long time-frame, only one basic ability had reached to D rank which was the minimum requirement to level up.

Knowing that it would only make them feel worse, he did not try to comfort them. He understands that sympathy was the most painful thing for someone in this position who was feeling inferior.

Redirecting his attention, Alex wondered what alias he would get from the deities. The Denatus is a meeting of the Gods held once every three months. Many things are discussed and aliases are given to adventurers that leveled up.

An alias is a second name given to all adventurers during the Denatus by the Gods once they reach Level 2. An alias can potentially change every time an adventurer levels up. Certain Gods take advantage of the naming process to give chuunibyou type aliases to adventurers from weaker familia for entertainment purposes, however as there is a difference in how the children perceive them, they consider it to be cool.

"Well I'll just wait for Kronos to tell me."

Even Kronos didn't told him earlier about the Denatus that was going to be conducted today, Alex was aware that with his deity's nature, he was bound to show off wanting to see the deities envious expressions with his troublemaking personality.

With that in mind, Alex made his way to famous pub in Orario. The Hostess of Fertility wanting to take eat some of their delicious foods and see the beautiful ladies at the same time.

On the 30th floor of Babel, the Denatus had been held. Many deities had gathered with different intentions. Some were to suggest and review the events that occur in the city, some were to decide an aliases for their adventurers while some were for entertainment.

To participate, a god must have one level 2 or higher member in their Familia. Attending Denatus is a sign that their Familia is one of the stronger force of Orario.

"It's Freya-sama!"

"Freya-sama is here! It's a blessing for my eyes."

The male deities were making some ruckus seeing a certain goddess. She has long silver hair, silver eyes, and white skin like that of fresh snow. She has a perfect golden ratio, enough to think that the golden ratio originated from her. Freya has a beauty that is superior and outstanding even among the gods.

"Ishtar-sama!"

"Ah! She stepped on me."

"Please step on me too!"

At the other side, many gods were also being lively nearing the figure of a goddess that has brown skin and is well endowed. She wears revealing attire similar to that of Amazonesses, consisting of a single red-orange piece of cloth around her neck that barely covers her breasts and a matching pareo around her waist that reaches down to her ankles.

For jewelry, she wears golden bracelets, anklets and necklaces, along with a tiara at the top of her head, with several jewels in the center.

"Are you all here? Let's begin!"

A goddess with light red hair and red eyes cheerfully shouted catching everyone's attention. She is Loki, the head of the Loki Familia.

"This will be our something thousandth Denatus. I, Loki will be chairing this meeting!"

"Yeah!"

All gods cheerfully yelled with the signal of the official start of the Denatus.
