Chapter 1Prologue : Little Fu Meili

'Is this how death looks like?'

"I want to go to mommy and daddy…"

I'm crying and crying a lot. My hands and feet hurt badly. I don't know why one of the uncles tied me. This place is so scary! It is dark, and I don't like it at all. Because monsters hide in dark places, and then they eat you up! That is how it is in every story that mommy tells me at bedtime.

I looked at all these uncles. They are bad, they are really bad. They were beating up a pretty sister, and I started crying for her. Daddy says it's bad to hurt others. But then they caught me.

"Mommy...Daddy…I want Mommy and Daddy…I want to go back home…" 

I cried hard, but the uncle is smiling, but it is not like how Daddy smiles at me.

"Sorry, dear, we cannot send you back home."

I think I have seen this in a movie before. 

The bad guy would laugh and look happy when he wants to hurt the good guy.

Is he going to hurt me? But it is really painful! I don't want to get hurt!

"No, I want to go back. Why can't I?"

"Because you have seen something you shouldn't have."

I understood because I'm smart. One day, my classmate, Qingyu, hit me on the head. I told my teacher, and she punished him for it. Qingyu was mad at me that I told my teacher.

"I won't tell anybody, I promise!" 

"We cannot do that little girl. You have to die."

"Die?" I have never heard of that before.

"Didn't your Mommy tell you? It is when you go to heaven."

I remember my neighbor's kitty who didn't come to my house one day. She said, "She is resting in heaven, dear. She is living in a better place so she won't come anymore."

I cried harder. I don't know where heaven is, but I know that you never come back again. "Mommy...Daddy…No, I don't want to go there. Take me to Mommy and Daddy!"

Then a light hurt my eyes. I see someone standing at the top. It is dark, and I cannot see that person clearly. But, there is a thing shining brightly, something at the side. I cannot make out its shape.

"Uncle, are you the king?" I have seen this in cartoons. "Uncle King, I want to go to Mommy and Daddy, please!"

But he didn't say anything.

"Nobody will help you here."

I am scared. I want to run away. Even the king is a bad guy! 

But then I remembered what Daddy said.

Every story has a hero who defeats the bad guy. And as the princess captured by them, I have to help him. I quickly and quietly drew the image of the thing shining I saw on the dirt. I'm not good at drawing, but I hope my hero will understand.

The bad uncle was walking towards me, smiling, and he had a knife in his hands. I am scared because knives hurt!

"If you don't send me back to my Mommy and Daddy, then my hero will beat you up!"

But everybody laughed.

"It's the truth! One day, my hero will come and beat you all." I am trying to be brave, just like my hero. But it is hard, and I'm still crying.

The bad uncle laughed loudly. "I will wait for him."

He raised his hand.

"You are a monster. Home... Mommy...Daddy..." I am shaking badly.

Suddenly, I feel pain, lots and lots of it, even more than when I had scratched my knee, even more than when I had accidentally bumped my head on a wall. I am scared.

In my mind, I saw my mommy and daddy. They were smiling at me.

Everything was spinning. I got more scared.

I want to go to Mommy and Daddy...

Then I saw the tall figure of a man. He looked big and strong, just like a superman. I couldn't see his face, but I felt happy, very, very happy.

I know who he is.

I have to say that I struggled to write a review for this novel, I wanted to be objective about it, but I couldn't! Because this is exactly the type of novels that I like. The endings of your chapters are really hooking! I noticed that your writing balances between descriptions, actions, and dialogs flawlessly, something a lot of writers wish to achieve! Btw, I don't say this very often, but you cover is just too good to ignore, I love it! I wish if they add a cover rating system, I'll definitely give u 10/5! I really don't have any bad stuff to say, but some of the last chapters were shorter than the first ones, I hope this isn't a lack of motivation from your side stopping you from finishing the story. Because if you don't, the universe will never forgive you! You have to continue writing! Thank you for such a great novel!

An apt title for the storyline. The story starts like a spider web, beginning from different points, inching towards the centre. The progression is rapid but realistic. The thoughts, actions and behaviour exhibited by each character are professionally displayed, in vivid format. Personally, this book is my cup of tea. 👍👍👍

I can't express how in love I am with this crime-mystery novel. I am not a big fan of this type of novels but I started reading it because I wanted to support this great author reading all her novels and the end result is total OBSESSION!!! my admiration and respect for our dear Author. This book is sooo thrilling, sooo full of mysteries, twists, adventures and most important it has all readers on the edge of their seats asking for a quick landing. Our Author has an incredible world inside her mind that has bewitched my heart and soul. I feel very lucky to find this great author committed to the passion of writing and pleasing all her loyal readers bringing a world full of emotions and fantasy to our world when for some of us, real world is turmoil. Took me a while to review because I got slowed down on reading!!! >.< So here it is: BEAUTIFUL. Story, pacing, plot, and concept are well-presented. Characters — simply dynamic. I don’t usually read these types of novels but this simply gave that vibe of both a mystery and an intriguing read. Grammar-wise, I don’t see much of a problem. Nothing much I could really critique. This fellow Author of mine never fails to amaze me with her writing style. I love the way she could intrigue and attract her readers with the cliffhanging and suspense scenes in the stories. I like the mystery and action in this story. Oh my Gosh, Bai Li is so cool. Both the MCs are very special characters. Their unique situation made me love them more. They have flaws but it made them more stronger. The story is well-written, matched with an interesting and exciting plot that would surely hook its readers. Keep it up, dear Author. Wishing you the best for the Spirity Events. This story is fantastic and truly amazing.

Oh God, I love this crime mystery story. It's too exciting to read. Each chapter has twists and turns and the plot is excellent. I feel like I'm watching a movie or a series. If this story is going to be a series or a movie, I'm sure I'll be the first to see it. It's wow no more than that, there are no words to describe it. This book is really really really interesting. If you are fan of crime genre, go for it. It will be worth our time. The story development, the character development, mysteries after mysteries will keep you hooked with this book. Talking about writing style, it is really good with humor and not so twisted. It is very hard to find the books of our taste, and I am glad I found it. And grammatical mistakes are zero to none. Author did really hard work. Lots of love dear Author💓💓.

This is the second time I’ve ever wtitten a review but this book deserved it. I have never read a book that i literally never took a break from. The characters are so well written. The Imagery made me feel as though I was watching a movie. Seriously i love this book. I dont even know what else to say.

Give it a try and you won't regret it. Everything is nice and I don't see any error. I really like the prologue as it makes me wanted to know more what will happen. I even buy the privilege just to make sure that my reading won't be disturb.. It's interesting novel and I will follow it for sure.
