9 Familia

As I woke up I groggily looked around, it had been such a good night of sleep, the best I've had in any world, it was like the blankets didn't want to let me go. Finally getting out of bed I jumped into my clothes and headed downstairs for some breakfast.

The first thing I saw as I came downstairs was the innkeeper standing behind the counter putting some glasses back in place.

"Good morning." I greeted in a sleepy voice.

"Morning? Haha, morning hours ago kid." He replied in a boisterous voice.

"Almost thought you had run off with getting the breakfast you paid for." The innkeeper said.

"Wha- Wait what's the time?" I quickly replied quite confused.

"Hmm, about 12." He told me.

sighing a sigh of relief, I almost thought I had slept all day.

Walking up to the counter I placed the key on the table.

"Thanks for the info, could I get that breakfast turned lunch now?" I asked in an even voice, trying to hide my embarrassment.

"Sure, just give me a minute and it'll be here, with some water," he said in a sheepish voice.

Having my breakfast was a quiet affair, no one disturbed me, so I had plenty of time to wake up for real this time.

After I finished my breakfast I bid the innkeeper goodbye and went on my merry way, as I was walking based on the directions given to me by Rose, I can across a lot of places that looked interesting but I knew nothing about them, they were never explored in the anime and manga and thus I had no way of knowing.

After a while, I finally arrived at my destination. quite a modest building, two stories with a small store in the front end of the building, outside the building it was an emblem of the body of a healthy man.

Walking into the store I was announced by a bell going off and hit by the smell of medicine, not unpleasant like it was in the old world, more of a herbal smell blended with iron.

As I walked in a little further, I spotted a girl about my age maybe a year or two older, she had long brown hair, purple eyes, dog ears, and a tail. As I was looking around and was about to walk up to the counter to greet the girl.

A tall man walked out of the back, if I was honest he was quite handsome, with long dark blue hair and dark blue eyes. He wore a black robe, a tan brown cloak that reaches down past his shoulders, and brown shoes.

He looked easily approachable, so that's what I decided to do.

"Hello you must be Miach, I am Eldur Ignis, but you can just call me Ignis I prefer it that way" I introduced myself.

"Ah. You must be the lad Rose sent a message about, she did mention that you were coming today, I honestly expected you a bit earlier from what the letter sent said about you." Miach said with a smile on his face.

"Uhm. About that, I only just woke up about an hour ago, I had a long journey to Orario you see and yesterday was the first time in a week I slept in a bed." I replied in a sheepish voice with a small blush on my cheeks.

For the first time since I arrived the girl that I remembered as Naaza tried to stifle a small laugh, while Miach didn't hold back in the least and let out a small laugh.

"Haha. So that was why I was wondering if you had gotten lost, Rose can be quite reserved with the details." Miach told me.

"Well since you are here why don't we go to the back and talk," Miach suggested.

"That would be great," I said with an enthusiastic voice.

We quickly made our way to the back, I was glad Miach didn't seem to be against the idea of me joining his Familia for now.

As we reached the end of the hallway he opened a door into a room with two sofas and a coffee table.

"Well here we are, we normally use this room to negotiate deals with other Familia, not that we get a lot of those anymore," He told me in a sad tone.

"It's nice" I added, which brought a smile back to Miach's face.

"Well, let's get to it Young Ignis. Can you tell me why you wish to join my Familia, I'm curious, we don't get a lot of people wanting to join us if any at all." Miach asked me.

"It's quite simple actually. Firstly I haven't been in Orario long but from the time I've spent here, I've heard a few stories about how gods treat us mortals, and honestly, the stories haven't been good. While you choose to step down from that pedestal for the sake of one of your children, you bowed down without even hesitating all for the sake of a mortal, not many of the other gods would do that, that makes you a genuinely good guy in my book." I told him as I took a breath to catch my breath.

"My second and more practical reason, is I work best alone your Familia at the moment is just you and your captain Naaza, Neither of you can go in the dungeon, which would allow me to work alone as I prefer." As I finished my rant I took a deep breath and put on a rueful smile.

Miach sat there for a few minutes absorbing the things I told him, after a while, I saw a blooming smile make its way to his face.

"Well young Ignis, I truly do think you would fit in well here with me and Naaza she doesn't like people much after a tragedy in the dungeon," Miach told me with a smile.

A Smile made its way to my face but before I could accept Miach interrupted me.

"Before you accept are you aware that this Familia has a big outstanding debt?" Miach asked me seriously.

"Ah yes that, a debt of 77,000,000 Valis owed to the Dian Cecht Familia. Haha no biggie it'll be paid back before you even know it" I told him with a laugh.

As I said this a gigantic smile made its way onto Miach's face, before he could welcome me we both heard a small gasp from the other side of the door.

We both gave a small rueful smile at that, as Miach extended his hand for a handshake, which I in turn shook.

"Well then Ignis let's make it official shall we, I need you to lay on the sofa and take your shirt off so I can give you your falna and officially make you a part of my Familia. He told me as he gestured at the sofa I was sitting on.

I quickly tore off my shirt and jumped on the sofa in my excitement which made Miach giggle a bit as he stepped over and pricked his finger.
