Chapter 89: Creepy Crawlies

At the surface of Orario, Bell was currently being scolded by Eina.

"Geez, Bell. You've only been an adventurer for a few days. And you're already going to the 4th floor. Adventurers stay for weeks on the 1st one." Eina sighed.

She was worried that he would get in an accident like her other advisee, Maris. She was lucky that the Demeter familia's expedition team were going down to train their newbie.

"Sorry Eina, but I can handle them! I got training from someone since I was young, you see?" Bell smiled.

"Who is it?" Eina raised a brow. "From big bro Lars! You know him right?" Bell remembered that Eina called him the captain of their expedition team.

"Wait, really? How did you meet him even?" Eina was surprised.

"Well, he visited my mountain village back when we were younger." Bell grinned.

"Okay... Since he trained you, I'll approve of you going until the 10th floor. But 6th onwards, you need at least a supporter." Eina nodded at him.

"Really? Okay!" Bell was instructed by Alfia to start an adventure or he will never grow.

She grew up at the time where adventurers either die as fodder or became 1st class. It was do or die. Even 2nd class adventurers were considered weak back then.

"Just be careful okay? Buy some armor, it will help you when more monsters start to spawn." Eina sighed at his joyful expression.

"Where do you reckon I can buy some?" Bell saw the Hephaestus and Goibniu familia shops. Even the lowest prices were at 5 digits.

"I'll show you later, stay at the 5th floor for now, alright?" Eina smiled at him and he nodded.

"It's a date then! Thanks Eina! I love you!" Bell ran away as he couldn't wait to get in the dungeon.

"That boy..." Eina was surprised for a second. "Hoh? I love you he said." Misha, her smol colleague heard it.

"Rose! Eina just got confessed to! And she looks happy!" Misha called out and Rose appeared quickly.

"Tch, Eina. Aren't you ashamed? Going for cute little boys?" Rose teased her.

"W-wha!? Shut up! Lars is 9 years younger than you!" Eina rebutted and Rose was sent reeling.

"H-he isn't a newbie kid though!" Rose argued back, but her argument was weak.

They then started arguing who was the one that loved teens while being adults.

"Hah, Lars is in an expedition. I hope he comes back soon." Freya, aka Syr Flova was sweeping the front of the hostess of fertility.

When she saw someone who was running towards Babel.

"Hmm?" Syr saw his soul and it was a pure white soul, as pure as driven snow.

"W-wha? Such a pure individual..." Syr blinked dumbly.

She wanted him in her familia immediately. As an avid collector of individuals that are unique, she couldn't resist.

So she hatched up a plan. Bell was running and he wasn't paying much attention.

Syr acted like she was just cleaning and she walked towards his trajectory while he was in her blindspot.

"Look out! Whoa!" Bell crashed onto her and Syr yelped.

'Heh, how's that for acting. Hook, line, and sinker.' Syr grinned inside her mind.

"Ouch..." Syr winced and Bell helped her up. "Sorry! I didn't expect to run into someone!" Bell bowed immediately.

"I wasn't looking too, so it's all okay. Though there is something you can do to make it up to me." Syr smiled at him.

"Sure! I can do it, miss? I'm Bell Cranel by the way." Bell introduced himself.

"Ahh, call me Syr, Bell. And it would be nice if you came by the hostess." She pointed at their establishment.

"Uhh, sure? I'll come by later!" Bell ran again and Syr secured a connection.

"Heh, too easy." Syr thought that Bell would definitely achieve great things.

She got a closer look on his soul, and there was a deep-red color in the middle of his pure-white soul.

"His determination is on fire. I wonder what he'll achieve?" Syr smirked and she has put Bell in her watchlist.

__52nd floor__

'Hmm, I wonder if Ley-chan's fine. I hope it's fine, though showing up now is a bad idea.' Lars frowned.

Thankfully though, they cruised through the floor without Ley doing another surprise visit.

"Okay, put on your salamander wool. This is going to be difficult." Finn ordered as they prepared their descent to the dragon's vase.

The flares of the valgang dragond is a threat that can't be taken lightly.

After all, those bastards can shoot through dungeon floors with ease. They'll get one shot if they're hit by it square on.

"I have a plan! Have you ever heard the word skydiving?" Lars asked them.

"Oh no you don't! This crazy bastard bore a hole through the floors and jumped in it with us! I thought I was gonna fucking die!" Lyra rejected it immediately.

"You baby, you loved it. You had a heart stopping surprise." Lars rolled his eyes.

"I don't think that's a good idea with these many people..." Alise looked at the Loki familia.

"Yeah, that was fun. But it's too fun, these guys would get a heart attack." Kaguya pointed at the 2nd regiment.

And they were terrified of whag Lars would do to them.

"I say we go with it." Argana of course was a fearless killing machine.

"It sounds fun." Bache shrugged. Raul and Anakitty were shaking their heads.

"It does." Ais imagined it, skydiving while valgang dragons fired their beams at you.

"We aren't doing it." Riveria looked at her sternly.

"No way, we're going to die!" Raul who was quite cowardly stepped back and then it happened.

There was a rumbling sound and the ground started to heat up.

"Dodge!" Gareth pulled him away immediately and a flare of a valgang dragon decimated the ground he was on.

"Cowabunga it is!" Lars jumped on the hole and flames erupted from it as Riveria screamed.

The Astraea familia and Lars' group followed immediately. Though, Lyra was screeching still.

"Not agaaaaaain!" The Loki familia heard her screams fade away as it was replaced by the sounds of beams being fired.

"Fuck, no time to waste! Crazy young'uns" Gareth followed them and the other members of the expedition stared at Finn for the next step.

"We ride the wind to battle?" Finn thought it was incredibly stupid, but the dragon's vase is their major hurdle right now.

And the familia needs to learn how to fight them as the future executives. Riveria might not leave, but Gareth and Finn are getting older.

Ais immediately jumped with a smile. "Wait for me Lars!" She giggled and the Loki familia froze.

"Did Ais-san just giggle?" Lefiya grabbed her chest as if she just got a heart attack.

Finn and Riveria followed and they left those who didn't have the courage.

After all, anyone who didn't can't be in the 2nd regiment who is supposed to be the successors of the executives.

Lars spread his arms and legs as beams hit him. And the anti-magic aura around him diffused everything.

'Silentium Eden is awesome as hell.' Lars grinned at Alfia's overpowered magic.

Hell, it cost almost as much as Hephaestus' smithing techniques. It was that overpowered. She's a mage's bane.

"Come and have it you pricks!" Lars roared, infusing it with mana. The valgang dragons then stopped.

"Let the Loki familia deal with them! Haruhime! Go and fight a dragon!" Lars laughed as he shouted at her.

Haruhime nodded seriously though, chanting her magic.

"Grow. That power and that vessel. Breadth of wealth and breadth of wishes. Until the bell tolls, bring forth glory and illusion. Grow." Haruhime's tails started to glow.

"Confine divine offerings within this body. This golden light bestowed from above. Into the hammer and into the ground, may it bestow good fortune upon you. Grow." She finished her chant and Haruhime was coated by an aura of her magic.

"I'll give you a boost!" Lars used his psychokinesis on her and Haruhime was launched towards the valgang dragons.

And she fearlessly kept her focus on the nearest one. "Hyah!" She let out a warcry as she stabbed the unsuspecting dragon on the head.

Her sword plunged towards its skull and Haruhime killed it due to her increased momentum.

"I will not fail Lars-sama's expectations!" She charged and jumped towards another. Stabbing it through the eye as she clung to it.

"I knew she had it in her." Kaguya almost shed a tear at the sight, a mere level 3. Fighting high level 5 dragon monsters that are ranked as superior species.

"That's my girl! Make me proud!" Lars clapped in excitement at the scene.

"Lars-sama killed a green dragon when he was just a toddler and unblessed! I will kill you!" Haruhime repeatedly stabbed the dragon's eye violently.

"I've raised her well, beneath her cute and shy personality. She has that black airforce energy." Lars nodded in satisfaction.

The rest of the Loki familia arrived and Ais quickly used ariel to kill anything that moved.

"Tempest, no dragon will be left alive." She squinted her eyes at the valgang dragons.

Being as efficient as possible, she started stabbing them through the eyes and heads with her sword.

Zipping around the battlefield like a monster assassin.

"She's gotten really good with her technique. Ais used to brute force everything." Kaguya nodded at Ais' change in how she does things.

"Umu, that's why her sword needs the durandal trait. She was just rampaging around with a sharp stick." Alise chuckled.

"I heard that." Ais pouted at them as the wind carried their conversation to her ears.

And now that she's more self-aware, she got embarrassed.

"At least you're like an assassin now, not a murder hobo anymore." Lars gave her a thumbs up.

"Lars, shut up." Ais puffed her cheeks in anger for lacking delicacy.

"Ais-san is as incredible as ever." Lefiya watched her idol kill the dragons.

A stray breath attack then came to her. A shield appeared right in front of her and she felt a big hand pat her head.

"Stop dilly dallying, lass. You can get killed easily here." Gareth advised and Lefiya nodded nervously.

"Come here you lizard bastard!" Gareth charged at the valgang dragon that almost cremated Lefiya and he gave an uppercut on its chin.

The dragon's massive body was lifted off the ground and he grabbed its tail, using it as a club to beat the other ones to death.

"Hah, Gareth is too excited." Finn shook his head at the dwarf's eagerness.

"This is uncharted territory after all, it must've sparked something inside of him." Riveria sighed.

The 2nd regiment began to charge, seeing Gareth's display of power.

While even the Astraea familia was just shocked at seeing Lars walk through the blazing attacks aimed at him like it was a warm shower.

He was just taking a stroll and swinging his arm like a conductor and a valgang dragon's neck would snap.

"That guy is seriously overpowered..." Lyra grumbled.

"Isn't that what makes him so delicious?" Kaguya licked her lips.

"Kaguya!" Ryuu shouted at her lewd comment and Alise glared at her.

"What? I know that you two are thinking of getting down and dirty with him too. His rock hard muscles pressing onto you, his strong hands grabbing you." Kaguya whispered to them and they imagined it.

"Don't tease them too much, they'll overheat." Lyra sighed.

And while they were exterminating the abonimable dragons, bugs began to pour in from the 59th floor.

"They're... Quite disgusting." Ais winced when she saw them.

The huge caterpillar-like monsters were wriggling around creepily.

"Why are bugs here? And they came from the 59th floor?" Finn immediately sensed that something was wrong.

"Yeah, the 59th floor is a tundra, right?" Riveria added.

"Let's just start killing them anyways." Kaguya shrugged and she swung her sword on one of them.

The guts and juices of it exploded and it hit her. She noticed that her battle kimono was smoking instantly.

So she did the sensible thing and took it off in a heartbeat. And being one to follow the traditions as a noble. She didn't wear any underneath.

"Those are some sweet cheeks." Lars gave her a thumbs up.

"Thanks, I work out." Kaguya winked at him. Alise and Ryuu immediately cover her.

"W-what are you doing!?" The two of them screeched and Kaguya sighed.

"Look..." Kaguya dropped her sword that was also starting to melt.

The two shut up after that. "Their body fluids can melt even 1st class weapons! Use ranged attacks and magic!" Finn shouted out.

"I guess bugs will be on the menu?" Lars squinted his eyes as he wondered if Dionysus was responsible for the irregulars.
